Marjorie Alpert's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Alpert is an arrogant doctor who won't listen to parents/patients. My LO has bad eczema, I did low salicylate diet which been helping my LO tremendously. When I mentioned about it her responsed was "that's interesting, I'm big on nutrition and salicylate is not in fruits or veggies. It's in aspirin..." anyhow.. at that point I made a decision to never go back. Please do your research doctor, you don't know all snd it's ok to say I'm not very familiar with that.One other thing was, my LO has egg allergy and she said it was ok for my LO to have flu shot containing egg and It wouldn't  be a problem. Please don't bring your kids to see this doctor.

We went to see Dr. Alpert for my daughter's yearly checkup. Unfortunately, we had to wait for her for more than one hour after our original appointment time. I think it is important for the doctor to be on time, or they should have notified us beforehand to reschedule the appointment if they were overbooked.This was my daughter's regular checkup but the doctor ordered some eye exams, for which the health insurance company considered as experimental/investigational and refused for reimbursement. I cannot understand why she ordered something which are not necessary for my daughter's regular preventive checkup. So ironic!

Let me start off by saying I am a former patient that grew through this practice from infancy up until the end of my adolescence. I have fond memories at this place that I can remember from the superior experience given from the time Dr. Dorsey was there and then moved over to Dr. Amendola. I am now 32 years old and recently had a baby. I loved this particular practice and my childhood Pediatrician so much that I switched insurance just so my kids can be seen here. Luckily, I got to cross paths with Amendola again before she left! Still such a sweet and empathetic lady. My daughter has been irritable so I made an appointment and the next doctor I remember on the list that’s still there was Dr. Alpert. I saw her a few times from what I remember, but don’t recall my experience. However, after this last visit, I will NOT see her again or recommend her. She was pretty nice and social for the first few minutes then basically wanted to cut to the chase and asked what my baby was being seen for, we told her she’s been a bit irritable possibly due to teething. All she did was tell us that it’s a possibility that she is and all she did was check her ears (which is fine because that cancels out ear infections) but didn’t even bother checking her gums to see any signs that I might’ve missed even if you can’t see anything. Just do a full freaking inspection… At least make it look like your doing your job and not trying to have us in and out like fast food. What pushed me over the edge was when she asked if I had another child, how old, and if they’ve been Vaccinated by COVID yet and I said no. She drops her pen and turns over to me in a condescending manner and tells me that “I should” get them vaccinated…. She then asked if my husband and I were vaccinated and I told her that we’re not. She had the audacity to say “Well, it’s not about you. We need to protect others” First of all, you do NOT tell me wtf to do with my kids. Just cause you’re a doctor doesn’t mean anything to me. Matter of fact, you should be suggesting preventative measures for care because that’s what you’re immune system does- DUH! Second, I’m here for my other child for a different reason. Third, I am not your patient for you tell me what I should do. Lastly, as a doctor you should be empathetic to your patients caregivers choices (because you don’t know their reasoning) and it’s NOT your call or business to tell me what you think I should be doing for me and my kids. You can make recommendations, but don’t tell others what they should do based on your opinion. Totally unprofessional and uncalled for. I have Dr. Dobbs last on my list of Physicians to see and I hope she doesn’t disappoint. Otherwise, I’m looking elsewhere.

This is a long overdue review since our first born is now 10 years old.  10 years ago being first time parents we've put 100% of our trust in doctors and believe everything that they said.  I regret every bits of it to this day.  Our daughter were diagnosed with jaundice at the hospital and was under special lights to bring it down. We were told to followed up with pediatrician shortly after discharge to keep track of it.. now after having 2 more kids, our current pediatrician sent them to get blood work done to check on the level of bilirubin.  We had to bring our 3rd baby back to the hospital to monitor her levels and to be put under special lights for 2 days.  If it was that critical to send my 3rd child back to the hospital to treat jaundice, this doctor was clearly neglecting the proper order of blood work order for my first born.  You'll see with this doctor, she used her BARE EYES and compared my daughter's jaundice level with her skin and the white parts of her eyes!!! I know jaundice is common and being first parents back then, have trusted her every words when she said they will grow out of it and nothing is to be concerned about.  The baby's skin became dark and it take weekssss for her to grow out of it and return to her Lighter skin tone.  The  same thing she said when my daughter had crossed eyes after the combo shots she was given at 3 months.  This resulted in 2 operations on her eyes and thousands of photos memories that we took for my daughter with the crossed eyes.  Each time we look at her baby photo, it reminded me of this doctor.  To this date I have regretted so much for seeing this doctor and putting my trust in her.Since then I have learned an expensive lesson in which I can never forgive myself.  Thankfully after the experience. We've found a new pediatrician whom we love and appreciate.. she thoroughly explains things, brings things up to us and never rushed her appointments EVER, when comparing to this doctor DO NOT PUT YOUR TRUST HERE.  Writing this review still make my blood boils.

Good doctor, who is attentive and knowledgable

I saw Dr Alpert for the first time because we couldnot see Dr Dobbs. She behaved as if why we came to see her. She was not bothered about our concerns and her session was very rushed. She spoke a lot of things that were out of context and she treated us just like case number n. The horrible part is their after hours phone support routes your call to some nurse in cleveland and who charges $35. She is not even easily accessible by phone or email. They want to make money out of patients suffering. I just hate this place and would not go here again.

I needed an immediate appointment for my 4 year old daughter and Dr Alpert was available, so i made the appointment. she was friendly to me my daughter and my other daughters that were in the exam room. sometimes multiple siblings can be overwhelming in an exam room and she did not seem to mind. She was genuinely concerned and even followed up later with a call to me to see how my daughter was doing. So i made another appointment for my other 2 daughters physicals and she was just as nice and the girls all liked her. She called me when one of my girls had iron deficiency and sent iron prescription to the pharmacy that worked for me. My other daughter forgot to ask her a question, so we called Dr. Alpert and she called back the same day and answered all her question and made her feel at ease and that her new Dr. was on her side.
