List of Castro Irma's Reviews
I personally like Dr Castro. She is upfront and doesn’t sugar coat things. She gives you a care plan follow it . Simple
Sbe trains interns and that's why I give two, otherwise I'd give one star. An angry gerbil came in to the exam room today and this ended my relationship with her and her office. She may need to retire and let me suggest this to you, Dr. Castro. Let you interns see patients and you advise. I had a firm for you to fill out and you said, "we charge for that." So much for the Hipicratic Oath. You charge for that? The staff is not answering the phone with no way to get your office a message, I'll tempered tweets. Bedside manner is for baby boomer doctors? I'm done. I'll find another doctor.
understanding a no nonsense Dr. When I first meet Dr Castro she was short and to the point. I told her what was wrong and shared some of my past abuses. I remember what she told me. Your health is your responsibility, if you continue to abuse yourself don’t expect a miracle from me however if you continue to stay clean and fallow my recommendations you can live a good and healthy life….
Horrible office. I am not going to rate the doctor but the office is not competent. They sent my prescription to Corte Maders which is 4 hours or more from Madera, California. They have a phone answer message that says they are out fir lunch and will be back at 1 pm. It's 2 and they are out to lunch permanently.
Find a real doctor!!!! I made a formal complaint with CalViva in regards to treatment not given to my mother. Sra. Castro replied again with lies. It seems that her workers are afraid of her. I requested one of the workers to give her my messages (she never called me) and he said: sorry but I can’t say that to her. My mom never received an answer in regards to her problem and we were taken out of the examination room. I asked the front desk to tell her I would wait at the waiting room for an answer. I left because my mom felt uncomfortable being there for about 40 min and no one came out. Why go to the so called doctor when you need treatment and she does not care to even call the patient and review the problem? I switched my mom to another clinic and not only did they treat her with respect, but they went above and beyond to take care of my mom’s problem. She had an XRay referral made the same day along with blood work. In addition, she will be given something to help with the pain as we wait for her next appointment to check the results. Castro needs to find another career because she clearly can’t handle what she does right now. Also, be careful because she constantly lies to save her so called practice. Simple: Find a real Doctor
No good unprofessional, no care nor compassion or urgency for patients. She’s very rude as well. Should’ve chose a different career..
Do not go to this dr! My Mom was a patient there and they are so rude from the front office not greeting the patient to the doctor saying she “didn’t know” why my mom’s BP was high. My mom had a few referrals by this Castro “doctor” and wasn’t able to get approved by her insurance which meant this doctor had to redo referrals to other MD’s but of course being that she is so rude she totally had a bad attitude about it. I can’t believe anyone can treat patients this way. My mom left this place feeling helpless because she has more than one problem that needs to be solved but couldn’t get anything done. It’s so obvious this doctor hates her job including everyone in this facility, I feel bad for any other patient who comes across this.
I've had many issues here. I don't come here, my mom does. So I have to translate. A while back receptionist gave me another person's bloodwork paperwork. W the last name Brown. When I let her know she denied it, I gave her lab paper back, and said my mom's information... There's been 5 times, I took my mom to her appointment, none of her staff called to cancel. So when I confronted the receptionist, said she didn't have an appointment! I had my mom take out the appointment card, didn't apologize! Said DR on Vacation. Asked to keep the appointment card. I said No! Now I been trying to call since Friday to make an appointment, no one answers! I've given this place too many chances, because the Doctor Knows what she's doing, I'll give her that. She is Rude though, & stares at you ugly when you say something she doesn't agree with! & didn't like the fact she compared their age. My mom's worked in the Fields all of her Life! She's fell from a Ladder picking Olives, so many other things happened working in the field! She walks w a limp. DR had the Opportunity to be born here & get an Education. So you two have lived 2 Completely Different lifestyles! I usually work 17-18hrs a day. I didn't want to look for another provider & Place isn't far from me, but this is not okay.
Terrible Doctor In my opinion this person should not be treating patients. She is honestly an overall terrible person. She is rude, inconsiderate, lacks listening skills, and lacks compassion. No person should see this “doctor”. She is no professional.
RUN! I filed a complaint to the California Medical Board on her. Dr. Castro found a lump in my breast in February 2022. But instead of telling my insurance company to have a mammogram done asap, Dr. Castors made me wait until July! See, July would have been my annual mammogram. So for 5 months I was wondering if I had breast cancer. When I told the WISH clinic, the mammogram place, they told me that Dr. Castro should have called to have my breasts checked asap. Luckily everything was fine. But did I really need to wonder if I had breast cancer for 5 months? And imagine if I did? I could have died. Also, I think Dr. Castros has an alcohol or substance abuse problem. Once she left me in the patient room for 45 minutes and said she forgot I was there. And then when she read my results from a procedure, she was swaying in an elliptical fashion. She was sitting on her stool, but her torso would sway around in an oval shape. Not to mention that when she sat down she said, "The [name of other doctor] should be reading this to you. They don't pay me enough!" And the slammed the file on the desk. I reported this to my insurance company only for Dr. Castro to lie and say not only that the whole thing never happened, but that she doesn't even use files. Yes, Dr. Castro had the nerve to tell my insurance company that she doesn't use paper files. And we all know that is a lie. Then she tried to make look like I had a mental illness by telling the insurance company I "wasn't taking my medication." Do you know what medication she was referring to? She was referring to a hypothyroid medication she MISTAKENLY prescribed to me. And had I taken this medication I could have died. Yes, I wasn't taking it because I never had hypothyroidism. But rather than being specific, Dr. Castro just told my insurance company I "wasn't making the medication" in an effort to undermine my credibility. Dr. Castro lies. Dr. Castro also referred me to Dr. Camille Marquez. Dr. Marquez was a horrible doctor, even worse than Dr. Castro But when I tried to get Dr. Castro to refer me to someone else her office would never return my calls. Dr. Castro is the worst and should have her license revoked.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
