Therapy Services - Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital's Online Review Report Card

Grossly overpriced. Much better services available from other local services.I sent my contact information, as requested in the response below. I also sent a letter to the complaints department. I have yet to hear back from anyone at Cottage. I am now even more aware of the unfair pricing and am writing this to inform others that other high quality providers in town charge between a fourth to a tenth of what I was charged at Cottage. In addition, there was no upfront disclosure regarding costs, even though I specifically asked.

I had my knee replacement done on 12/1/2020 @ GVCH. They took excellent care of me from pre-op, surgery, recovery and on the Med Surg floor. The nurses and PCTs were very attentive and really worked to keep me comfortable. The PTs and OT were also great and helped me feel confident that I could go home safely. I am now getting out patient PT at GVCH and I couldn't be happier. Davis is amazing and staff there are great. I couldn't ask for a better experience!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT COME HERE. I came to the emergency room back in 2014 because I recently got my tonsils out and my wounds opened up and I was bleeding severely. I had to come in and get them cauterized. My horrible experience is STILL going on in 2020 with their billing dept. I have Kaiser insurance and Kaiser is supposed to pay the entire emergency room bill since there isn't a Kaiser close enough to go. Well Kaiser has been in contact with me saying that they have paid the bill and everything should be resolved by now. However, I am still getting collections agencies calling and calling, and every time I try to contact Cottage Hospital billing directly they literally answer ZERO questions and are completely idiotic. I still have not received a response on my claim and they are not directing me to anyone in the dept. that can help me close my account. Kaiser and I have reached out to them several times and either no response or short, completely unhelpful responses. I am just trying to get my bill paid/handled and they are not allowing me to do so. It's been SIX YEARS WTF

While on a mini Vacation, my son had an asthma attack and we could not find his inhaler.  Took him to Cottage Hospital Emergency Room.  Rock star team from Erica (?) at check in to Dr John Anis who evaluated  and treated him, it was the best experience (as far as emergency rooms) I have ever experienced.They evaluated, treated and we were out with in an hour!  Thank you for being great with my son (who is forever afraid of getting a shot to cure him) and making this a positive experience.  If your in the Santa Barbara area, this is the preferred place to go!Great job all of you and thank you!

I have been to this hospital twice both times I found they discriminate by your insurance.  Once you see the check in nurse she knows what insurance you have.  If you have a high quality insurance you get seen right away.  However, if you have CenCal you can wait for hours.The first time I was at this hospital I was taken to a room and waited two hours for a doctor to give me five minutes of his time.  There were no other patients but myself.  He ordered a few test that took a few more hours to get results.  They never came up with anything so I was sent home.This day 10-26-17 I drove myself to the hospital where I checked in once again with the nurse on duty.  My foot, ankle and cafe of my leg were swollen twice as much as the other one.  I was the only one in the waiting room.  It was my opinion that my ankle was broken.  Yet shortly after my arrival a small boy with crop or whooping cough was taken in to a room.  My foot, ankle and cafe continued to swell.  Another boy had a cut across his nose.  He was taken before me.  His mother was friends with the check in nurse.  So he was taken before me.  3 hours I sat in pain watching my foot, cafe and ankle swell more.  My pain was unbearable.  When I went to the desk I was told it would be a long wait.  By the time I saw the sun setting I knew I had to leave, because I suffer from night blindness.If you have the wrong insurance don't expect to get treated soon others with better insurance will take your spot.I don't won't go here again unless forced to.  Vince the head nurse hung up on me when I called in for help. I will be calling the case manager on this matter.  If you have known insurance discrimination at Goleta Cottage Hospital, please post.
