List of Park Vista Health Center's Reviews
I had a really frustrating experience with Park Vista Health Center, mainly with rehab. What I didn’t realize at first is that the therapy isn’t actually run by the facility. It’s handled by a company called Select Rehabilitation that comes in separately, and that disconnect really shows. As a family member, that was confusing because you assume everything is coordinated by the place your loved one is staying at. My mom was taken off therapy because she was told she “wasn’t making progress,” but I saw other patients in much worse condition still getting therapy for long periods of time with no real change. One patient a few rooms down had been there over a year with no movement or communication and was still on services. That didn’t make sense and raised real questions about how those decisions are being made. The therapy itself felt very basic. Mostly passive range of motion, not much active work, and not much visible effort toward real improvement. The biggest issue was communication. I asked multiple times for clear explanations during care plan family meetings and when I spoke to staff, but I kept getting redirected or given vague answers that never explained why decisions were being made or why therapy was stopped. After looking into Select Rehabilitation, I also saw mentions from other families of concerns and even some legal disputes in situations involving how therapy is handled in facilities they work with. It made our experience feel more familiar, especially given the lack of clear communication we ran into. It also makes me question why a company like Select Rehabilitation would be the contracted therapy provider here when there are other rehab companies with strong reputations. It raises questions about why this setup was chosen if it creates this kind of disconnect in communication and accountability between families, therapists, and the facility. Overall, Park Vista looks like a nice facility when you first walk in, but the rehab experience didn’t match that impression. When recovery is the main reason someone is there, that matters a lot. If you have a family member here, stay very involved, ask a lot of questions, and don’t assume everything is being clearly explained
Staff is friendly and responsive. My family member required suction to manage her secretions after eating some ice chips, and the CNA had to leave to get the LVN to do it. I asked if they had the smaller soft suction catheters and she said no because the LVNs can only use Yankauer, which is too large to adequately reach her secretions. That is unfortunate
I believe that an upfront insurance verification should be done prior to touring this location. My 91 year old father in law who is a vet with Medicare needed skilled nursing and PT after a week long hospital stay was denied admission due to his insurance. Just to be crystal clear the facility seems beautiful but apparently our insurance is not accepted. The insurance is ...healthnet wellcare simple focus hmo (optum network). No VA benefit either. We spoke with Admissions 2x and were told they don't accept our insurance. Just wanted to get this information out so people are aware.
Park Vista is one of the nicest skilled nursing communities I have visited. The staff is very kind and caring. Compared to other communities I have visited, this community has fewer residents assigned to each caregiver and so the residents receive prompt response when needed. Park Vista offers many activities to keep their residents engaged and maintain their cognitive function. A friend of mine is in this community and I have seen the Activities Professionals intentionally engage my friend with unique activities that meet her needs, even when she is bed bound. I have regularly seen them go the extra mile to make sure their residents feel valued and appreciated This skilled nursing community is always clean, sanitary and well staffed with caregivers and yet it doesn't feel like a hospital, it feels like a home.
Park Vista Skilled Nursing is one of the best skilled nursing in OC. Their staff all around is incredible, so compassionate, and caring for their patients. From the nursing staff, to the physical therapists, to social services, and even the Maintenence and food. Highly recommend Park vista for a family member in need.
Lovely staff and very helpful as well. They treated my loved one with the most respect she deserved. I turned to Park Vista when I could not balance working a full time job and caring for my loved one. They truly made her feel right at home and supported. Will definitely recommend to others looking for care.
I don’t normally write reviews but I felt compelled to write one today. I was looking for an assisted living home for my grandmother and Park Vista was the perfect option. I got all my questions answered kindly and promptly — something that you always want to receive while going through this troubling time of putting a loved one into a space that they’d feel comfortable with. My grandma doesn’t require a lot of hands-on care but just having her in a space of care was obviously my number one priority. Thank you to the staff at Park Vista!
My cousin is not being well cared for. Seems as though the staff is unavailable when called for help. We are having to go to the nurses station repeatedly. The residents are paying a very good amount of money is be well cared for until the end. If you do not have someone to watch over you they will take advantage.
My husband came to here after he had a stroke. He could not walk well and had heart and kidney problems. This was a very hard time for our family. The front office staff and kitchen staff were kind and helpful. They treated us well. My husband did improve overall, and I am thankful for their care. We were sad about our experience with the walking therapist at the fitness gym. After a stroke, it is common for patients to feel tired and unmotivated. My husband struggled with motivation. Instead of kindness and patience, we felt she did not try to understand him or show empathy. Being caring and supportive is very important when helping stroke patients, and it makes a real difference in recovery. This facility helps both assisted living patients and patients who are not in assisted living. We were told by staff that assisted living patients may get more priority. We also observed that assisted living patients seemed to receive more careful and specialized therapy, many of whom were less cooperative than my husband. This felt unfair. We were paying customers and hoped for the same care and attention. After more time passed and my husband continued recovery through other therapies, he shared that his stroke affected his willingness to try. He said he received very little praise or encouragement from this therapist, while he saw her encourage other patients. This was hurtful for us. After discharge, he was able to walk again, but it required support from other therapists at a different facility who took the time to work with him, even when he was difficult or unmotivated. If someone struggles with motivation, which is very common after a stroke, it is essential for a rehab therapist to have patience and empathy. And… If a therapist cannot work with patients who struggle with motivation, it raises the question of why they would work in rehab, especially in a leadership role. We truly thank the other workers who helped us. But I hope Park Vista provides additional training on compassion and emotional support, because this is extremely important for patients and their families, whether or not they are assisted living residents
The quality of care the communication and the environment were second to none. And I couldn't have thought of a better place for my father. The daily care and the extra effort that went into caring for him.During his challenging health problems was second to none. The regular calls from the doctor made all the difference. And it was extremely unusual in the most delightful of surprises to hear from him almost daily. There isn't another care facility like this.In all of orange county, this truly is number one.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
