List of Usc Verdugo Hills Hospital's Reviews
Even if this is late... I am commending the professionalism and good service of the staff of Verdugo Hills Hospital: from my entry to discharge. I had my colonoscopy procedure here in September 23, 2022. I'd like to thank: pre-admission (Helen Licu and Rita Miranda) and the team of Dr David Mell.
Trash trash trash, it's an ER right? They don't act like an ER, they act more like a clinic, even clinics see their patients quicker. 2+ hour wait and all we are told is sorry we see patients based on the severity of their pain, so i have to be crying and screaming in order to be seen, this place is ridiculous, they are definitely going downhill!
I was waiting in the ER for over 2 hours feeling intense dizziness, nausea, vomiting. They first saw 5 people who came in after I did. Their system is very flawed and is not fair to those who are suffering and waiting. They don’t care about you’re health. Also the nurse who took my vitals/history was very cold.
I had an amazing experience delivering my baby here. The L&D staff were incredible and took excellent care of both of us. Our first nurse Kim was so supportive and calming and our nurse at delivery, Alexis, was amazing and did such an incredible job of coaching me through the whole process. Our doctors, Dr. Liburd and Dr. Liyanto were excellent as well. I knew I was in great hands the entire time. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else if I were to have a second baby.
They forgot to order a life saving treatment. They were understaffed and under-resourced. They didn't realize that my mom had a stroke for more than 12 hours under their care. And I ended up losing my Mom. My Mom developed a rare autoimmune disease called TTP soon after her 2nd Moderna vaccine. It's a life threatening condition that results in blood clots that need immediate treatment. It took the hospital a day to diagnose the issue. They said that they would order the treatment of plasmapheresis. The next day, my Dad asked the nurse when the treatment would start and they kept on saying it'd come soon. At night, a nurse finally said that they forgot to submit the order and that the treatment was delayed to the next day. My Mom, knowing the severity of this disease, was crying and her voice was shaking in fear as she called me to ask if I knew of anyone who could provide plasma. But it was fruitless. The next day, they started the treatment. Her condition continued to get worse and she had TIAs (mini strokes). I asked Dr. Ji if we could move her to a larger hospital with more resources. He insisted that they had everything needed to treat her. That same day I remember a nurse telling me that the MRI technician wanted to go home early and was reluctant to perform an MRI on my Mom. One night, a nurse saw my Mom throw up and become unresponsive. Dr. Lee, the neurologist, suggested nothing when the nurse called about it. In the morning, we spent hours trying to get the nurses to get us in contact with the doctors after seeing my Mom unable to speak and seemingly deranged. Finally, Dr. Ji responded on a phone call to me saying that she had a stroke and that she would be transferred to the ER. This was more than 12 hours after the nurse saw her vomit and became unresponsive, very clear indicators of a stroke. I then continued to ask the ER doctor, Dr. Philip, about transferring her to a new hospital. He continued to insist that they had everything to take care of her despite her condition getting worse with their care. I kept on trying to talk to the hematologist, Dr. Ucar, but only ever got one phone call from him who insisted the same. I was at the hospital whenever it was open and I never saw Dr. Ucar even once. Eventually, they finally transferred her to the main Keck hospital. There, the doctors gave her Caplivi, a known drug that drastically increases the chances of survival for TTP. It was working. But it was too late. Just a day or two after they moved her to the main Keck hospital, she had already suffered massive strokes. As her TTP cleared, the damage from the strokes continued to get worse and she passed away. It haunts me every night knowing how many things went wrong here. It haunts me every day knowing how had my Mom gotten Cablivi just a couple days earlier, I'd be able to celebrate the holidays with her. And it haunts me that I didn't manage to get her to a better hospital sooner.
I brought the woman that I provide caregiving for here for a doctor's appointment. It's a nice hospital. There is plenty of parking. The doctor we saw was very nice... Not sure that the disposition of this one doctor should affect the review for the entire facility but as far as I could tell, and every person I came into contact with while I was there were polite, helpful and pleasant.
Triaged you so you get billed and they get paid for doing nothing. Got billed $500 when I didn’t even see the doctor. I never got my test results from the urine test or anything but got billed for it. Scammers!!
I never had a bad experience with Verdugo Hills hospital until today. I had a terrible pain from my tonsils, and been waiting 6 hours with only updates but no response to my issues. I thank the nurses and doctors who were nice to me but the organization of this hospital is horrific. If you want faster results, not saying it will be any different. I wouldn’t come here as my first choice to get looked at. Again no hard feelings towards the nurses and doctors. They were great but to wait for one sore throat situation shouldn’t take that long.
THE WORST. Front desk has so much attitude. They should NOT be working in health care. No compassion. They make you wait for 8+ hours without giving you any idea what the wait is. This place is GARBAGE.
Obviously, this hospital is one of the worst for walking ER! Super cold with unresponsive health workers! As everybody says never walk to this hospital!!!! Never Ever!!!!too long waiting! Ridiculous! If you are not Covid positive, there is no doubt you'll get it here! They are just sitting you there and let you waiting for long amount of time! Save your breathe and walk the other ER! The front desk is super inpatient and 0 tolerance or customer service! My mom and i came here because we both have Covid symptoms and my mom taste came positive! I went inside on time but there are still many people in front of us and they came later than us and they are walking to get care! I can't understand this! My mom barely breathe and sweating and this people they don't care! I already talked to front desk and literally she doesn't care as she said they are sending people for the severity of whatever they wrote it down there! Some younger people are walking in side and my old mom still sits here and burning in fever! Such a horrible customer service! There is no explanation for how they are treating their ER patients! My mom sits where all the other sick people with no Covid symptoms! This number 818 790 7100 calls me three time to ask some insurance info but it goes to answering machine or i was inside for my XRay! I called them back and they told me nobody did call this number from their department! This weak management was awkward! We are still in waiting room and my mom is in on wheelchair and nobody did call her yet! The most funny part is for simple XRAY result they make you sit for 2 hours!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
