List of Memorialcare Cancer Institute's Reviews
I had my baby at the childbirth center and was next door with Dr. Wycoff for prenatal visits. The five stars is for both prenatal and the labor experience. At the prenatal visits, we saw mostly midwives and they always took the time to patiently answer any questions we had, as well as seeming personally interested and invested in both mine and my baby's health. I only had good experiences. The facility seemed clean and professional. I had one mostly painless cervix check performed by Dr. Wycoff at 39 weeks and a membrane sweep at 40+2 done by Patricia Evens, also mostly painless. At that time my baby's heart rate and amniotic fluid levels were low so they sent me to the childbirth center to be induced. Having read a prior review, I had already turned in paperwork by this time. The admitting process was extremely fast and the nurse Shannon was pretty amazing at helping us relax and get ready. They immediately started feeding me like I was in danger of starving. I think I gained 10lbs in the three days I was there- no joke. The anesthesiologist that did my epidural (had tattooed arms, can't recall his name), was competent and made me feel like he knew what he was doing. All of my nurses were pretty good (one was a little chatty about politics and I faked a little more pain than I felt so she would settle down). My labor ended up being close to 5 hours with the baby's heart rate dropping a couple of times. The Certified Nurse Midwife Pat Evens was probably the best thing to happen to us. She was so calm that it was difficult to worry too much with her there. The baby nurse was great, the post labor nurse was great (Katie?), and the lactation consultant Brooke is almost certainly not paid enough. If you are pregnant, do yourself and your baby a huge favor and take her class before the birth. Post partum we got our own room and my husband had his own bed. Overall I had a great pregnancy and labor experience. If I planned on a second baby, we'd come back for sure.
Wonderful Medical Facility!! Hands down. Had surgery, spent the night and was never uncomfortable. From registering in the morning to leaving the next day, the entire process was seamless. Kudos to Memorial Care Orange Coast, other facilities should follow your business, treatment and customer care plan. Thank you all for absolute exceptional care.
The parking at this hospital is a joke. I don't know why the city has approved it. It has way fewer parking spaces as necessary. How terrible the situation is? Come here in morning, even all shopping malls nearby are plagued. Today I had to park about 3 blocks away. There was simply nothing available, any self parking, any valet parking. And the hospital has done zero to improve the situation over last several years, but only continue building more offices.
This hospital is amazing. The staff is incredible. They treated me and my son very well. I had surgery there and Michelle, Tiffany and Sia ( i believe that's her name- i was kind of out of it were the best . They made me feel so comfortable, relaxed and genuinely cared .

I can only speak for your x-ray and MRI department. I originally went to the Anaheim area and was given a list of referrals for X-rays etc. Scheduling something with Wave imaging was a nightmare. So I decided to go to come here. It was further than the 3rd party X-ray place but I said what the heck. Let me say, the staff here is amazing and kind. They work with a sense of urgency and also make sure they give you time to answer any questions you may have. Come here if you don't want to deal with any 3rd parties. It will save you a ton of time!
My wife cut her finger badly while cooking so we went to the ER. The staff was amazing. They triage the patients so that they can be served at a faster rate depending on injury or medical issue. This allowed us to get initial care in minutes and final care in a few hours. Thank you for the expedient work and great care.
My son was having pain when he inhaled. He was scared so I took him to the emergency room. It was a freezing cold night, and they made us sit outside. I understand the precautionary measure in times of Covid when you consider how small their waiting area is. But it was cold outside. The wind was blowing and there seemed to be a wind tunnel between all the large buildings that make up this medical center, making it colder still. They did not have blankets. Eventually, someone brought out a heater and turned it on. Eventually they brought out bath blankets, which are thin and flannel like. That helped. But I am was very disappointed in the lack of interventions to protect patients from the elements. My hospital on that day had us at a Yellow Covid risk; as opposed to Green, the lowest risk or red, the highest. We also put up tents to handle the challenges of maintaining a distance. The staff were all bundled up in down jackets and came to us. I felt bad for them. Our care was adequate. But we will not return here.
My 6 year old had to go to the ER for a broken wrist. It was very hard to find the ER, there weren't clear signs. The security guard was very rude especially to my husband. The staff, doctors and nurses were all great. The wait wasn't bad, but we did have to wait a while for the discharge papers.
I absolutely hate this place. My insurance now makes me go here for certain services even though I'm contracted with Hoag. There is never any parking here, I had to get blood taken and had to drive all the way to the roof for a 15 mins appointment. Beyond the nonexistent parking is the care. My sister came to the emergency room with a broken jaw and they sent her away and told her she was "fine, just a little banged up." We took her to a follow up with a specialist at our preferred hospital and they told us her jaw was fractured and because it wasn't treated appropriately she now needed it wired shut. My mother is currently in dispute over the ER bill since they failed to provide her care. If you have the option to go somewhere else GO, do not come here if you don't have to!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
