List of Shelley Chacon's Reviews
Among The Very Best We have been taking our teen son to Dr. Chacon for at least a couple of years and she is easily among the very best doctors we have gone to. Our son has unique health problems after having a liver transplant. He is immune-suppressed and has terrible allergies. Dr. Chacon truly cares for him and follows up on all and any treatments.
I've always been confident when taking my child to see providers at EMG. Doctors like NP Lana and Dr. Molina have always made us feel very comfortable. Today my child had an experience with Dr. Shelley Chacon that left her feeling extremely uncomfortable. As a care taker, it is alarming to see your child come out of an appointment feeling discomfort. As she attempted to explain her situation, Dr. Chacon scoffed and sighed, making several pointed remarks rather than offering the medical attention my child needed. She inserted her unsolicited opinion regarding sexual activity and abstinence toward a young woman and shamed her for her decisions. I welcome all viewpoints as everyone is entitled to their own opinion. However, this was neither the time nor place to make such unprofessional comments. She could have delivered her message within the context of medicine and left it at that. My child feels very uncomfortable from the interaction and will be seeking a different provider who can better meet her needs.
Dr. Chacon is rude. I took my child who had a fever in to see her. The school notified the parents strep throat was going around but Dr Chacon refused to do a strep test even though I asked for one. My child has a history of catching pneumonia but she didn’t even listen to his lungs. She did a flu test even though she inoculated him for the two strands she tested for. She complained about being at work than leaves the room without saying anything. I had to ask the receptionist if we were finished. I was afraid to leave without asking because before our appointment Dr Chacon was yelling at the receptionist for one of her patients leaving. The doctors appointment was a waste of time and my child is still stick and has been sick about 3 weeks.
I love Dr. Chacon. When for a pediatrician, I check everything about them: Education, Experience, Rating. Dr. Chacon exceeded in all of those categories. She has experience working at CHOC. Dr. Chacon genuinely cares for her patients and takes her time to examine them and answer questions. She never rushes and truly enjoys her profession.

We love Dr. Chacon, an educated pro-active strong pediatrician! Our 5 year old daughter has seen her since birth and with another one on the way, we couldn't be more confident in our choice for them. The FV staff is amazing!!! Thank you all for your excellent work!!!
Dr. Chacon may not be warm and fuzzy at first glance, but she is comitted, professional, and a very good pediatrician. When my daughter was born in November, Dr. C was prompt and stayed in my hospital room until all questions were answered and our minds were at ease, she even came to work on a Sunday as two other doctors were on maternity leave and there was work to be done. Fast forward to our six week appointment and my 3 year olds check-up date- Dr. Chacon saw both girls at once, which was great for me. She made small talk with my oldest daughter about being a big sister, and my daughter spoke fondly of our visit for several days afterward. She even told me that I was doing a "great job", which is all of the warm and fuzzy I need coming from my child's doctor. The icing on the cake was when just a bit ago, I called her office with a question about breast feeding. I'll be darned if Dr.Chacon didn't call me back in about five minutes, offering me very good and practical advice. I would highly recommend this wonderful and very competent doctor to all who I know.
I took my 2month old son for his vaccines, His pediatrician is Dr.Lam Nguyen but since she was booked I got an appointment with Dr.Shelly Chacon. I regret making an appointment with her! She was very rude, she got into the room were we were waiting for her & the first thing she says is " I need to hurry up because I need to Leave" Me & my husband looked at each other thinking did she just say that. she told us to undress my baby so the nurse outside could check his weight & height & after to go back in the room. when we went back in the room she quickly said according to the growth chart he is normal, "any questions"? since we didnt have any questions she just left the room rudely. I will never make an appointment with Dr.Chacon we had a horrible experience. I will rather wait weeks for for an available appointment with his pediatrician Dr. Nguyen whom I like & is a very good Dr.
We went to see Dr Chacon on a Saturday. As soon as we walked in she starting ranting and getting upset telling us that she should be at home with her children rather than seeing my 3 year old daughter. Dr Chacon incorrectly stated their policy regarding Saturdays. My 3 year old is scared to go to see the doctor after this visit. When we take her she promptly says Daddy we are not going to see that woman are we. As a Pediatrician you are supposed to set the childs mind at ease and have them relax. With Dr. Chacon she has the opposite effect. Dr. Chacon was so upset I don't feel that my daughter got her proper attention. As we left she went out into the hall and started yelling at the receptionist. I can imagine the only thing worse than having to go to her for a doctors visit would be having to work for her.
We took our 3 year old to see Dr. Chacon on a Saturday. We did not choose her. When we arrived on time I might add she started getting irate and telling us that we were late and she should be home with her children but due to us she was not. She made my 3 year old scared and still to this day over a year later when we tell her we are going to the Doctor my daughter says we are not going to that lady are we Daddy? She is very unprofessional and when we left she went out of the room and started yelling at the receptionist. Dr Pellman who is also at the same location is our normal doctor and he is fantastic. Dr. Chacon is awful and should choose a new profession. The worst experience of going to a Doctor in my entire life.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
