Eli Chen's Online Review Report Card

I was referred to Dr Chen from a friend. He was thorough in explaining my partial meniscus tear, surgery and after care. Robin runs his Morgan Hill office and is superb at keeping everything on time. My outpatient surgery at Bascom Surgery Center went very well and my aftercare and Physical therapy was just as expected. I highly recommended him as an orthopedic surgeon you can put your confidence in.

I had a complete bicep tendon tear first it was very painful recovery takes a long time. Went to go see dr. Chen he did the surgery was there when I had questions post-surgery and even better his office staff in Morgan Hill on top of things and very efficient they made my disability processing paperwork a breeze and got all the additional stuff I needed for my work complete in a very fast manne. my bicep tendon is now healed for my surgery and dr. Chen recommendations for the healing process was right on point. I chose dr. Chernoff a recommendation and happy I did so

We saw Dr. Chen this morning for my 5-year-old daughter's cast for her broken wrist.  I was a little nervous due to some of the reviews I had seen on here, but I had a great referral from a friend as well as the urgent care downstairs who initially referred us to Dr. Chen.  I was so pleasantly surprised by what I encountered!  The receptionist was so sweet and helpful; I called at 9 am (as soon as they opened) and she asked to have me come in right away so we could make sure to be seen today.  We waited there no longer than 10 minutes before Dr. Chen asked us to come in.  He was very gentle at explaining a fracture to my daughter, and had such great bedside manner!  He wrapped her up in a pretty pink cast very efficiently and professionally.  He took time to review the x-rays with us in his office, and in no way did I feel that we were taking too much of his time or being rushed out.  This was the best visit I have had with a doctor of any kind in a long time so I wanted to be sure to share. Thank you, Dr. Chen!

Don't bother seeing Dr. Chen unless you have something really obvious that any family doctor can help you with. I have friends that saw him in the last year and have had bad experiences and say that he has changed a lot in the last couple of years. Notice that he has only had one positive review in the last two years!  I have also heard that other doctors and staff in the building no longer recommend him since he seems to have gotten burned out on the job and just doesn't seem to care about patients anymore. If you are considering seeing Dr. Chen, you may want to look at any of the other options in the area.

So glad to have found Dr. Chen! My primary care physician recommended Dr. Chen and I decided to give him a try. My daughter had seen two other orthopedic doctors in Morgan Hill for a knee injury and I wasn't too excited about either one of them for different reasons.  I went to see Dr. Chen for intense shoulder pain. Diagnosed with a frozen shoulder he prescribed physical therapy and home stretching exercises. Dr. Chen takes his time listening and explaining the cause of frozen shoulder, mechanics, healing time etc. I never felt rushed and he seemed to genuinely care about my shoulder issues  and allowing it to heal properly. I have gone to see him several times for checkups and each and every time he takes his time to listen and explain. I have taken my daughter to see him for a 3rd opinion and would not hesitate to have him do knee surgery in the future should she need it. I would highly recommend Dr. Chen.

My mom is a nurse and always knows which doctors have the best reputation. Dr. Chen was absolutely fantastic in helping me get back on my feet post an ACL injury. He uses very simple language to make it clear about what you have to do as a patient and also what he does as a doctor. Most people don't even notice that I had an ACL surgery cause my scars are so small. Best doctor hands down.

Last year had accident and was taken to St. Louise...met Dr Chen in ER and loved his bedside manner.  He and his staff were very caring and followed me through the recovery.  Doing great now thanks to the excellent care and knowledge.  Hope I never need it again but if I do would definitely return.  Thanks so much, Dr. Chen!

I had a bad bicycle accident and broke my collarbone in 3 places.  The ER recommended Dr. Chen and I was able to get in touch with his office AND get a call back from him personally that same afternoon.  I was floored, I had never received attention like that from any doctor, especially one I had never met.  Nice guy, knowledgeable, straight-forward, and confidence-inspiring.  I had surgery quickly and, as far as I can tell, he did a great job.

My son was referred by his primary care physician, after a skateboard injury to his hand. Both the Staff and  Dr. Chen were very nice and professional.After reviewing the films, Dr. Chen sent us up to Stanford for surgery.  One bone graft and two pins later, my son is on the road to recovery. Great Doctor!
