You cannot go wrong with DR Francis. I am a nurse and have high expectations for my care. She has the most amazing bedside manner and really takes the time to listen to you. You never feel rushed during an appointment. She is warm, friendly and caring. She removed my gallbladder in April and I have had a wonderful post operative experience and I feel great. She called me at home personally after my surgery too. Nancy at the front desk is always helpful and friendly and always answered all my questions. I had an all round great experience with this office and would highly recommend this practice. Kerryn
I made my appointment with Dr. Francis a month ago. I was early, filled out paperwork and then waited 20 minutes as the only person in the waiting room. I think asked the Admin when I will be seen and she said she would take me back soon. Once taken into a back room I waited another 25 minutes before I stuck my head out and asked when I would be seen. The Admin was on the phone and another employee said the Admin would come in when she got off the phone. The Admin stuck her head in and I asked when I would be seen. She said in ten minutes, but I could tell she was not sure. Since this was for a consult and 50 minutes waiting was long enough, I left. If only I was told there would be a delay. Or something came up and could I come back tomorrow. Or could I come back in an hour. Zero communication.
Terrible administrative service. Back in November, I called and left a message the first time for an appointment. Nobody called me back until I called again and got an appointment for 1/6/2021. Thus, I made an appointment a month in advance, and the receptionist called me just now saying my appointment is cancelled because theyre closing due to Covid19. While I understand the covid19 situation where things get unorganized, but do tell your patients fews days to a week in advance so I can PLAN AHEAD. Now I cannot even reach my primary care for a referral to somebody else after a month of waiting in discomfort. Even the doctors in my family and friends said this was unprofessional on their end.
When I was given a list of general surgeons at Memorial Care so that I have to get my gallbladder removed I asked one of my friends who was a nurse at the facility who she would see. She said Kelly Frances. I then asked a friend who is the head of one of the Departments at Memorial Care and he also said Kelly Francis. Dr. Francis exceeded All my expectations. She was one of those rare Physicians who is excellent at her field while maintaining amazing bedside manner. Shes kind friendly and very good at what she does. My recovery time with minimal and she walked me through everything that I should expect. having worked in the medical field for decades general surgeons are known for in and out procedures where they staple your incisions for expediency. Dr. Frances obviously took her time. My incision marks are almost completely gone. Obviously as a patient you want procedure to go well and be successful but you dont necessarily want a reminder of the surgery every time you undress.

This was the single worst experience of my life.During my procedure, they misinserted my catheter causing severe damage to my urethra. TWO HOURS after the catheter was inserted, Dr. Francis checked on the catheter and found that it had been improperly inserted. After she attempted to reinsert the catheter with negative results. I was then transferred to the ER where a urologist had to scope and insert the catheter correctly WHILE I WAS AWAKE. This led to me living with a catheter for three weeks, taking multiple ambulance rides to the ER to manage bleeding and pain, multiple trips to the urologist, culminating in a three day stay in the hospital, and a surgery to fix the damage to my urethra that occurred on the first day. To add insult to injury, I wan never once contacted by Dr. Franciss office to see how I was doing, even after my wife called them and let them know of the horrors I had been going through.

Dr. Francis removed my gallbladder because I was experiencing pain due to gallstones, and she was amazing and truly a blessing. She made me feel cared for answered every question I had during my first consultation with her, explained what would happen during surgery and what to expect afterwards. She even went above and beyond and fit me into her schedule to have my surgery sooner. On my surgery day she came in before to comfort and reassure me and my family and went to speak to my family after surgery to reassure them that surgery was successful. All the nurses that day were awesome, also Orange coast memorial is an awesome hospital. I am about 2 months post op and feeling amazing no more pain, no negative digestive issues after surgery totally healed and happy that I was referred to this awesome Doctor! So if you are in need for a surgeon I 100% without a doubt recommend Dr Kelly Francis to get the best care you can receive!
Dr. Francis is the best. I highly recommend her. I had gallstones and was in pain for a very long time. After having surgery with her I've felt amazing. She really cares about her patients and I absolutely loved having her as my doctor.
Have had only one appointment with her to date, but she was wonderful. All the time in the world, encouraging regarding a pending surgery with an office assistant who compliments here professionalism quite well.

Dr. Francis is a wonderful surgeon. She was my breast cancer surgeon and the head of my care team. I couldnt have been in better hands! It was a very traumatic time, and she gave me the hope to endure, the knowledge to make wise decisions, and the forward thinking to help me look after my whole body, mind, and spirit. Her expertise and amazing skill as a surgeon are second to none. She embodies humanity and professionalism at its best!

OMG!!! I went to see Dr. Francis today she is so amazing. I couldn't believe there was such a doctor... The way she listened and made me feel welcomed. Her heart is so pure. She put my heart to ease and my mind to rest. I was seeing Dr. Leport prior to her and did not and was not going to return. I was scared of his office and felt belittled. I am so grateful that I found Dr. Francis. Words can not express how I feel about this God sent doctor. Shes so humble and truly cares. She goes above and beyond. If you are looking for one of the greatest experiences ever at a doctors office GO HERE! Not only is Dr. Francis amazing Favi (Fabulous =) ) at the front desk will blow your mind. My first visit and I feel like Ive known them forever. I didnt feel like I was at a doctors office I felt like I was at my best friend house. Like I could cry, laugh, and know when I leave everything will be alright. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart...
I was referred by my primary doctor to Dr. Francis when gallstones were found in my gallbladder. I have suffered pain for years and had all sorts of tests done before finally getting diagnosed (the gallstones were not seen in my first ultrasound a couple of years ago). Dr. Francis was great at explaining things to me what would happen during surgery and post surgery. Her demeanor was simply wonderful. Despite scheduling conflicts, she empathized with my years of suffering and had her staff figure out a way so I can get my surgery as soon as possible. The surgery itself was uneventful for me <br> well, okay, I was under anesthesia :) though apparently Dr. Francis had to work extra due to unexpected adhesions in my body. Postsurgery also went as well as it could. Dr. Francis was just as nice and informative during my aftersurgery visit. I hope I won't ever need any surgery again, but if I do, she will be the one I will call first. I just hope whatever it may be, it's a type of surgery she performs. I truly could not think of anything else I would wish for in a doctor she is simply wonderful and very competent!
I have known Dr Francis for a few years now. In fact, she was my surgeon. My surgery process from start to finish was a piece of cake. Everything was thoroughly explained to me and she took the time to make sure I understood everything and didnt have any questions. She is a very caring and compassionate person. Follow up appointments were a breeze. I was in and out. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldnt change a thing. Dr Francis made things very easy.
Spectacular
I met Dr Francis in 2013 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Upon meeting her, she immediately made me feel at ease with my impending double mastectomy. The day of the surgery, she held my hand in preop reassuring me that she would take good care of me and that I would be okay. During my stay in the hospital after my surgery when Dr Francis made her daily visits, she did not rush through her exam or questions, but stayed and talked with me to make sure I was really doing okay mentally and physically with the traumatic situation. Not only is her bedside manner very loving and caring, but so is her general treatment of people/patients on a regular basis. Her kindness has remained constant as I continue my followup visits and care with her. In addition, I had no adverse reaction to her surgical procedure on me, so I can say that I am very pleased with her skills as a surgeon. I have absolutely no negative to report and would highly recommend Dr Francis to anyone needing surgery or dealing with breast cancer. My gratitude runs extremely deep for this amazing doctor. More doctors should be like her!
