I feel like words can't do enough justice for the level of care that Michael Russo had with me during his care. The whole experience from my 1st appointment to the after care was outstanding. He has a warm confidence that is assuring during the whole process. Truly can't thank you enough and can't recommend him more.

Excellent VSG experience, best decision ever! Dr Russo, the PAs, David, Liz, and everyone in the Memorial Care Orange coast hospital Bariatrics were wonderful. I first met Dr. Russo in May 2023. He was kind, calm, and I remember that I noticed he never once looked at my body. He does not fat shame or have any sort of archaic views of obesity. He affirmed my concerns and explained that the complications between hormones and obesity. The office helped me go through the pre-op steps. Memorial Care approved me within 5 days of receiving the paperwork. Dr. Russo’s office scheduled me as soon as they could. The surgery and postoperative recovery were great. The nurses and dietitians helped a lot. I attend free support groups run by a dietitian and a psychologist. I’m 6 weeks postop and have lost 31% weight. I saw Dr. Russo and he told me, “this is just the beginning of a new life!” If you want a superior surgeon, excellent team, high quality hospital, and if you want to change your life, I highly recommend Dr. Russo and Orange Coast!

Had a lot of pain after hernia surgery. I was told by a different doctor that my hernia surgery was was defective. Dr. Russo was very nice pre surgery. After surgery I feel he wanted nothing to do with me. I'm very unhappy with my choice to go here.

Disappointed I had the gastric sleeve done by Dr Russo in April 2021. My recovery went well, but I didn't feel much restriction, I called the right away to explain this and they just ignored my concerns. I feel like they had me flagged as 'difficult patient' every-time I called it was an attitude by their staff and they made it difficult. Dr Russo blamed me for my lack of losing weight and when I said can I have a revision he laughed. He is all about social media presence if you don't have the look they want, they treat you like a number. I am super hurt and disappointed that I didn't lose much and still have bad acid reflux. Going for a second opinion.

I'm very thankful I chose Dr. Russo to do my gastric sleeve. He is very friendly and answers all your questions. I love his staff.

Dr Michael Russo, MD with no doubt is the best in Gastric Balloon and Other Gastric Surgeries. Today "Jan 27th", I had Gastric Balloon done at "South Coast Specialty Surgery Center" with Dr. Michael Russo which went beyond my expectation and so well. After the process, I woke up very normal with zero pain. However it's been just couple hours still I have No Stomach discomfort, No Nausea, and No vomiting at all. I can do my personal things as always. and I also started getting back to work and checking my emails as regular as always. A big appreciation to Dr. Michael Russo and his team for their great work! I highly recommend Michael Russo, MD, very caring, very professional and well-experienced in his work! If i could add more starts I would add 1000 more starts for his great job! 🥰🙏 "Updated review after a WEEK"; I can't tell how happy I am with the decision I made. Still no vomiting neither nausea never after the process. I lost 12 pounds already 😁. You need to follow your diet and try to have more protein shakes (low in sugar and card) and more liquid. You may feel bloated sometimes which is normal. When I go walking I feel much better, so this process helped me to even increase my daily activities. So far so good. Stay tuned!

I absolutely love Dr Russo and his team. I had the gastric sleeve not because of weight issues but due to several medical issues along with severe migraines for over a year. After surgery I have not had a migraine! If anyone asks me if was worth it I say YES! Dr Russo is very attentive, answers your questions, made me feel comfortable and still offers help!
