An office like no other I've ever been to. 12 people waiting and office staff rude...office never calls back or schedules appointments. I had to personally mail in my referral and ask for an appointment that way since office was never available or ever called me back.
I waited almost 2 months for my appointment with Dr. Shin, I arrived 30 minutes earlier than my scheduled appointment but still ended up seeing my an hour late. Once I finally spoke to Dr. Shin, he spoke to me for 2 minutes and dismissed my symptoms. I highly recommend anyone who has similar experiences with this doctor to please report him to the California Department of Consumer Affairs
He is by the far the worst doctor I’ve had the displeasure of visiting. I had to schedule my appointment 2 months in advance, and arrived 30 minutes early on the day of, i still had to wait close to 1 hour to be seen. Once he walked into the room he had his back to me for the entire time, and only looked at me when feeling my stomach for god knows what he didn’t explain anything. He didn’t bother explaining my lab results to me, and I highly doubt he looked at my file. His advice to me was “take some fiber and eat more vegetables” and walked out the room after seeing me for less than 2 minutes. I had to ask the nurse for him to return to the room to ask what I should do if my symptoms worsened, he shrugged and said “do what you want” This doctor is clearly ready to retire and has no care in the world.
My god, this is the worst doctor I've ever encountered in my life. Run! Run! Run! Everything the other reviewers have mentioned is 100% accurate: Packed waiting room, rude staff, rude doctor, didn't look at me, interrupted me, dismissed my symptoms, and pushed me out the door in under 2 minutes. This guy is 100% about the money. If you have had a similar experience with this doctor please report him to Department of Consumer Affairs.
Don’t think this place needs another 1 star review since all I see here is 1 star reviews. And it is really a 1 star service. This clinic is only after your money and do not care about the patient one bit.
The WORST I've ever been treated by a doctor!!!!! EVER!!!! I went in for a follow up after a colonoscopy and after waiting for about an hour with 16 other people in the waiting room and more waiting outside, I finally get called back. He said "He said the colonoscopy came out normal but your intestine was partially twisted and that it's more common in older people."I asked "is that what's causing the problem?"He said "no, it just made it difficult to put the camera up your colon and that everything is normal just eat a high fiber diet" ( He already told me already that plus, if fiber was the problem I wouldn't have gotten a colonoscopy)I asked "why didn't you put that my colon was twisted on my result papers? You said everything was normal" And pulled out my results to show him. He said they wouldnt put that on my results and that it would only be in his notes."I said "I've already increased my fiber intake and I'm still having the problem; it's becoming worse. I've had diarrhea 3 times today."He got up, shrugged and said "learn to live with it."I said "And the stabbing pain every time I eat, and through out the day, and before and after every poop?!?!"He sat down and said "where's your pain?" I said my lower right and now it's going to the lower left and the upper right." (He should have known this already because it was in his notes ) He ordered the same tests I've already done.I showed him my previous bloodwork and he couldn't even read that correctly. He told my my RBC count was high and that I have a risk for diabetes and to cut carbs. I called my doctor and asked why they didn't tell me. They said my RBC is high because I didn't fast, which it clearly said on the bloodwork results if doctor shin could actually read instead of trying to pump out patients like it's a business. Dr. Shin can't even read basic blood work let alone deal with chronic problems. Go to another GI specialist and save yourself the trouble
Most of the people giving bad reviews are right. I am not even trying to be a Karen in this type of situation but do not even bother going to this doctor. He definitely is dismissive and does not seem to care about patients, why become a doctor if you can't even cater to your patients needs? It does not make any sense. After getting my stomach checked, he said nothing was concerning but it always seems like he is in a rush. All he told me was "be careful with your diet" and take "anti-acids". Which is common sense, I was even talking about other issues as well but that was dismissed too. It's safe to say I will not be returning. Find another doctor, you will thank me later.
This "doctor" is extremely unprofessional and rude. He seems to have a bias towards a certain group of patients because appointments with others were taking 30+ minutes each yet he only gave me three minutes of his time and extremely unhelpful remarks. He didn't ask me any questions about my health or concerns, he didn't even glance at my lab results once. Before I knew it he had cut my appointment short and left the room. Please rethink booking an appointment with Dr.Shin I would highly advise against it.
I made an appointment about 4 weeks in advance because that was the earliest date they had for the Pomona office. Apparently Dr. Shin is only there on Mondays'. This is fine, however on the morning of my Monday appointment, I received a text saying my appointment was cancelled. I called the office twice and on the third attempt, I was finally able to speak with someone. Apparently Dr. Shin's office didn't receive the new patient packet that I faxed over the Friday before. Even though they received my email of the same packet Monday morning, they had to cancel my appointment. The rule, which was never communicated to me, is that they had to get the new patient packet the Friday before the Monday appointment. I would be ok with this rule IF they actually notified me of it prior to my appointment. And conveniently the office manager is out and no one there is in charge who could help me.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
