List of Robert Mccoy's Reviews
One of the worst doctors - consulted him on a tumor and he didn't even bother to check/examine it before concluding that it's nothing to worry about. I definitely felt rushed and Dr. McCoy presented himself with zero bedside manner and compassion that a physician should have. He only sees you as a transaction, not a patient.
No one really wants to have a surgery, but a hernia repair surgery was in order for me. I did my research and chose a highly recommended surgeon, Dr Robert McCoy. I can say with 100% conviction that Dr McCoy was the right choice. He is beyond skilled ( having performed MANY of these surgeries), knowledgeable, and informative. He not only takes his time to answer questions/concerns, but also has a WONDERFUL bedside manner. As a side note, his entire staff is kind and efficient plus the nurses that assist him give him rave reviews ( a fact that speaks volumes as to his expertise). In conclusion, my surgery went great, I am on my way to complete recovery and I will add my name to his list of many grateful and appreciative clients.
I recommend you to check his "visit note" right after your office visit through MyChart system, or request it to the office. If you notice anything you don't agree with, contact to Providence customer service (800)627-8106/(888)432-5464.
I was very dissatisfied and disappointed regarding my care at the hospital by this doctor . I was admitted because of gallbladder stones. This surgeon took 2 days to see me. I was in a lot of pain, but this surgeon told me that my gallbladder was still functioning and he did not feel the need to perform surgery. He did not want to operate on me. Another doctor at the hospital told me that over 2 days had gone by; therefore, she felt that it would be dangerous to operate because it should have been done within the first 2 days of my admission to the hospital, and at that point I could run the risk of over bleeding. During my stay I was treated with very strong pain medication. My stay at the hospital was of 4 days. After several months, I still have the gallbladder stones, and still have problems.
Dr Robert McCoy was straightforward with my wife’s diagnosis. He was friendly, attentive and supportive on how she was feeling about her leg lipomas. The surgery went well and the incision site is healing well. My wife is grateful for having him as her doctor.

Sorry for late review but just filled out paperwork to get a sore knee diagnosed in another state. The question came up on prior surgery and who the doctor was. Well, only had one surgery and that was a slight hernia repair by Dr. McCoy in April/2017. This guy and his whole staff were so professional !! I called McCoy 'Bones' from Star Trek series jargon and he knew (prob gets that a lot) exactly what that was, and we had fun with that. Dr. McCoy answered all questions and was very reassuring about full recovery. It is now Oct 2021 and never a problem again with the hernia. If I was still in CA. I would still be seeing this Dr. and Group, knowing if something came up that they couldn't handle, I would be given a first rate referral to someone that could. Thanks again Dr. McCoy and staff for everything you people do. GOD Bless !! Stephen Sullivan
My experience with Dr. McCoy and his staff was excellent. His communication with me was clear and direct. I appreciated his honesty. He took as much time as needed during all of my appointments. Would highly recommend. Also, my experiences with the Plaza Surgery Center, the breast center, the MRI and nuclear med departments and St. Jude Hospital Surgery were excellent. The nurses and staff carried out their jobs with caring and excellence.
Dr. McCoy performed a hernia repair surgery on me. After healing, I was still in great pain and my CT scan was still showing a hernia in the same location. I had to beg for him to go in a second time. After this surgery (if anything was done), I was and am in terrible pain. I recently had a hiatal hernia surgery performed by another surgeon and he assessed what was wrong. The surgery performed by Dr. McCoy showed that he did not sew my hernia together but, only put the mesh on top of an open hernia. Two years of agonizing pain and I will soon be able to repair it by a good surgeon. Dr. McCoy's bedside manner throughout my ordeal was terrible and his attitude towards me was that of dismissing my pain and would not acknowledge that it could be from his surgery.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
