List of Julie Balan's Reviews
Dr. Balan is a terrific doctor. I had an urgent issue come up and could not get into see my primary doctor. The medical group was able to get me a same day appointment with Dr. Balan. She took an extended amount of time digging into my medical history and assessing my current condition. She was able to make some recommendations and get me referred out to specialist. She followed up with me and didn't drop that ball. She is very kind and seems to genuinely care. I am very grateful for the care that she provided to me.

Nearly five months ago I had my first and LAST visit with Dr. Julie Balan. I came in very hopeful being that my last experience with a doctor from Memorial Care went really well. I left utterly disappointed & in tears as soon as I made it back to my car. I made this appointment with Dr. Balan because I had been dealing with a lot of anxiety at the time & I thought it would be a good idea to see a doctor after months of pushing it aside. In the beginning, I was asked to fill out a wellness evaluation. Later, Dr. Balan came back and told me I had severe depression, recommended very strong medication to me and convinced me I needed to see a psychiatrist. I literally had to tell her I didn't want anything strong if I were to take anything and practically fought back and forth with her about the medication she wanted to prescribe. Also, just a disclaimer: I am a college student & having loads of anxiety is not completely abnormal. Dr. Balan made me really worried and if anything she made me even more anxious. I wish she would've taken her time with me and tried to understand my situation a little more. It's been 5 months since that visit and I did not end up taking the medication she prescribed me and I would consider myself emotionally well. I went ahead and gave Dr. Balan two stars because I don't want to ignore the fact that she is a new doctor and she is just getting started. I really hope in the future that she begins to take her time with her patients & grants them a better experience than I had.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
