List of Anne Hughes's Reviews
Everything was going well until I refused a flu vaccine and DPT. Her demeanor was no longer friendly. I feel I am informed well enough to make decisions about my own body. I expected those decisions to be respected. Apparently they weren't. Moving on. I still believe she is a competent and caring doctor who wants to do the best she can for her patients. You just need to do things her way.
Anne Hughes' practice is very irresponsible. As a new patient, I got an appointment on phone for my wife. They didn't have any opening for 3 weeks, but as this was the nearest OB-GYN that was accepting new patients we accepted to wait. Today when we went in for the checkup, the receptionist told us that we didn't have any appointment. Infact she had forgotten to put us into the system entirely. She said there was no open slot today, so we'll have to wait another two weeks for a new appointment. We said we'd much rather go to a much farther away doctor than this one.
A wonderful family doctor - I have been her patient for more than 10 years.
I have been a patient since 2005 and I must say that I blame myself for being a fool and staying with her practice so long. I am finally going to switch primary, hurray! Back to my review, she is a below average doctor. Not phenomenal and she is cold and always rushing you out. She does not have expertise with any one area. Everything seems to need me to go to a specialist her office screams hard times. She used to have a nicer shared office but I guess she got downsized to a small ratty one, too many leaving patients? The by far biggest problem with her practice is the staff. Two large and lazy women. They are both equally lazy and slow to work but the main receptionist is the worst. She overcharges every time. She sits there and ignores waiting patients while talking to her family in botched Spanish on the phone. She is seriously ghetto. It doesnt stop there though. This lazy receptionist never files paperwork on time. Need a prescription? Forget about it. Dont waste your time people. This practice has gone down the drain.
I first met Dr Hughes more than 20 years ago. We selected her to manage my wife's pregnancy. She was thorough and explained everything in terms we could understand. She personally delivered our healthy daughter. I've been seeing her ever since and I would never change. She follows up well and keeps excellent records. There have been a couple of times where I've waited for her arrival for a pre-scheduled appointment but it was always in the morning so I'm sure she got caught up in her morning rounds at the hospital. The staff always kept me abreast of her timing. She's very concerned when appropriate and encouraging when things are looking up. I strongly recommend her as a family doctor.
Dr. Hughes was my sons doctor until we switched to a different physician 4 months ago. I am Yelping due to the unprofessional nature of the office and the inability to properly handle billing. My son was being treated by Dr. Hughes until there was an issue with them improperly billing my insurance resulting in an large bill being sent to me. There was then an issue between me and my insurance (my fault) and that resulted in more large bills. The problem I have with Dr. Hughes office is that i was told it was being taken care of until 8 months later I receive a Facebook message from Dr. Hughes boyfriend saying that there was a large amount past due and "I'd like to get past all that nonsense and get this cleared up before it becomes a really big issue (And does stuff like hosing up your credit)." I explained that I was under the assumption that this had already had been resolved but to send me a bill (i gave my current address) and i would look into it. As a reply I was told a brief explanation of why there was this bill and that my wife had been contacted and "BTW, ****** from the billing service has been trying to contact (Wife), but (Wife) is blowing ****** off." I asked why my mother-in-law (friend of Dr. Hughes) or my self had not been contacted if that was the case. Also that I would not like to be contacted over Facebook and I gave my phone number and requested that the billing department call me and that a bill be sent to my address.1.5 weeks later I received a call from the billing department and was told in detail the situation and what my options were. I gave my address again and requested a bill again so I could contact my insurance and attempt to get the issues resolved. Almost a month after that the bill was sent to the wrong address. The bill states that it is going to collections tomorrow (15 days after it was mailed to the wrong address). If you are looking for a family care doctor I do not recommend Dr. Hughes if you care about; your credit, being billed properly, or a professional office. Dr. Toby Hays (highly recommended) of Pediatrics Associates is a great doctor and me and my son are very happy there. -Private First Class Maximilian Knudsen
Anne Hughes and her practice are HORRIBLE! My daughter saw her in Feb 2010 because our usual doc was out - awful mistake! She screwed up the billing and tried to force us to pay when the insurance wouldn't. I figured it out and told her how to submit her claim, and she is still billing us for a phantom $20 she says we owe even though I've faxed her evidence of payment 2X. Doesn't deserve even 1 star!
1 star rating not only for Dr Hughes but her very rude and unprofessional receptionist and biller. Bad customer service, very loud rap ghetto music makes it hard to hear any words coming from any of Dr, Hughes staff. I tried nicely to tell the doctor about the unprofessional setting among her staff, but instead told me that her office is near her receptionist's desk and she could not hear the music at all. Perhaps Dr. Hughes wears earplugs or needs to visit one of her colleagues for a hearing test? She can get one free through AARP? Instead of calling me about my complaint, she tells me in an email to find another doctor, or learn to tolerate her staff and their loud music. Nope not happening... I withdrew my coverage after having her as my doctor for only 5 months, if this is any way how she treats her patients while they are in the hospital, then I'm relieved that I'll never be in her "care" again. Take my advice and stay as far away from this clinic as you can.
I've been going to Dr Hughes for almost 5 years and first I would like to say I LOVE HER and her STAFF , the woman in the front is always willing to help , it seams like she is always busy so sometimes she seams a little rushed on the phone BUT always willing to help . As for the nurse she is also very helpful and nice.I have 2 kids that are also Dr Hughes patients and so that mean that I am one of those mom's that always call in last minute to get one of my kids in for one reason or another.. Always very polite :) Dr Hughes is very caring and PATIENT when she is in with me or when seeing my kids...
My husband and I are new patients as a refferal from one of my co-workers. I really like Dr Hughes and think she is very helpful and informative. My husband really likes her too and has seen quite a few different doctors over the last few years trying to find a good fit.On a bad note I can agree with a few of these reviews. The office staff has been pretty rude on the phone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
