Hyder Jamal's Online Review Report Card

I found Dr. Jamal was downplaying my medical during while during an urgent office visit. I was experiencing painful gastrointestinal symptoms of gas, irritation, and bloating. I asked him for appropriate medication. However, he prescribed the wrong treatment. He does most of his assessments remotely and defers treatment to a primary care physician to short-term evaluation.

Dr. Jamal is very knowledgeable in his field and was wonderful at putting me at ease for my upcoming colonoscopy. The procedure was very smooth with absolutely no pain or discomfort, The doctor is very personable and has a nice sense of humor. In addition his office staff were supportive and very kind scheduling my procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Jamal.

Dr. Jamal is very nice and professional at what he does. When I had my colonoscopy done I was nervous and he made me feel very comfortable by comforting me and reassuring me that everything will be alright and he explained everything to me before and after the procedure. I'm glad to have a good knowledgeable doctor. He treats me with respect and has good bedside manners. He's patient and caring listens to my health issues and help addresses them and help set up a plan and follows through.

Dr. Hyder Jamal MD, has been our preferred Gastro-enterologist, for almost 20 years, at Saint Jude Medical, in Fullerton, CA. He had performed several pre-scheduled screening procedures, including colonoscopies and esophagoscopies, in order to assure the gastric health of my wife and I. He is remarkably caring and very professional. We highly recommend him. Thanks to his specialized medical care, we are now, after twenty years, seniors in great health..!!! George and Sandra.

WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T GO TO THIS DOCTOR! He will not listen or try to help. I have a close relative that was seeing this doctor and she felt there was a miscommunication issue with him as he seemed to be throwing medication at her completely unrelated to the symptoms she was describing, so she asked if I would come to the appointment with her to help. Honestly I was appalled at Dr. Jamal's attitude in general and especially toward the patient. While describing her symptoms he interrupted her multiple times, talked over her not allowing her to explain her symptoms or what was going on, and overall just didn't want to help. During the appointment he even told her she was "being schizophrenic" (which she is clearly not, so he was just name calling in a derogatory way in order to dismiss her very real physical symptoms as being something simply mental) because he thinks the symptoms she's describing aren't real. I have watched this relative suffer and know her symptoms are very real. I have seen several gastroenterologists and have never ever witnessed one with such disregard for patient care. Needless to say, I have recommended my relative be transferred to my gastroenterologist who is much much better. Don't waste your time with Dr. Jamal! He is truly a BAD doctor.

This Doctor is completely uncaring and unsympathetic to his patients. He talks at you not to you. He was 1/2 hour late for my last appointment. He just waltzed in the door plopped down in his chair and started in talking. I guess his majesty is too important to offer any kind of apology for being late. I still don't know what was wrong with me and what the ultimate treatment goal is. My two appointments with his have consisted of him telling me a test result without any kind of explanation. Just what the test result was. So now he wants me to have an MRI of my gallbladder area. No explanation of why it is needed , just do it! This test puts all or part of your body is narrow dark chamber. It is very claustrophobic. So I called his office and asked for anti-claustrophobic medicine. That was a week ago! So for, no answer from the good doctors office. You would think that my trying to be accommodating to his requests would get a better response from him! You would be wrong!

Dr. Jamal has been our dr. for many years. He is a very kind, considerate and knowledgeable doctor. He is very patient and empathetic especially with my mentally disabled daughter who has been under his care for years. She never has any fears about going to go see him and she thinks the world of him. We all do!
