My doctor prescribed lifelong physiotherapy for me because of an autoimmune condition, so I've been going to ESPT for years. The therapy has helped prevent painful muscle spasms that I used to get sometimes and is also helping me manage pain. I did try a couple of other therapy places earlier, but decided to continue at ESPT because Dr. Kim is very knowledgeable, efficient and accommodating. The assistants are friendly. Cherise, who manages the center, is very helpful and prompt in response. Appointments are easily available, and there's no wait. Oftentimes they spend more than my allotted time, in order to complete the assigned exercises, traction, etc. I recommended ESPT to a friend, who is also very happy getting treatment here.
I first started PT about 5 years ago after a car accident. Luckily, I didn't have any major injuries but I did have shoulder and neck pain. I was really impressed by Dr. Kim's dedication and understanding. Since then I have had some age-related arthritis in my knee and hip, and I still go to ESPT once a week. In this time, I have worked with a lot of wonderful student PTs. Even though many patients are helped by students, Dr. Kim is very involved in everyone's treatment. She always has an ear and eye on everything that is going on. Dr. Kim really is a Superwoman! The depth of her knowledge amazes me and each patient that is treated by a student PT is also under Dr. Kim's care - she is constantly listening and teaching. She is very invested in the cause of your condition, the effects of the exercises, and what will improve with PT. I really admire Dr. Kim and how she listens to your concerns, takes an interest in each patient, and takes the time to explain everything to you. She is very knowledgeable and is the best teacher to her students. Dr. Kim has an amazing attitude and I admire the way she is involved in each patient's care. The entire staff is very accommodating and pleasant from the moment you walk in the door. If you have any physical therapy needs, definitely go to ESPT!
Best place for Physical Therapy in Fremont. Very conveniently located with excellent quality care from Dr Kim Huey
ESPT was my first experience with physical therapy. Dr. Kim and her team of highly qualified learning professionals assessed and developed a plan to heal my wrist injury that had stopped getting better on its own. Over the course of a few visits, ESPT took me from intermediate pain on many daily tasks to absolutely zero discomfort by teaching me how to properly use my wrist in addition to leading me through strength training exercises. I am overjoyed by the progress I was able to make under their guidance. Thank you, Dr Kim (and Cherise, Jordan, and Nami)!
ESPT is simply the best Physical Therapy I have ever visited! An enjoyable place to experience physical therapy under the leadership of Dr Kim with a team of young and enthusiastic intern students and staff physical therapists! From the first visit when Dr Kim spent time patiently listening to my issues and my goals, and explained to me in details what they will do to help and what I can expect, I already got the feeling that I would be in good hands. The subsequent visits only proved that my instinct was correct. They would plan out all my activities even before I arrived, and most of all, I am treated with politeness, professional teaching and monitoring, and warm and caring attitude. Furthermore, my physical issues have made tremendous progress under their supervision. I highly recommend ESPT without reservation!
I have been working with Dr. Kim and the ESPT team now for approximately three months and my experience has been STELLAR! From the time that you walk in and engage with Cherise, until the time that you leave, you are made to feel like you are family. Everyone is incredibly professional, punctual and knowledgeable. I have been incredibly fortunate to work with just about everyone during my recovery sessions and the thing that has stood out to me (aside from the three adjectives I used above) is how creative everyone is. The team takes whatever your own personal goal(s) is (or are) and figures out unique ways of working those nuances into your care program. This level of attention to detail permeates throughout the organization beginning with Dr. Kim. I've enjoyed my time so much that I have even recommended some of my own friends to the practice. Looking forward to the remainder of our time together.
Contacted them trying to get an appointment via email for an initial consultation. Expressed my issue and what I needed help with. Was left completely ignored when I had expressed that I was interested in coming in immediately. Guess their business doesn't need new clients. Will try to find help at another facility.
I completed my second internship of the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program here in the summer of 2023. Now, as a new graduate physical therapist working at a different outpatient orthopedic clinic, I can confidently say that my experience here was truly phenomenal. Where do I begin? Before starting this internship, my only prior clinical experience was in an acute care hospital, so I definitely felt some pressure and nervousness about performing well in this particular setting. The only experience I ever received in an outpatient physical therapy clinic was my role as a physical therapy aide. Regardless, I expected Dr. Kim to have very high expectations. However, that wasn't the case at all. From the moment I walked through the doors, Dr. Kim welcomed me with open arms and immediately made me feel at ease. During my 12-week internship at Elite Sports Physical Therapy (ESPT), my knowledge of sports rehabilitation expanded significantly. Dr. Kim excels in teaching manual therapy skills and provides the perfect balance of supervision, ensuring I felt both confident and capable in treating patients, even as a student. One of the most valuable lessons I gained from this experience was learning creative and engaging ways to rehabilitate sport-related injuries, something that school curricula oftentimes struggle with. From mastering plyometric progressions and regressions to understanding the nuances of criteria-based rehab, Dr. Kim's guidance has been instrumental in shaping my approach. These skills have proved incredibly useful in my current role as a new graduate physical therapist, especially when working with patients recovering from ACL injuries. Before this internship, I had no exposure to tools like the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) or Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). Dr. Kim incorporates evidence-based practices into every treatment plan, ensuring they are both effective and research-supported. Additionally, having students from various schools as my peers during my rotation here, was extremely helpful as it allowed for me to expand on more of my skills and approach to treating various pathologies. In addition to treating a sports-specific population, ESPT also provides care for a wide range of pathologies and conditions. During my time here, I had the opportunity to work with my first patients diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). This allowed me to develop and implement diverse plans of care that extended beyond the sports-focused treatment theme. The experience was invaluable, as it enabled me to apply and refine many of the concepts I learned in school, consolidating my knowledge through the diverse opportunities I had at this clinic. In summary, I can say without hesitation that my experience here was exceptional. Dr. Kim, if you're reading this, thank you so much for helping me succeed in physical therapy school and for guiding me to where I am today. I continue to use many of the techniques and therapeutic exercises you taught me! Lastly, Joseph, Cherise, and Steven, if you guys are reading this, I miss you all and I hope you're doing well!
I learned about ESPT via a recommendation from Stanford's Ortho department. The team here is really awesome! Their office is clean and well-stocked with gear, Dr. Kim Huey (the owner and lead PT) and her team are extremely friendly and competent, and I've been able to make quick progress with their help in my recovery from a torn Achilles tendon. Highly recommended.
I had the privilege of being part of the ESPT team as an intern in Spring of 2024. This was my first internship experience in a physical therapy clinic and looking back on it I learned a lot. Dr Kim is very confident and competent in what she does and ensures her patients are receiving the best treatment all while having an enjoyable time at the clinic. It was very interesting for me to watch her demonstrations of how she explains specific exercises to patients because she takes the time to educate them on why it is beneficial for them. Additionally, she has other physical therapy aides who are very skilled in what they do and I learned a lot about how patient sessions should be carried out. ESPT also has a lot of neat equipment that you might not find at your average exercise facility. Equipment like the alter-g, lumbar traction and Dynamo are very good tools to use during the rehab process depending on your injury and were very fun to use. Overall a very enjoyable experience!
