List of Alimasuya Joseph's Reviews
I had seen Dr.Alimasuya as a child and he is an amazing person, well informed in his field and a go getter on top of it. Him teaching and informing me is one of the many skills that he had. I would recommend him all day. His office even has posters that helped me! He is an amazing person. I am so greatful for him. God bless!
We are very, very happy with our choice to see Dr. Alimaysu as our pediatric mental health provider. I suggest takkng some of these reviews with a grain of salt, especically the one that keeps referenceing Koren BBQ chips LOL, and the reviews that mention his staff from over 5 years ago. His current staff is nothing short of exceptional. Dr. Alimaysu is incredibly intelligent, kind, and well respected within his field. He is extremely knowledgable of mental health. So much so, that Dr. Alimaysu is a contributor/author to the DSM-5, which is the official standard of research and book that practicing psychiatrists use to diagnose patients. There are only approx 200-300 drs worldwide that contributed to this book. Worldwide! We are lucky to have him in our community. Both my children have been seen several times by Dr. Alimaysu, so I leave this review in confidence, all of our visits have been great. He diagnosed my son correctly on the 1st visit after being unintentionally being misdiagnosed and treated for years by another dr. My daughter is a little tougher to diagnose, but I feel we are almost there, she is worlds better than she was two months ago. It seems some reviewers dont understand mental health isnt like other disorders where you can do a series of physical tests to find your illness. Mental health is a little bit of trial and error sometimes to get the correct medication and diagnosis. Thats just how it is. For some reviewers who mentioned his personality, we think he is a fun and kind, very interactive dr. There may be a cultural barrier for some, but Dr is very passionate about his profession. Thats what I want in a dr. INFORMATION REGARDING THE DSM-5 "From identifying autism in children to diagnosing complex mood disorders in adults, mental health professionals rely on a single, authoritative guide that has shaped psychiatric care for millions of patients worldwide. This guide, known as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5), is the cornerstone of mental health diagnostics and treatment planning. It's a hefty tome, filled with intricate details and criteria that can make or break a diagnosis. But don't worry, we're about to embark on a journey through its pages, demystifying the complex world of mental health disorders along the way." Dr. Alimasuya is absolutely one of the best psychiatrists. His expertise and level of competence surpass most. He keeps up with cutting edge research and new psychopharmaceutic treatments. He is patient, caring and takes his time to explain and consider options. His office staff is respectful and helpful.
If you’re wanting a caring psychiatrist to meet the needs of your child or yourself on any level of somebody who’s understanding and empathetic, do not go to this doctor. Joseph alimasuya Is the most egotistical man I have ever come across; that’s a horrible quality in any man, but especially a mental health professional. He Does not Take questioning his authority well so if he tells you to shove pills down your kids throat, you better do it, Or he’ll throw a tantrum like a toddler. He doesn’t seem to care about meeting the needs of the patient, he just enjoys hearing himself talk. If you like a mental health professional, whose ego is easily bruised Then he’s your guy.
Not recommended Changed meds repeatedly for a stable patient.
I just seen this Dr for my daughter and just because she don’t like Korean BBQ sauce she is autistic and all I wanted to know if my daughter has ADD or not. He didn’t listen to me I told him my daughter isn’t autistic. Just because someone don’t like a certain bbq sauce don’t mean that your autistic. He asked me what’s so wrong with autistic people. I told him that I don’t have a problem with them I just know that my daughter isn’t autistic. And try to put my daughter on a medication that treat schizophrenia and other severe mental health issues. When my daughter dosent have.
Called to inquire if he was accepting new patients and confirm my Blue Shield PPO insurance. I had inquired with my provider and he was listed. I was told he was accepting patients and I gave them my insurance information. Again confirmed with my provider that he was a contracting Dr. the receptionist stated they did NOT accept my insurance and rudely suggested I contact my provider. I reiterated that I had spoke with them before calling. He did not ask for my member id nor attempt to help. I called back 2 hours later to be put on a " brief" hold. 8 minutes later he returned from the anxiety producing Muzak I was subjected to. At this point I'm done and clearly tell him where he can go...I have no idea if Joe is qualified or not, I'll just say if a therapeutic atmosphere is what you seek they 'ain't it.
Not impressed This DR. Was not only running 45 minutes late, he was rude, rushed and handled us with non-care during our initial appt. I also found him to be extremely unprofessional in the manner he spoke to myself and my 11yo. I'm hoping our follow up appt goes differently or I'll be switching offices and practitioners.
He asked me if I was straight or crooked, tried to convince me I was bipolar the whole time, and said women should never drink alcohol. Overall a bizarre experience.
Waste of time

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
