Great bedside manner and Very detailed when explaining things in terms you can understand. His NP, Joanna Juntila, always goes above and beyond for their patients. She treats her patients like family which is so comforting when dealing with serious health issues. Together they are an AMAZING team. They seem like family to me. Not many healthcare providers can make their patients feel this way. I love them both. Also, the Nurse Navigator, Lori Berberet, Has gone above and beyond to make sure we were doing the right things. And when we weren’t doing the right things, she was always there to help us and guide us. We can truly say they are our Hoag family!!!

Dr. Carillo and his team are amazing! They go above and beyond in every aspect of my care and treatment for brain cancer. Dr. Carillo and his entire staff: Joanna, Lori, Danielle, and more treat me like I'm their only patient even though I know they are crazy busy. He is very kind and easy to talk to. I can't imagine having anybody else take care of me, especially during such a terrifying time in my life. Knowing that Dr. Carillo is the best of the best and feeling that during every appointment with him has allowed me to be positive and calm through this scary journey.

Very informative physician. Explained in detail what the chemotherapy for my mother's brain tumor was accomplishing. Also, explained what risks to her were in detail. Especially what the chemo could do to her underlying infections and risks if she need surgery while the chemo was still in her system. He is very professional and speaks to us in terms that we understand. He also brings an enormous smile to my mother when he is in his presence, especially during this difficult time.

I met Dr Carrillo at UCLA, doing a Fellowship under Dr Clougsey. He explains and has patience with all patients, you can ask many questions, he will answer or get the correct information.

If there is a textbook definition of what a "model doctor" should be like, it is Dr. Carillo. He is as caring and personable as he is a world class expert in his field. He is SO patient in explaining and going over reports and his recommendations with you. He seems always eager to see you doing well and is always on top of prescriptions and lab orders. My mother (his patient) was sad when he transferred. His new hospital and patients are blessed to have him!

Excellent Dr. I was diagnosed with a brain mass in 1999. I had a seizure 2011 and met Dr. Carrillo for the first time. Has been by far the best Neurologist that has treated me for my condition.
