List of Memorialcare Heart & Vascular Institute's Reviews
I have been a patient at this clinic for over 20 years. I like my doctor but when I had an emergency situation, the provider refuses to cover a $1200 medical bill because the retina specialist that happened to be working only because he had another emergency case on Christmas Eve/holiday is out of network. The clinic always finds a reason not to cover a necessary medical procedure! Have been going back and forth with them since 2021! I had to have emergency retina repair surgery. My eye was bleeding in the back of my eye. This was during the height of Covid and could not go to an emergency room and maybe get to see a retinal specialist thats would have to be called in on Christmas eve! I pay over $600 a month for my insurance and have been paying this for over 20 yrs. I only seek preventative medical care. No major illnesses. My opinion is to think twice before signing up with this med provider because they wont be there when you need them!!
Recently had a bad case of diverticulitis...of course 3 days before a month long vacation. While my PCP couldn't see me that day another doctor in the practice did. They rushed tests for me including blood, CT and more and yes it was serious. Quickly started medications and following the protocols given.I was so impressed that my PCP followed up at least 3 times on the phone. Checking to make sure I was doing what I was supposed to do so I could get on a plane. Now in Barbados for a dream trip that was planned long ago. No Rum which is what they are famous for....but very grateful for the excellent care that helped me get here.Thank you!
I tried today September 13-22 to make an appointment with gastroenterologist and the call center told me the first available appointment is mid January of 2023 !!! How disappointing. Also a few time I walked in patient and was treated by a PA !! It seems they only have one or two doctors and cutting cost using PA which hardy can diagnose you. Horrible medical center. I award them a big zero. Shame on their management.
I have been to this location twice for family members and I have not been disappointed. All staff are courteous and professional. They have control over their office and knowledge of their profession. The doctors we did see were kind and and professional. My family will definitely change medical providers.
I have been going to the MemorialCare, Fountain Valley, Urgent Care for the last 29 or so, years. They always had great nurses and doctors, and even though the wait time was long sometimes and they were super busy, everyone working there had great attitudes and treated me really well. I never had a complaint, until now. They have this one older, really older, doctor, who didn't pay any attention when I requested to not get a certain medicine again, because I was concerned about having had it too many times in a row in the last two years. He used the computer, then said my pres was sent to the pharmacy, and when I went, it was the exact medicine that I had asked him not to give me. So, as a result, I ended up sick again, and had to go back, but it was a different day and I had a much better doctor. However, the nurse was really crazy. She decided for no apparent reason to program the electronic blood pressure monitor to squeeze my arm so tight, I was in pain and in tears, and I got angry at her for causing me so much pain. (My arm still hurts, three days later.) She acted like it was only the machine, and not her, but I know that she programmed it, because I saw her spend time pushing buttons on it. I think her name is Berenice, but no one wanted to give me her name. They protect each other from being reported to bosses. I spoke to the nurse in charge and she didn't want to give me that nurse's name. The next day, I called the main office there, and left a message saying I needed to report something, but no one called me back. It seems that if you have a problem with one person, they believe you, but if a second person causes you a problem, they assume you are just a complainer. Well, I will never again return to that place. I cannot trust the people they are hiring these days. I recommend that anyone reading this, if you also had a problem there, to please leave a report here in Yelp, because it might save some people some problems.
Went in for a simple Covid-19 test, was directed to the ER section of the hospital. Informed them that I'm merely seeking a Covid testing and instead I was administered to a room and then a Covid test was performed (which turned out to be negative) and then they insisted that I wait yo see an ER doctor to review my Negative test??? After that they billed me for $2300.00 and after insurance paying in excess of $1300.00 they continued to bill me for over $500 for a Covid test???, and after several call to the billing department, they refused to reduce the charges!!! Do not go to ER in this location if you can help it!
Love my experience here so far! Very efficient, never had to wait long, and the front staff, nurses, medical assistants and my doctor Leah Phan are all very nice.
I went in to this Fountain Valley location for a drive thru COVID test and I must say each person working this morning at 10:15am at the in the parking structure were very polite, professional and efficient. I was in and out like a breeze. The two gentlemen that assisted me JJ and Shad made my first Covid testing very pleasant. There were even some laughs exchanged which made it that much more pleasant; "broccoli it is since I have no taste buds" lol. I would definitely return to this location due to the high level of politeness and kindness experienced by this staff during these very challenging times . Thank you MemorialCare for this experience.
AVOID AT ALL COSTSWaiting room completely empty yet nurses told the front desk person they refused to see me. Horrible lazy staff with no compassion.
I like this facility. It is clean and orderly. The office personnel are prompt in attending to patients, like me. The medical personnel, such as the medical assistant and the LVNs, are knowledgeable. They do their jobs very well. And my primary care doctor, Dr. Arfa Babaknia is superb. I am very happy with the way he carries out his duties, as a primary care physician. I truly do feel that my health is really well taken care of. And by the way, it is worth noting that Dr. Arfa Babaknia was once selected as one of Orange County's 20 best doctors some years ago.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
