List of Paul Norwood's Reviews
Dr Norwood and his assistant are awesome. They truly care about your health and well-being here at his office,..which goes a long way in my book.
Dr. Norwood saved my life and added years. There aren't many doctors that have the experience and knowledge that he has. If you want to be coddled, go somewhere else. If you want to live, go see him and let him help you. He is up to date on the latest medical technology and was able to substantially improve the quality of my life by matching me with the best treatment plan available. I felt compelled to write this review after seeing some of the negative reviews. I can see how some people might be offended by his demeanor but he only offers the truth. If he can get you a few years more on this planet then consider that a bonus. I didn't know him before I went in for my first appointment and I had pretty much given up on life as a diabetic. I am fortunate to have found him after years of struggling with other doctors that only threw medications at me like throwing darts at a board. He may not be everybody's cup of tea but I can tell you he cares and knows more than any endocrinologist I have seen.
To anyone who is reading the negative reviews and might be nervous or hesitant about seeing Dr. Norwood let me help a bit. Most of these bad reviews honestly just ignore them. I was a bit worried as well but it was a wonderful experience! The staff is very nice and friendly. Most people do not want to look into the mirror and see the issues they have that they caused themselves. I am diabetic because of the choices ive made and I came here to make sure I get them corrected. If you are looking for a doctor that's going to sugar coat things and make you feel ok with being overweight and bad choices then maybe this isn't the place for you. He is here to help you fix the problems, when it comes to a serious health concern you need someone who is going to tell you how it is. Dr. Norwood has put me in the right path to keep me healthy and I thank him for that. Did I wanna go and deal with my issues? No of course not but im glad I did. He helped me understand what I need to do to get back into better health.
Great friendly staff, knowledgeable and caring. I truly appreciate how he treats my wife, Dr Norwood wholeheartedly cares for his patients.
I truly appreciate Dr. Norwood, the true concern he has for my wife is refreshing. Outspoken, yes, but so it my wife. He speaks the truth and truly cares about my wife's health and welfare. Norwood is very proactive and is willing to go the distance to help you achieve your health care goals. Thank you again, my mom also speaks highly of you!
I was referred to Dr. Paul C. Norwood in the early 2000's.Look up his current licensure sanction on . He is in the process of potentially having his medical license revoked in the State of CA for felony charges for abusing his medical privilege. His reviews on this site-where he tells people that they are in "eternal denial" have been removed.I had underlying PCOS, hypothyroidism, and Type 2 Diabetes with severe hypoglycemia unawareness, gluten allergy-that led to bulimia and anorexia nervosa. I was told that these were "women's hormone issues" and that my ability to lose weight was that I was not intelligent enough to lose weight. I felt embarrassed, ashamed, and humiliated when in the presence of Dr. Norwood. Instead of treating these conditions-Dr. Norwood told me that I had depression and PTSD. He placed me into a research study that he conducted out of his office for 'keeta-mine," which I found out later was Ketamine, a heavy sedative, and told me that he was the "only person who could get the drug for me." Draw your own conclusions on that one. Dr. Norwood asked me about my sex life at my first appointment with him. I felt that was none of his business and felt very uncomfortable. I did not feel comfortable at all seeing him and stopped after I was having severe issues with the Ketamine therapy and my "mental health issues" (underlying, undiagnosed Type 2 Diabetes) were making it hard for me to work. Years later, I wound up experiencing severe blackouts and seizures, hallucinations. I was misdiagnosed with a mental health condition. After blacking out, in my car, on my way to work, and waking up in a hospital 9 days later-I was told that I had severe hypoglycemia. I fought hard to get the proper diagnosis and care that I needed. If Dr. Norwood had actually diagnosed my hormonal imbalance and treated it with hormone therapy, these parts of my life where I struggled with perceived mental health challenges, that were directly attributed to blood sugar regulation, may not have transpired. All things that Dr. Norwood, with his education and training in endocrinology, should have been able to adequately address. I see more of his patients who are on Medicaid primarily, in the hospital and community with severe complications from Diabetes, PCOS, Hormonal imbalances, and thyroid issues. Not one of his former patients that I encounter has a positive recollection of their experiences with him. All the women I have spoken to felt disgusted by his overt, misogynistic, and unprofessional sexual behavior.Dr. Norwood may pose a danger to the community and should not continue to be allowed to practice medicine. He is not well respected in his specialty locally. His arrogance and ego are evident, and they are the true disease that needs to be cured.
Where do I start, Dr Norwood is just amazing. I came in for unexplained weight gain, I was checked in and with the Dr in about 20 minutes, so efficient. Dr Norwood read through my answers and honestly no less than 5 minutes into the appointment point blank gave me a reason, I was surprised but the best part was he didn’t cut off the appointment after he still took the time to listen to my concerns which was great, he knew one of the medications might need a PA so he called me so I can come by for some samples so I can start asap, after office hours and he waited for me!! What Dr even takes that kind of time these days. 3 days into my new meds I was a different person, he called it right on the money! My quality of life now is more than I thought possible thanks to this man. Yes, he calls me on my excuses when it comes to weight gain, he’s straight forward which not a lot can take but I welcome, his no bs answers also come with solutions which is great, I may not want to hear it but yea.. I need to and I know it’s for the best. Dr Norwood is an outstanding medical provider.
My wife was very lucky to find Dr. Norwood. He was the only endrocologist that acted like one. I have seen the other comments. Many Dr's do scold. We never had that experience. Dr. Norwood developed insulin protocol & procedures for my wife that made sense and worked. He was the ONLY doctor she had seen that has done so.
Horrible doctor and person, if he really wants to talk about his patients personal life, let us talk about his. Clearly an unstable, rude, condescending, and horrible le person in general. He spoke rudely of his patient and proceeded to discuss the daughter, who isn't his patient, which eventually made her so sad she cried. HE promoted starvation and said she wouldn't amount to much. Horrible Horrible doctor and person!!!
This doctor is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered. He talked to me about my weight even though it wasn't my appointment and he commented about my weight even though I have my own doctor who knows I have lost weight and will continue to try to be in a healthy lifestyle. Also I am a teenager and he said that he doesn't eat stuff for like two days or one day, first of all why promote this to a teenager because that's exactly what he did. Another thing apologizing for what, the things you said to a teenager? Or because you look bad making a teenager cry?

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
