Dr.Bert sets a high standard of professionalism. All around a great Doctor, and a nice human being.

Dr. Bert is wonderful and recommended by many ophthalmologists. Had cataract surgery I can see better than I have in years.

I have a very high bar for customer satisfaction and Dr. Bert and his staff exceeded my expectations.I used to go to another eye doctor on Beach Blvd but when I had an eye injury and they could not squeeze me, doctor Bert's office got me in. Especially impressive seeing I was a new client. I am also a giant chicken in regard to going to a doctor or dentist, but Dr. Bert and his staff were all so calm, professional, and gentle, the visit was not stressful or scary at all. The assistants and Dr. Bert explained everything in a way I would fully understand, and answered all my questions with ease. What I also loved was once the appt was over, I was given a report that included instructions, suggestions, and details the doctor had explained, but I surely would have forgotten had I not taken notes myself.I am gladly going back for a follow up in 3 weeks and I am not nervous about it at all.

My experience with Dr. Bert, his office and staff is nothing short of excellent. Dr. Bart is extremely knowledgeable in his craft. He is very generous with his time and really listens and answer all questions. His dedication to excellence is exemplary. Dr. Bert give his professional recommendations and did not attempt to upsell. The entire staff took great care to thoroughly explain each step of the appointment and provided all treatment options. It's evident that Dr. Bert takes good care to surround himself with excellent staff which is knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. Appointment scheduling was a breeze.The aesthesis of the office is clean, organized, and flows efficiently, especially during COVID times. I am so appreciative of Dr. Bert, his staff and his practice! My family's eye care will not be in anyone else's hands!

Dr. Benjamin Bert is by far the best opthomologist I have ever frequented. He is so knowledgeable, sincere, and intelligent. He has a fantastic demeanor and does not hesitate to clearly explain conditions make appropriate referrals concerning eye health. He is cautious in diagnosing and treats conditions according to scientific facts and beliefs. I have referred many clients to Dr. Bert, all of whom have been so impressed with his surgical and diagnostic skills. The office staff is kind, knowledgeable and patient. I highly recommend Dr. Bert.

I was referred to Dr Bert after my son had a surfing accident that cut both his upper and lower eyelids and a cut on his eyeball. Dr Bert was wonderful. He was so pleasant and thorough. Luckily his eyeball was just a superficial laceration but he needed stitches in both his eyelids. Dr Bert calmed my son down, talked to him through the whole procedure and before my son knew it was done. I would highly recommend him.

Today was my first time appt with Dr. Benjamin Bert. What a pleasant man. He listened carefully to me and answered all my questions. He seems very knowledgeable, he put my mind at ease, explained things well. Prescribed some drops that I hope will relieve my nighttime dry eyes. I will definitely consider him for future eye problems. I was able to get a same day appt too because I thought I had an eye infection and Doheny Eye accommodated my request. I wish all doctors behaved like Dr. Bert

Came here for something very specific, ended up having an unnecessary and unrelated procedure/exam done, which I had never asked for, and that my insurance didn't cover.I tried to negotiate/dispute it, but was of course given the run-around, and the usual rehearsed defense of, "We're not responsible for knowing your insurance, blablabla." No, dear, this is not about me debating any legal (or even moral) obligation for you to communicate, be upfront, and give me a chance to decline said procedure/exam, this is a matter of bad business practice. Sure, a simple Google search would have informed me that this procedure is not covered by insurance providers, but I trust YOU to be the experts who deal with this every single day, and know very well how costly it is to patients.And then there's that follow-up argument about how this procedure was "necessary". Okay, I don't pretend to know more than you, but I was perfectly content with what I had gotten out of the initial visit prior to it, and can safely say that it added nothing to that initial diagnosis, prognosis, prescription, or really... anything whatsoever. So, you can argue that a follow-up "for your own information" testing is necessary... the same way you could have also tacked on some x-rays, blood sampling, STD lab-work, etc. etc. Bottom line, I did not need it, nor did I want it. Especially since this was not the first visit I had regarding this particular issue.For what it's worth, Benjamin Bert seems like a "nice" guy. As others have pointed out, it's his front-desk staff that is cold and humorless. And quite frankly, I don't trust this clinic to have my best interests in mind, and to not exploit their patients. Some of us really can't afford to take that chance.
