Awesome team worth the wait and they save lives

Dr. Kevin Boran is a terrific doctor, and deserves every star I gave him. My cardio doctor referred me to him saying he is the only cardio surgeon he would go to. In Feb this year it was determined through multiple cardio tests, including a Cardio CT scan at Harbor UCLA Medical Center, that I had some seriously blocked arteries... and I felt like my situation needed immediate attention. I did not want to risk a heart attack. He worked me into his hectic schedule the next day. He came into the exam room, sat down and was focused on me. He looked at all the diagnostic work I had done prior to the appointment and confirmed that I did need a surgeon's attention. He scheduled my surgery early the next week at the Fresno Heart Hospital. It was a very good experience, given that it was angioplasty and stent placement. Turned out I needed 4 stents. It was a complicated job that required two days to complete. He did three stents the first day, kept me over night and did the fourth stent on day two. He called my wife after each surgery and was very detailed and reassuring with her and had a calming effect. I spent most of day two in recovery and was released to go home that night.After the surgery I was having problems with my meds, some rapid heart beats, high blood pressure 160 over 90, and anxiety. I called his service on Sunday night at 10 PM looking for help and he personally called me back within 5 minutes, he calmed me down and suggested I add back an old medicine, and then wean myself off more slowly which I did.I've seen some people online complaining about his office wait times, which is probably true, you may wait an hour or more. The good news is that he sees everyone in the waiting room before he leaves, I know because I was the last patient one day. But having seen this Doctor's schedule first hand, he is actually the Energizer Bunny. I don't know many people who could keep up with him. He is in surgery most mornings, and then long office hours most afternoons. And my bet is that everybody gets quality time with him.I'm not sure if he saved my life, but he probably did and I am grateful for having met him.Thank you Dr. Boran.Brian O.    Fresno, CA

Very professional and talented and tells you in away you can understand

Staff are not accommodating. The doctor is good but expect to wait for hours to get his time. The staff do not care to assist elderly that need assistance walking due to covid flu. I asked multiple times for assistance for someone and the staff say its there policy not to assist.Doctor is good but long waits. Staff would get 1 star for responsiveness when booking appointments to accepting entry of patients.Parking is a nightmare. Not enough space its beyond challenging to get a spot

Ridiculous wait times! On one of my appointments, I had already been waiting 1 1/2 hours when In waltzed Dr. Boran and several office girls with a big birthday cake after an obviously a long lunch party. I was appalled and furious. On another occasion, Dr. Boran took a cell call from his wife during my exam. The final straw was when he took a phone call DURING my husband's cardio-conversion ( heart shocking) procedure in the hospital!! Unbelievable! Most unprofessional office ever.

Dr Boran has been my husband Garys dr for over 13 years. Our deepest thanks for keeping Gary alive. He takes the time to listen and is a very compassionate competent dr. I have heard negative people say their wait time is too long. He is a busy dr and you have no idea what may be happening with other patients being treated before you. When I was in office and I heard people talk about the long wait I would tell them a good dr is well worth the wait. It is very hard on patients who have trouble sitting for long periods with bad backs or other health issues but his staff does make you as comfortable as possible.

I really did not think it was possible to have a worse experience with this doctor and his staff. I was very wrong It is laughable that this web page says he is excepting new patients when he is so obliviously overbooked already My mom’s appointments take between 34 hours per visit and because she can no longer drive I’m subjected to his rude disregard for my time. To make things even worse......due to Covid19 I’m reduced to waiting in a parking lot on a bench in 100 degree weather without access to even a restroom. I have been with my mother to other doctors offices which do not exile me from a waiting room. Also because my mom is getting up there in age she does not understand everything that she is told about her tests and results. I don’t have any idea what went on with my mom’s appointment yesterday because I am no longer allowed to be by her side and advocate for her at Boran’s office. I’m working hard to talk my mom into a new cardiologist.

He is a very competent doctor but overbooks all appointments creating extremely long wait times. i have seen elderly patients wait 34 hours for what seems to be a 34 minute consult. The staff is not very friendly probably due to the overbooking. You can rarely talk to a staff member to get any answers if you call in. The doctor seems to have the same recommendationscocktails for a majority of his patients. With some extreme changes i would recommend this doctor.

Not sure what the bad review is about but I had a great experience with the doc and staff. Felt he really listened to my issues.
