Lauren Hiyama's Online Review Report Card

Granted I usually only go once a year, but I've always had positive experiences at this office. For seven years I've seen two of their doctors and both are excellent. Dr. Hiyama is personable and patient and great about explaining things and answering questions. Other staff are pleasant and professional.

My wife went to Dr Hiyama a few weeks ago, this is her review:This office lacks organization or respect for people's time. The first issue was having to wait over 30 minutes after the appointment time before being taken back. The assistant then did not clean the machines/devises like I have seen at other optometry offices. The entire experience was rushed and chaotic. There are no private rooms, all are open to a common area so there is no privacy. All of this could have been overlooked if the treatment from the doctor was reasonable. I have been dealing with some eye issues and Dr Hiyama proposed a solution that seemed odd. Therefore I followed up with a second opinion consult with an ophthalmologist a few days later. As it turns out, Dr Hiyamas treatment plan was incorrect for my condition and she failed to diagnose a neurological defect in my eye. She would have cost me a lot of out of pocket money, two years of wasted time (the amount of time her "treatment" would have taken), and the likely worsening of my condition. There seemed to be very little concern about the patient from the front desk staff, to the assistants, to Dr Hiyama. Subsequent to the appointment, I tried to place a contact order with their office and after multiple calls, over 45 minutes of call time, this office proved they are incapable of placing a simple order. I have been going to Fig Garden Optometry for years but unfortunately due to coverage changes had to switch. I highly recommend Fig Garden Optometry over In Sight Vision Center, what is unfortunately nothing more than an optometry mill.

We visited the Peachwood Medical Group in Clovis, CA, as my lady had a bad rash. Dr Hiyami happened to be at the site for that day and immediately diagnosed Shingles. He was very courteous and professional and prescribed medicine that seems to be working rather well in just a few days. He is a credit to the medical profession.

Visited the Peachwood Medical Group in Clovis for a bad rash on my lady's face. Dr Hiyama introduced himself and diagnosed Shingles in seconds. He took time out to answer any questions and was warm and professional. I highly recommend him and am thankful he happened to be at Peachwood that day!

I've been seeing Dr. Hiyama for several years now and she has always been professional, kind, and patient. She is very down to earth and easy to talk to!

I have been a patient of Dr. Hiyama for MANY years now! She is an amazing Optometrist and she is definitely the doctor that I am going to see for many more years to come. Couldn't have asked for a better doctor for all of my contact lens and glasses needs.

Dr. Hiyama is an excellent provider who took the time to address my issues, and formulate a plan of care with my overall healthcare needs in mind. He was thorough and clear in discussing this with me. I am very satisfied with him as a provider, and highly recommend him.
