I had Lasik performed by Dr. Maxwell and could not be more happy. He and his staff were extremely thorough and friendly throughout the entire process. During the consult, procedure & follow up appointment Dr. Maxwell took the time to explain everything and made sure that as the patient I understood what would be happening & felt comfortable. Highly recommend him & his office!

Been a patient of Dr Maxwell's for 10 years now. I had cataract surgery 2 years ago by him and couldn't be happier. Dr Maxwell has always treated me with the utmost professionalism and staff is friendly. If you want a top eye care doctor, I recommend Dr Maxwell.

Please do your research on this doctor first! Back in August 2020, Dr. Maxwell performed cataract surgery for my father. He ended up having complications during the surgery, which led us to look for another doctor in San Jose to finish the job and restore his eyesight. The complication began when Dr. Maxwell removed my father's natural lens, ripped the "lens bag" in the process, and was unable to replace it, leaving my father without eyesight. To make matters worse, Dr. Maxwell did not inform us immediately of the complication and allowed my father to go home. My dad's vision on that eye went from 40% to 0%. Later that day, he requested for my father to return to the office, something the surgical center staff thought was unusual as patients do not normally return the same day. At this point we knew something was wrong. Please note that Dr. Maxwell sent my father home without a patch, eye uncovered, and with only one set of eye drops. Later that day the doctor explained to us that he had ripped the lens bag and blamed my father's medication (mind you Dr. Maxwell knew upfront what medication my dad was taking). The doctor would not look at my dad, appeared really nervous, and was very fidgety during the post-op visit. He made a mistake and it was apparent he did not know how to rectify it. As you can imagine, we were quite worried and anxious after leaving his office. We immediately got on the phone and looked for another doctor to give us a second opinion. We found an amazing doctor in San Jose who said what Maxwell had done should never have happened regardless of my dad's medication. The patient care was night and day between Maxwell and the new doctor. The new doctor was thorough and very confident, something Maxwell lacks. The examination and scans alone with the new doctor took an hour (not including consultation) - Maxwell had performed only 10% of what the new doctor had done in preparation for the surgery. The new doctor prescribed my father 4 new eye drops to help him heal faster and avoid infection (Maxwell 1). When we informed Maxwell's staff that we would not be returning, they were rude. They were rude to the new doctor's office staff when all they were trying to do is get a copy of his chart. HERE IS THE WORST PART. Red flag #1: The surgery took place in Watsonville. Dr. Maxwell does not have an actual practice/office in Watsonville! He is based out of Fresno and rents out the surgical center in Watsonville. The new doctor's office staff could not locate him in Watsonville and neither could we. All we had was a number to the surgical center. Red flag #2: He goes by Andrew Maxwell in Fresno and William Maxwell in Watsonville. Red flag #3: Maxwell has 1 star in his personal Fresno Yelp profile, and 2.5 stars at the Fresno eye care center where he practices. Save yourself some stress and pain and find another doctor!

He did my laser eye surgery and it's been 5 years now. It was fast, easy, and I haven't had any negative side effects. Don't know what all the negative reviews are going on about.

I usually see Dr Fogg, however; he was out of town. Dr Maxwell saw me, and I have been seen by him several times since. I believe him to be very knowledgeable, kind, and patient and up/front. I trust him.

DO NOT GO TO DR. MAXWELL!!!! Every appointment I would login and wait 20 minutes (after my appointment was scheduled) to be called back. I was coming here every few months and they would still ask the same questions and have no records of previous questions, everything would have to be reentered. I always needed an extra scan and would let the person know, they would always forget and not give it to me. After going through the questions and pressure test I would sit again for 10-20 minutes. I would get called back and then be told I need the scan that I had been telling the first person I needed. I would wait 5 minutes to get that scan and then be put in the chair waiting for the doctor. Another 5-15 minute wait. Once Dr. Maxwell came in he would look at my eyes and say "not better" and be done. His assistant would tell me that she was going to send the results to my neurologist, this never happened. Usually took 2-3 calls from me and my neurologist for them to send the scans. Well the original documents are in color, but would send a black and white scan to my neurologist. The notes would be "no change". The last time I was told no change in my condition, I was about to get another procedure and many MRIs. I saw a neuro-opthamologist back at home who told me I was actually cured and slowly healing. I almost had a needle in my spine again because of Dr. Maxwell's negligence. I tried to talk to the office manager who never returned my phone call. I only went here because my insurance would only cover this clinic (I am from out of town). I will never go back here and would suggest for people to stay away!

Overbooked office visits, overbooked physician and overbooked surgery. My cataract surgery was a horrible experience. Everything is done for Dr. Maxwell's convenience. It does not feel that the patient is really being considered on any personal level. The lens was a real disappointment. I do not think I was given enough time and information before or after surgery by the doctor. I had my second cataract surgery done elsewhere, and it was a wonderful experience.

Can't see 10 feet ahead without glasses and I was farsighted for 71 years. Halos and blurred vision are are constant. Have been seeing Dr. Maxwell for 4 months and my vision is terrible. Oh yes, I can read without glasses but can't see anything clearly without them. Feel that I was talked into lens that promise great vision and my vision is soooo much worse. I feel like a lab experiment patient and it went wrong. Don't fall for this lens as it is awful and you end up paying $6000.00 out of pocket for terrible vision. Also your medical insurance pays a huge bill for the surgery and hospital. A lot of money for a lousy lens. Also, if you tell the Dr. the truth he feels threatened.
