Andrew Nguyen's Online Review Report Card

When finding out that Dr. Andrew Nguyen was leaving Monmouth Medical Center my heart sank at not only losing a brilliant surgeon but also an empathetic confidant to whom all my fears and anxieties were open for discussion without judgments and time contraints. From my esophagectomy in Nov. 2019 till today he still calls to see how I am improving and when periods of recovery required consultations with my primary physician, he returned their calls immediately, ready to answer any and all questions. There have been many wonderful doctors that I have had in my 74 years of life but Dr. Nguyen emerged as a healer of the body as well as the soul. He was right to assure me that it would all be worth it. This morning I enjoyed watching my grandchildren in their swim meets with a sense of profound gratitude to Dr. Nguyen for making it possible. I shall miss him dearly.

When we learned of my husband's cancer we were overwhelmed with what to do next. We learned about Dr Nguyen from our research. He has been and continues to go above and beyond to answer our questions, provide reassurance, give us direction and all while never losing empathy to our issues. I can say in all my years I have never met a doctor/sugeron who provides such genuine care for his patients. Dr Nguyen is your answer, your saving grace.

If I never write another review in my life, I hope this is the one that patients read and learn from the most, as it is very important and will most likely save their lives. My husband and I first met Dr. Andrew Nguyen in January 2021. He was to perform a 8 hour esophageal surgery on my husband in February 2021. That in its self is scary, but when Covid is involved it is twice as bad. On the day of the surgery, I had to drop my husband off at the entrance of the hospital and say goodbye without being able to stay with him or visit as per Covid regulations at the time. Believe me, it was one of the hardest days of my life. Because my husbands surgery was extensive, it was going to be a long process. I ask if Dr. Nguyen could let me speak with some of his patients that had already had this surgery and he put me in touch with them to ease our minds. When his past patient called me and we talked, it was a 4-way conversation with him and his wife and my husband and myself. When the long conversation ended, I said to my husband, "no doctor is that great. He must be a family friend or they are related to him somehow. They must be his parents, they act as if the man walks on water." Please believe me when I say, not one word of that conversation was a lie. Everything the past patient told was would become reality in a very short period of time. The hospital stay was longer than we originally anticipated, but this doctor called me everyday with progress reports. What doctor does that? Most days he called me in the morning to give me an update on what kind of night my husband had and then he called me again in the evening to let me know what kind of a day he had. Once my husband was released, he came home and I took care of him. We had a choice of sending him to rehab, but I knew I was up to the task. Once again, Dr. Nguyen called me everyday for 3 weeks to check on his patient and also to check on me. After 3 weeks, he started calling every other day, and then it was once every week until we all felt comfortable with his progress. Dr. Nguyen is the kind of surgeon who spends as much time with you as needed in his office, in the hospital, or on the phone. He is a compassionate professional with great bedside manners. Dr. Nguyen saved my husbands life and my sanity. We still saw Dr. Nguyen every 3-4 months for check-ups and to go over recent cat scans. In June 2022, we received a call from Dr. Nguyen saying that he would be leaving the state of NJ for personal reasons. We were so devastated by this news, because we knew what a terrible loss we would experience. This news is horrible for his past patients, but we are very happy for the patients that have yet to meet Dr. Nguyen and all that he brings with him. He is a one of a kind surgeon. He deeply cares for his patients as well as his staff. We want to wish Dr. Andrew Nguyen the very best of luck in his career and in his personal life as he relocates to Texas. If however in the future, we feel that we need the best of care that we could ever hope for, we will be on the next available plane to Texas and hunt this man down. Today is July 4th, 2022. It stands for Freedom and Independence. And that is what Dr. Nguyen has given to my husband and myself. We are free and independent to live life to its fullest every day because of the extraordinary care given to us by Dr. Andrew Nguyen. If it wasn't for this surgeon, our lives would be so different. I was told by Dr nguyen that I had stage 4 cancer & only 3 to 5 months to live. Not even having a biopsy on my NSLC. It is now 7 months past and I am cancer free thanks to MSK! I would not recommend him.

Dr Nguyen is a professional, compassionate and thorough Doctor. No person will understand what its like to be in pain 24/7 unless you're in pain. He helped me from a bedridden state to back working again. Im own a salon now and I'm still working. I will ever be so grateful to him and his incredible staff. They are ALL compassionate and understanding. However it is also important as a patient to take your medication as directed. This responsibility is on the patient. I have never ran out of my medication because I respect my dosage. If you are in pain you feel normal on medication. Yes you still feel some pain, this is why you respect the dosage given. This is the most important responsibility of the patient. I dont ever want to be bedridden again so I respect the medication and I take it as directed. Thank you Dr Nguyen and staff. LG

I Have seen Dr Nguyen for a Few Years, I can tell you this, He Cares About this patients, & trys to releave your pain because he is a very professional great Dr that is hard to find, Their is A need for medications, but he Also helps you In other ways, He is one of the Best I've been too, & really cars About the wellness & pain relief of his patients.. 5 stars

I wouldn't trust this doctor. My sister was his patient who needed help with pain for bone on bone knee pain, arthritis, and back pain. He never relieved her chronic pain, but she did end up dying at 58 from acute polydrug intoxification. She only took the medicines that he prescribed at the doses he approved. She wasn't his first "accidental" overdose patient that died. Beware!!!

My experience with Dr Nguyen, Thoracic Surgeon, has been exceptional in every way. His diagnosis, surgical expertise and dedication during my ten hour surgery saved my lung. My recovery will now substantially improve, tenfold. During the past three weeks, Dr Nguyen has been in close contact, calling frequently by cell phone to check on my recovery and overall well-being. I consider his follow up and bedside manner to be outstanding. Dr Nguyen truly exemplifies a surgeon of the highest caliber in his field. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent thoracic surgeon.

Just google this doctor name and you will see that he is currently on probation for gross negligence the the death of 7 patients by the medical board of california

Dr. D. Nguyen has managed my pain effectively for several years after two "failed" spinal surgeries. A very thorough scientific professional as well as a compassionate practitioner.
