List of Guy Guilfoy's Reviews
Folsom Orthopedic is an example of everything good in medicine. My expectations have been surpassed. I feel my patient needs came first, extremely skilled surgeon, smooth process. Dr. Guilfoy is there for the most important parts, don't expect him to small talk. My first and hopefully last hip surgery went very well. I highly recommended Dr. Guilfoy and Folsom Orthopedic
Dr. Guilfoy is a top notch surgeon and an incredibly nice guy ( pun intended) he has a great bedside manner and was very reassuring. He may be late from time to time but give him credit where credit is due! Would you still have a functional limb if it wasn't for him? How much is that worth to you? An hour, a day , a week, a lifetime? The people who are complaining are forgetting to be grateful for his devotion and knowledge and the incredible amount of time that is spent getting to be who and what he is. I think everyone should appreciate the fact we even have him to help us in our most dire time of need. I sure as hell do! Thank you Dr. Guilfoy for saving my arm. Sincerely Dennis Mc.
Got a referral from my physician to see him for my knee meniscus tear. When called in December, they said their computer system was not working and hence they couldn't confirm with the insurance. Called today (January), and now they are saying they are not contracted with my insurance anymore. Didn't even have courtesy to call me/my doctor back and tell this. Very disappointed. Heard a lot about the doctor and was looking forward to get treated by him but looks like his office bureaucracy sucks.
Delays run about 45 - 50 minutes. One was 1.5 hours. Doctor fails to thorough listen and thus prescribed meds that I am allergic to. Brief moments of kindness but an mostly arrogant surgeon.
Dr Guy Guilfoy performed a TKR for me two years ago. I did a lot of research and his experience and honesty had me settle on him doing my surgery. I was walking without assistance in a week and now I'm climbing mountains and backpacking pain free. Before surgery I could barely walk. My recovery went smoothly and his pain med protocol worked magnificently. He's doing my 2nd knee next year and I have no worries. For me the recovery was easy. I climbed Mt Ralston 4 months after surgery and completed a 30 mile Sierra Backpacking trip 8 months after surgery.
Dr. Guilfoy may run late in his scheduled appts, but that’s because his schedule is packed because he’s the best ortho surgeon around. Many people referred me to him - from previous patients, to PTs, to doctors - he is the best in the region. He did my meniscus tear and I’m up walking within 2 days. Properly diagnosed me after 3 other false diagnoses had me thinking I would need ACL surgery. Nope - was just a torn meniscus!
I've seen Dr. Guilfoy several times. He is always late, usually upwards of 45 minutes. I paid out of pocket 600 dollars for a plasma injection that was completely useless. 12 weeks later went in for a follow up visit and was told to show up 15 minutes early because I was his first patient of the day. After 45 minutes of waiting in a stuffy room, I came out to see him sitting there on his computer. I said I needed to leave, he never even looked up at me. I'll never go go back , there are plenty of orthopaedic surgeons around.
Extremely disappointed that you can’t be seen with PPO INSURANCE for an emergency. Medical facilities want to send you through multiple hoops and waste weeks of your life to see a Dr and charge you the max. So over this bad service.
I ruptured my patellar tendon in my left knee and was referred to Dr guilfoy by a er doc said in the area he was the only one to call his staff were friends always happy to see me and excited to see me smile his assistant doctor was knowledgeable and a great substitute on days the doc was doing other surgeries the doc could tell by my exray what I had did but did a MRI just to make me happy and make sure there was no other damage if I could give him a 6 it would be a insult he disserves a 10 straight scar and a happy walker
Dr. Guilfoy is an excellent doctor, very good at communicating options and making sure the patient is at ease. I felt confident of his abilities from my first visit. My results from my knee replacement surgery have been excellent.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
