List of Orange Coast Medical Center's Reviews
I don't review often. Only if it seems necessary. I have been to countless hospitals in my life. For myself and for others. This review is for the "Child Birthing Center" at Orange Coast. My wife and I went there due to a scare of her potentially developing preeclampsia. Literally, as soon as we checked in, a nurse was taking us into the back. Her name was Ginger and I can't sing her praises enough. From the moment we arrived she put my wife's mind at ease and took amazing care of her. She was kind, brought her food, brought em coffee and took the time to talk with us. If someone like that wants to work there, you know it's good. Everyone from the security guard to the people in the cafeteria were happy and kind. Been to L&D at both fountain valley and UCI. OCM by far hands down was the best hospital experience I've ever encountered. Highly recommend
Wow! I was very impressed with the level of care I received from the security guard, to my doctor, and the post operation care was excellent. Everyone I encountered treated me with professionalism, kindness and support for recovery.
I had to visit the Orange Coast ER last weekend. Everyone that I came in contact with was kind and helpful. I would especially like to thank Dr. Kim Nguyen, my nurse Verena, Cheyenne the x ray tech, Courtney the respiratory tech and the charge nurse Jeff. They took such good care of me, and made a stressful situation tolerable. Thank you so much for all you do!
This place is going down hill fast. They boost they are top notch but in fact seeing the ER dept and all the irate folks and some of the staff is so arrogant and unconcerned. They treat people as if they are not smart enoght to get info. The er doctors are something to leave to desire, the nurses are nasty and do know feel it is their jobs to info you of the care they give. I would seriously recommend finding another er that is better equipped to assist people in their medical help. This place has gone down and in the past year it shows. There are people left in halls crying out for help and direction. The drs do not have more than a second to talk and do not feel it is in your best interest to give your medical situation to you. I sure hope everyone that has similar experiences file complaints and go outside the hospital to the state level so that this can be contained outside the hospital environment. This place is really not what they are advertising. Patient care is horrible. The sheer attitude of the staff is ridiculous at best. If you want good care DO JOT GO HERE
I've never had a surgery done until yesterday 12/2/22 and may I say my nurse Kevin I'm the er and he's very attentive very great person my experience was great because of him and my surgeon dr Dina Amr made me feel comfortable have piece of mind and well all the staff was friend curtious and very profesional and very clean safety is there number one priority for being my first experience I feel great thank memorial care orange coast medical
Just a short note during Thanksgiving season to show my appreciation towards the care and compassion the ICU doctors and nurses provided during my father stay (11/02/2022 - 11/07/2022). I want to thank especially:- To Doctor Thomas Asciuto, the pulmonologist, who gave my father the best care and compassion possible. He spent time with the family members and explained my father conditions very thoroughly.- To RN Josh, a very skillful nurse. My father was always in comfortable state during RN Josh's shift. We felt ease when my father was under his care. - To the female head RN on 11/07/2022 day shift ( sorry, I did not ask her name). She was very kind, caring, and compassionate. She always gave a "yes" to any of my requests to fulfill my father's last wishes. - Last but not least, to NP Nathalee Truong, who was very nice, caring, helpful, timely responsive. She helped me to get doctor's signature to my father's death worksheet just in few hours after my distressed call for help. If not for her, my father's funeral was delayed to a great extent. NP Nathalee Truong is the best of the best medical professional ever. Again, my heartfelt thanks to 5 stars medical professionals: Doctor Asciuto, RN Josh, the head RN, and NP Nathalee Truong for your outstanding services.* An important note that I want to mention to OCM hospital management: If you are thriving for 5 stars: nurses/ doctors or anyone at OCM hospital who are responsible for certification of death worksheet: Please provide it on timely manner and do not ignore it. On time paperwork is the last care for your deceased patient and it is very important to his/her grieving family members.
I went to Memorial care for an outpatient surgical procedure. I then had to go back to the emergency room for unforeseen complications, which honestly takes nothing away from the great job they did for the procedure.. For both visits, from start to finish, I was treated with courtesy and professionalism and I was never left in the dark about what was going on. All of the medical professionals I encountered from the check in personnel to the surgeon we're dedicated compassionate professionals Who were responsive to any need I had an any information I requested. The procedure was a success and my life is a lot better for it. I was in a lot of pain when I returned to the ER and they got me in, got me evaluated, and got me treated very quickly. I would certainly go back to Memorial Care again for surgery and I would certainly recommend it to friends and family.
About 90% of the staff were rude and forgetful. I could peek out of the hall and see that everybody was just scrolling on their phones. Even the "doctor" himself was very brief and condescending with me. It seemed like every time I requested something, it was a huge wait or hassle in which the staff would be irritated about. I can see my infection spreading fast; but they dont seem to have as much knowledge about the particular of the subject as I do. The racial undertones were not fun either. Im from Huntington Beach, and have never experienced care like this. In fact, this might be my first yelp review.I didnt the mind the food, though.
My mother stayed here for two weeks due to liver cancer. The doctors, nurses, aids, and therapists were compassionate and took good care of her. We are grateful for all they've done.
My daughter was driving on the freeway when out of nowhere a vehicle hit her car. Two day later, my daughter developed increased headaches, intermittent bloody nose, dizziness and nausea to the point she can't keep anything down and she describes her upper back and her legs "feel like jelly". She went to Urgent Care but they said they're not equipped with a CT scan and she was sent to ED for comprehensive care. She was seen by an ED doctor and he ordered a head CT to rule out a concussion. 5 hours later she's still in the waiting room waiting for the CT to get done. While in the waiting room, other patients came in to ED, got taken to Radiology, blood draws were taken right there in the waiting room, and care was provided as needed. I can't imagine waiting 5 hours just for one CT scan! I am well aware and fully understand that the healthcare system is overwhelmed and that there is staffing shortages everywhere, not just this particular hospital, however, I feel that some patients are ignored and unless you speak up your care will be delayed. This is not a complaint, it's just the reality we experienced at this ED.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
