List of Jane Kakkis, Md's Reviews
Dr. Kakkis and the team at Orange Coast Memorial are spectacular from start to finish. She is professional, patient and highly knowledgable. She explained everything to us and answered all of our questions. The team gave very clear instructions ahead of surgery as well as post surgery. Could not be more pleased.
Dr. Kakkais is very cold and unprofessional. She does not care about her patients. She is greedy. Her team are very unprofessional and unknowledgeable. Don't go to them. You will be more stress. Dealing with cancer is already a stressfull situation. She and her team make it worse
Excellent surgeon with a Caring Heart Her pre-surgery care and the surgery and the post-surgery care have all been excellent. She is not only an excellent physician but also a caring human being. Willing to answer questions any questions you have to any lengths you wish. Very intelligent and very caring. A rare combination!
This doctor is one of the best we have ever had! In addition to being an excellent physician and surgeon she is a very kind and caring person, patiently answering any questions you may have in any length you would like to discuss. Her staff is also excellent! Probably closer to 4.9 stars because parking sometimes can be sparse.
I apologize in advance for this lengthy review but I hope it can be useful for other people. I am a 46 year old women diagnosed with BRCA1.Dr. Jane L. Kakkis is an extraordinary surgeon and human being. My gynecologist referred me to Dr. Kakkis last year due to family history of breast cancer and possible BRCA mutation. My diagnosis of BRCA1 mutation was positive. Dr. Kakkis immediately requested an ultrasound of my breasts and MRI screening to rule out breast cancer, and full mastectomy to follow. Since there was no cancer, Dr. Kakkis suggested to remove one breast at a time to minimize risks and expedite the healing process; I loved her conservative and caring approach.Since all the breast screenings were negative, I opted to have a full hysterectomy first due to repeated abnormal pap smears. Pathology reported ovarian cancer stage 2. Thus, a 2nd operation was performed in my pelvis by an oncologist/gynecologist surgeon and quimo followed for 6 months. Thus, full mastectomy had to be delayed.During all this time, Dr. Kakkis continued to monitor my breasts closely, requesting lab work, mammograms, MRI, PET/CT scans showing no signs of cancer.Thank God, I recovered from quimo and currently in remission.A month ago, Dr. Kakkis performed the removal of my right breast and coordinated the reconstruction of my right breast at the same time with plastic surgeon Dr. Brandon Richland (fabulous doctor as well). Needless to say, Dr. Kakkis requested a mammogram of my right breast prior to surgery to avoid any "surprises." Mammogram was negative with no signs of abnormality. However, Dr. Kakkis called me few days after the surgery to communicate the pathology results. Lab found about 1 inch of cancerous cells stage zero on my right breast. However, per Dr. Kakkis, since all the cancer was removed and cancer cells were not aggressive, radiation/quimo was NOT needed. Yes indeed, another miracle. I am recovering well from my right breast and hoping to proceed with the removal of my left breast in a month or so. I remain faithful that God is in control and HE had put the best surgeons around me.Dr. Kakkis will not sugar coat it for you but she always addresses all your concerns in a kind and professional manner. She also encourages you to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion to have a clearer understanding of your options. Her assistant Kristine is also very professional, caring and efficient; she coordinates my appointments, screens, and surgery so smoothly. Kristine also handled my disability claim with no issues.I HIGHLY trust and recommend Dr. Kakkis for the care of your breasts.

Dr Kakkis is very rude, I am surprised with this behavior from a doctor.
Dr. Kakkis is an extraordinary doctor. She is caring and proactive. She orders all the necessary screenings to assess your diagnosis. Last year I was diagnosed with BRCA1 and Dr. Kakkis is been very supportive monitoring my health. Recently, Dr. Kakkis removed my right breast and coordinated the reconstruction of my breast with Dr. Brandon Richland at the same time. She was careful to coordinate my surgery in a conservative and caring fashion to minimize risks of infection (due to covid-19) and expedite the healing process. I am recovering really well and getting ready for the removal of my left breast. Dr. Kakkis assistant Kristine is phenomenal. She handled all my paperwork so smoothly, including the submission of my disability claim. I will not trust any other doctor to perform this surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Kakkis for all your breast concerns.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
