List of Memorialcare Medical Group's Reviews
TLDR - They didn't check my insurance coverage correctly when I scheduled and notified me 2 hrs before my appointment that I'm not covered. So, I either pay them hundreds (for each of my 2 needed appointments) OR further delay my care by more than 3+ months from the time I made the appointment plus however long it takes for an appointment with someone in my insurance network. **If you have a HMO, check that it covers their medical group.** Review:I scheduled the earliest appointment I could, which was 2 months away and gave them my insurance info. I did not have any insurance changes before the scheduled visit. Keep in mind that I also needed 2 visits: first visit for check up before they would even schedule a second visit for a procedure I needed. The two visits could not be combined into 1 even though it was an outpatient 5 minute procedure. Then, 2 hours before my appointment, they called to tell me that they are not covered by my insurance, so it would cost me hundreds of dollars for 1 visit! They should have checked when I made the appointment and gave them my insurance. The silver lining is that I learned I can ask my insurance to change the medical group to cover them. However, Sean was wrong that they could do it so quickly. Depending on when it was requested, it still takes the beginning of the next month or month after that! When he realized their mistake, he offered to schedule the procedure right away. That's nice, but my insurance would not have covered that. It requires a check up, then the provider has to request an authorization that my insurance can take 11 days to approve.Staff need to be better informed and check things appropriately to inform patients, especially for time sensitive concerns. It's ridiculous that they limited me to spend hundreds or wait more than 3+ months for something that I should have been notified from the beginning. To be fair, part of the problem is US healthcare and the insurance company.
It’s A wonderful place good doctors and safe
Overall positive experience. PA was very friendly, professional and explained everything. RN and Office staff great as well
I had open heart CABG double bypass surgery and was in the hospital for 11 days (6 in ICU). My surgeon, Dr. Lam is part of MemorialCare Medical Group - Fountain Valley (Cardiothoracic Surgery). I had They saved my life. I really can't say enough about how pleased I was with the whole experience. This includes Dr. Lam's surgery, as well as the Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center (OCMMC) and the California Heart Associates cardiologists, who are located on the hospital campus. Multiple doctors visited me each day and the nurses in the ICU and telemetry room were outstanding and gave me plenty of attention. The facility was clean and had good, modern equipment. What I was most impressed was how well managed everything was. Everyone seemed to enjoy their work, multiple doctors were brought in for consultation, and they talked openly with each other to make the best decisions with all the inputs available. I would recommend Dr. Lam and MemorialCare team at OCMMC to anyone.
Staff is always professional. Dr K is always prepared and takes time to explain lab results and take questions
Receptionist was very rude and unprofessional. After they told me that my appointment was delayed by one hour and if I wanted to reschedule, It would be another month before i could get an another appointment..... I had a little problem with that and I let them know I was not happy about it and it was unacceptable. They told me to sit down and wait... like I was someone not important!!I made the appointment two months in advance and they should make it their top priority to honor the appointment. If I was asked nicely and accommodation's was made for me to reschedule the appointment at a reasonable time. I never would wrote this bad review. My doctor had to call me later to apologize....My doctor is very nice
Sarah is so nice and caring. Highly recommended
Ms. Cooper was very attentive, knowledgeable and thorough. She did not try to rush things, but instead she took the time to find out the most she could with me and my condition and prior issues with me. I would see her again and I would recommend others to see her as well.
Love the midwife/OB staff here. Had my first child with them and went back for my second :)
This is the absolute worst hospital I've been to... EVER! I have been to hospitals all over the US! I pretty much live in hospitals, so this review is definitely credible! I just moved to the area & this hospital was the closest for me, so I tried it out & will NOT be coming back. I understand times are crazy right now, and the doctors/nurses etc are only human and are probably exhausted, but they were SO RUDE TO ME!!!! I came in having a severe asthma attack, I've had asthma sines I was 2 years old and know exactly what I need, but they treated me so poorly and didn't believe me when I said I don't have covid (I was tested that day for work & showed them proof) they still made me go through all these extra hoops WHILE I WAS HAVING AN ASTHMA ATTACK!!! The place is not a nice facility and I'm telling you right now, if you're going for something serious or you want to be treated with excellent care, find a HOAG HOSPITAL nearest to you... they are the best in the states!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
