List of Sunnycrest Senior Living's Reviews
Friendly staff. Excellent care For my mom.
My mother in law was at Sunnycrest for a year. We were very happy with her time there. She loved the staff, they took excellent care of her. Her doctors were very happy with her care there. Her doctors said Sunnycrest did a great job overseeing her medically and they could see it in her labs, tests and overall improved health she experienced while living at Sunnycrest. The staff was kind and caring. My mother in law felt safe and cared for at Sunnycrest.
They make mistakes every the medication order is changed. It usually takes at least a dozen complaints in order to get the problem corrected.
This review is for the tour, onboarding, etc process. Diana has been amazing and is an advocate for her residents. My grandma moves in tomorrow and Diana has made the process as seamless as possible. I have high hopes that my grandma will love the place and our experience will continue to be great. If the experience so far is any indication, I think my wishes will be granted. Thanks for being in our corner, Diana.
My father had a great experience here for more than 6 years. He made many friends, including staff and nursing team whom he adored. The rooms are large and well maintained. The kitchen is generally pretty good and invites families to participate in meals and enjoy the food. The med-tech team is second to none and I credit them with many life saving actions on behalf of my father. We consider them all part of our family. I highly recommend Sunny Crest in Fullerton.
This facility may look nice from the outside but the experience inside was very disturbing. I came to visit a friend that lives here. When I enter the building I immediately noticed loud radio among staff members discussing that they could not locate someone I believe it was someone living here. The environment felt disorganized and worrying. I was standing near the corner at the front waiting while a kind gentleman assisted another family member at the front desk. One of the office doors was not closed and through the gap I could clearly see a staff member smoking inside the office. I was completely shocked by this. When the gentleman began helping me, the woman came out of the office I asked who she was and he told me her name was Brenda and that she is a nurse. She had long black hair and was wearing a red blouse that day. Overall the situation raised serious concerns regarding professionalism and proper conduct within the facility.
I visited this facility over the weekend while dropping my children off at Teragi Academy. I decided to walk in because I am currently searching for a place for my mother, who is recovering from hip surgery and is in rehab at Pavilion at Sunnyhills. Unfortunately, this visit completely changed my mind. From the start, I was not welcomed by the front desk. It took over 10 mins just to get basic questions answered because they needed to reach someone named Diana or Diane. I was told she stepped out and would be back in five minutes. She never returned. While waiting, I used the restroom, which was absolutely disgusting. There was no toilet paper, no soap, and disgusting fecal stains on the toilet. I gagged and had to walk out. I mentioned the restroom issue to a lady who was about to walk into the restroom, who was kind enough to speak with me. She told me this is a common problem and that residents sometimes bring their own supplies. This lady was far more helpful and informative than the front desk staff which says a lot! After about 20 minutes, I asked again about speaking with Diane and was then told she had already left for the day after previously being told she would be back shortly. I told the front desk who is in charge and gave me one of the managers business card. I followed up on Monday by calling to speak with a manager. I was told Melanie was busy and would call me back. No call ever came. When I called again two hours later, I was told she had already left for the day. Reaching management or getting a callback seems nearly impossible. Just my short visit to the place was horrifying!
After understanding the needs of our father in an assisted living facility and having been a bit disappointed in the place we were at, we began looking at facilities. Sunny Crest Senior Living Facility ended being our choice. We found a room that not only had the amenities we were looking for but balconies in both rooms where even chairs and a small table can be set for enjoying a bit of fresh air without having to go out of the building. The staff, from the office personnel were fabulous and very welcoming. Diana was extremely helpful in making our move in as pain free as possible and constantly checked in with us to assist us with whatever we needed. The dining is very nice and has a menu that is well thought out and it changes frequently. The servers are patient and take their time with the residents needs without sacrificing speed and efficiency. Housekeeping are fabulous, professional and very good at what they do while making sure the resident is respected. Maintenance are on top of any issue and have solved every issue we've encountered. The med techs and caregivers are kind, attentive and warm in their approach with the residents as well as being the best in their profession. Overall it is a family setting, no one is overlooked and very friendly. Our father is very happy here and feels secure as he knows that there will always be someone checking in on him. It's been a wonderful choice.
This facility is extremely dirty and poorly maintained. The level of care is unacceptable. Supervisor Brenda and med tech Michelle treat residents with a shocking lack of compassion and respect. I witnessed residents being treated unfairly and neglected. It was heartbreaking to see how little regard they have for the wellbeing of the people they're supposed to be caring for. Please, do not place your family members here. You will regret it. They deserve better.
Quality Assisted Living at a reasonable rate.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
