List of Hoag Medical Group Fountain Valley's Reviews
After having ADOC for many years and not being exactly pleased i decided to switch to Hoag Medical Group . My Elderly Parents and I all switched over .. It was on Jan 1 , 2023 ... On Dec 30 , 2022 I drove myself to Memorial Hospital in FV to ER ... On Jan 1st I had emergency surgery... Memorial took great care of me and Post Op Hoag Medical Group took care of me !! I am so happy that I 'm with Hoag!! No more waiting for Approvals... They have many more advanced technologies... I don't have time to note all the pluses of this Medical Group...
This is for Dr. Hua mainly vs. the Medical group overall. I had changed to an HMO and was not used to going to PCP first for everything; and even though this is frustrating at times when it is obvious where you need to be directed, Dr. Hua has been the best of the PCPs I have tried. He listens to me fully, comes prepared having read your file/notes, asks pertinent questions, he responds to messages when they are sent, and he provides efficient/timely actions/treatment/authorizations. This should be something that all PCPs do; however, they do not...still--he does. His(?) staff or the staff at Fountain Valley is also effective in communication and assistance, which also makes the process less stressful and more efficient. I have been with him for a little over a year, so enough time to see consistency is there.
A big fan of Dr.Hua. He's very smart and explains everything very thoroughly. I feel like he's approachable and I personally didn't feel nervous to ask him any questions I had. I've been thinking about making him my primary doctor ( my previous doctor left the network ). If you're in need of a good doctor especially in the hoag network- give Dr.Hua a try!
This medical group is amazing, I have changed hospitals n doctors about 6x the last 15 years, my last family doctor had a medical retirement, he was the kindest doctor alive, I was distraught I might never find another doctor but here I am w Dr Schachter he's just as kind n compassionate as my previous Dr. The office is modern n clean stand alone building in front of Smart n Final market. Dr Schachter is attentive, knowledgeable, he has great patient bedside manners. I went back for follow up on the shingles the pain was gone but the itch continues I'm going to see a dermatologist to get some steroid injection to shrink the bumps. All this pain for getting the booster, it sure weakened my immune system. He gave me an EKG n overall he was transparent n explained everything to me. I'm A Ok for my upcoming cruise n long trip to Paris n VN this summer. So if you need a family doctor he's the one!
This review is for Dr C Nguyen-Loh at this location. I had an infection a few days ago and my Primary Care Physician is out of the office for a couple of weeks. I was seen by Dr Nguyen-Loh and am very happy and grateful with the way she cares for me. She is very knowledgeable, professional but friendly and is willing to take her time to explain my problem and how to care for it. I totally recommend Dr Nguyen-Loh especially with the way she respects older patients like myself. For those patients that could not speak English She also speaks Vietnamese. Thank you Dr. Nguyen-Loh.

Be careful ! Don’t go there ! Dr long Hua and staff are rude. They judge your outfit before they treat patients . My PPO insurance cover for my routine check up , but after 4 months and I got big bills for it $1,52.06 . I went there and called them to complain ,and waiting more than two weeks , but no one contact me . They failed me doctors. I feel hurt losing money and untruths doctors !!!
Do not go to this location of Hoag. They overcharge your insurance abusing the insurance codes. I reported them to the Hoag HQ and to my health insurance.
I lost my job and don't currently have insurance. I had to go see my Doctor in order to get my thyroid medication refilled. Because my doctor was not available I had to see a different physician at hoag. My appointment was has 11:00 a.m. They knew that I have no job and no insurance. I waited until 11:30 and was finally seen. Dr Hua came in the room, he already had my chart with him and asked me why I was there. I told him I just needed to get my medication refilled which would require a blood test (at a separate location) He marked a couple boxes on the lab slip then handed it to me. We literally met for under 7 minutes. He didn't give me any medical advice, didn't check my vitals, did absolutely nothing to warrant such a massive charge. Then he was done with the appointment and left the room. I was told at the front desk that my bill for the visit is around $375. I was FLOORED. $375!???!? They knew I had no insurance and while I did not expect to get off scot-free this is absolutely outrageous considering the doctor did absolutely nothing other than mark a few boxes on a blood test form that I would have to take elsewhere and also pay another massive feed to get the blood test results. I saw him for LITERALLY 7 MINUTES. This is absolutely CRIMINAL!! A 7 minute visit where he did NOTHING for that price!?!?!?? How is it that millions of others skim the system and have free insurance and get free medication refills, yet they're trying to stick it to me and force me to pay $375 and also more $$$$ to get a basic lab test????????? WTF?? This is wrong on so many levels.
After it changed to Hoag Medical, it's honestly gone down hill. Dr. Hopper just retired a week ago... she had been my doctor for over a decade and I have been coming to this facility since I was a teenager (I'm now in my thirties). I've never written reviews for a doctor but I feel like I should warn people that this place should probably be avoided. I don't feel like any of the doctors care about your actual health and well-being. Every-time I come here, all they do is routine check, test and send you out the door with another prescription. Not to mention, a few years ago Dr. Hopper gave me too many antibiotic medications and I am to this day, dealing with an allergy because of it. It angers me because she should have known better. To top it off, I haven't been told the truth about certain things being tested every time I go for the same reoccurring problem until recently. One of the nurse practitioners there was SO kind to me and finally helped me and now I am taking my business (and health) to a specialist and avoiding this place like the plague. And don't even get me started with the staff people like Jennifer who does the phone calls and such. Absolutely not a caring tone in her voice whatsoever... extremely rude and unprofessional. I am so glad to be rid of this place after anyone and everyone good left. Avoid at all costs.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
