List of Vidal Espeleta's Reviews
We will not be returning, unfortunately, to Dr. Espeleta. His office staff is rude, and unprofessional.
I don't know about his actual care since I was in the ICU, but his billing practices I feel are unethical. I was hounded by his billing dept for the last 10$ owed. I paid that and thought I was done. 4 YEARS later I get another bill demanding 400$ and that it was PAST DUE and they were going to send me to collections because they haven't heard from me? I also found that I had a "credit" of 10$. I asked why this wasn't returned to me and they responded with "we don't return extra payments unless requested". How was I supposed to know if I had a credit since they never sent a final statement. I called on Dec 23, 2020 to get my overpayment back. I was told it would take 2-3 weeks time to receive it. I called on 1-28-21, still no answer on when i will get the money but they are working on it. Called again on 2-8-20, Now they say it's going through "review" and that it could take another 10 days. So I have been waiting a month and a half to get my overpayment back. I don't feel that is right. I keep getting a brush off when asking for a date that the money will be returned. I wonder how many other patients he has done this to?
A “real” Dr who cares and give to patients excellent attention
Dr. Espeleta has been my Pulmonologist for several years and I have felt heard and cared for. I recently had a COPD event and he adjusted his vacation to be there for me. I would recommend him highly.
I WAS SENT TO DR ESPELETA for a sleep study. I saw him for the initial intake and he was extremely patient ,didn't rush, explained everything in lay terms so I could understand and was very kind. After the study I was to see him for a follow up appointment. Instead, two days before ,he called me with the results. Instead of pushing drugs to solve my no sleeping he offered an alternative called shuti.com, I was very impressed and happy. I have multiple sclerosis and have tried a few things for sleep but they affect me the next day. Very impressed with his bedside manner, if I ever need a pulmonary dr. he is my man!!
Dr. Espeleta came highly recommended. I was very impressed with his office staff and with him. He's very caring, very knowledgeable and takes his time to sincerely consider individual needs.
Wow. A pulmonary doctor who listens, researches for unusual diagnoses and doesn't drop the ball. In the hospital, goes to the bedside every day, actually listens to and examines the patient. Didn't know how rare that is! And figured out additional diagnoses and solutions other docs had missed. What a pleasure to get someone who's smart, attentive, kind too. A big difference, and made such a big difference in my care.
I am unable to communicate with his secretary. She gives me the feeling she is occupied on another matter - doing something else - detached - when I call the office and talk to her. I have written two letters to Dr. Espeleta saying I would like to join his practice because my pulmonologist, Dr. David Law has recently retired, but to no effect. I have not received a reply to either. Two patients of his have recently told me of their difficulties in understanding and communicating with Dr. Espinosa's secretary - both were in an excellent pulmonary rehabilitation class of Dr. Law's in this past month.
Always in a hurry. Paid the full amount with sleep apnea study but no result was given. Better look for other pulmo specialist.
Outstanding care and diagnostic skill. One of the best.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
