John Eilbert,Md's Online Review Report Card

I have been a patient of Dr. Eilbert's for over 15 years. He always listens to my concerns and does not rush to make a decision. He is caring, compassionate and the best Dr. have ever seen.

Am now changing doctors. My doctor hasn't gone into the office since beginning of last year even tho he and most of his patients have been vaccinated. My pharmastist would not refill my prescriptions unless the doctor gives an okay (I have been taking these med's for a long time and I have to have them) and he won't do it unless he see's me which he won't because he refuses to go into the office. I was left without help. (p.s. he didn't even give me an order to get blood work). Office staff was extremely rude when I pointed out all of this stuff. I went to the emergency room at local hospital and they took care of everything. The doctor just shook his head when I had to tell him why I was in the emergency room to get my meds renewed. I am now looking for a GOOD doctor who makes sense. Office staff was extremely rude considering this was their office and doctors fault. How does a doctor leave his patients hanging without lab work or meds when due.

Has been my Dr. for over 5 years & I am not an easy case I have several. problems & he has taken the time to help me deal with my problems and really cares about if his Doctoring has helped with my needs. If you need a Doctor that will take care of you then this is the one you should try.

You will not find a more compassionate, caring doctor than Dr. Eilbert. He practices medicine the way it should be, and sadly, the way it used to be -- with care and knowledge.

I find dr. eilbert to be a person I would trust with any aspect of health or life. he is respectful and concerned. I wish he would have been my father. I would have been a better person .

It is not Dr Eilbert himself that is the problem, he is wonderful, it is his office staff. For years now I have put up with horrible service from his staff trying to get authorizations for meds I have been taking for a decade. They almost never answer the prescription line and it does not matter how many messages I or my pharmacy leave, they seem to ignore them altogether. Terrible attitudes are just the icing on the shit cake. I give up. I left Dr Eilbert solely because of his staff. Nightmare over.

Office says NO more Newport Beach location for several years. he is excellent but I had problems with referrals etc once they went to staff. now he is out of town till no appointments till Oct.- so will try elsewhere. **staff is courteous, they just never did the paperwork back then.

Dr Eilbert is fine. The person at the front desk however does not know the difference between a follow-up visit and a check-up. She insisted they were "the same thing". Stupidity is worrisome when it's encountered at a doctor's office. What else will she confuse as being "the same thing"?

I love Dr. Eilbert! He is warm and kind and his bedside manner is wonderful. I have seen him for almost 7 - 8 years now, and I am thankful I found him!

The office has a tiny waiting room. My first appointment was at 3:30 (arrived at 3:20) and I was seen at 4:20. The waiting room was full when I got there and empty when I went in. Maybe they forgot about me, but I made sure to walk by the front window several times making eye contact. The doctor is aged, but still sharp. However, he has no bedside manner. I definitely felt like I was a nuisance to him. I am very friendly, and tried to make small talk, but he wasn't biting. Granted it is late in the afternoon, but the lack of customer service was blindly apparent. Retire or at least put some effort into it. Also, the nurse was verbally and visually annoyed at having to write more prescriptions at the end of the day. Major hassle and bad service -> if you have a choice, keep looking for another doctor/office. If not, be very assertive at the office. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and you should be very squeaky if you expect to get basic service. Unfortunate... but a little effort could go a long way...
