Probably one of the most difficult and historic physicians to have as your primary care provider. Whenever there is a concern about current illness plan of care or routine management Dr. Velasco’s answer always reverts to going to the emergency department rather than handling the case as an outpatient. It is very difficult when you are faced with thousands of dollars per visit to an emergency department for something that should be handled as an outpatient with prescribed medications. Dr. Velasco speaks as though you are beneath him and is very historic in his approach to care. I had even asked for a work note explaining that I had been seen that day and would not be able to return to work the following day until my symptoms were under control which he denied saying I should “get back to work.” Will be seeing a DO in the future.

Dr. Velasco is very patient with his patients and takes his time with each of us. He listens intently to what we say and maybe more important to what we dont say. He is very perceptive and caring.

Dont bother taking babies in to this doctor. I got new insurance and was assigned this doctor for my 4 month old. They wanted my 4 month old to wait 5 months for an appointment because we are new patients.

56 months to get in. Nice doctor but if you have a real medical problem he is not right for you. Appointment desk makes mistakes making the wait worse.
