List of Western Sierra Medical Clinic's Reviews
All I want to do is talk to someone on the phone. Utterly impossible. I am forced to go into the clinic, wait for someone to help me when all it is is a follow-up to a previous problem. Poison oak. Not a big deal. But to me it is. Shot didn't work. Need pills. I can't believe how inept this place is.
IT'S OUTRAGIOUS THAT THE REFERAL PERSON WON'T ANSWER THE PHONE SO I OFTEN NEED GO BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN IN PERSON TO FORCE THEM TO FALLOW UP ON GETTING A REFERAL if the referral is complicated! Also, I NEED to ask other doctors to call WSMC on my behalf to ask them to do their job and get the referral done! Even with my children WSMC simply will leave the referral in limbo and stop working on it! Nevertheless, I always thought good of all the medical staff that have treated me there.
This is a great place and I really like my Dr.
They will not answer the phone. Incredibly rude.
This place is horrible. I have was forced for years to go to this place. They dont listen and they treat you garbage.
This is the worst "medical" office I have ever been to. The receptionist, Ashly, was incredibly rude and aggressive with a bad attitude. I wish there was another option in Grass Valley but there is not. I am going to report this office to the California State authority. Terrible!!!!!
Finally decided to get the J&J covid shot. Called all over to find it. The person that answered the phone at WSMC said they have it at the GV Urgent care, walk in between 5-7pm. So we drive an hour to get there, arrive at 6:40, and get told we have to be there by 6:30. We were told they have to thaw out the vaccine, we had to fill out papers, then wait to make sure we don't have a reaction, and there wasn't enough time. I actually tried to call back and verify everything before we left the house, but apparently the first time I got through on the phone was a complete fluke, it never happened again. Just got put on hold and hung up on over and over again. I feel really sorry for anyone that HAS to go to this place for their healthcare. Btw, we got the shot the next day at our local Safeway. In and out in 15 mins. And, the J&J vaccine is not frozen. Soooo WSMC was pretty much bs start to finish.
I have been there for Urgent Care, Women's Health, Pediatric Care, Pharmacy, and Labwork. In several years of going here for various reasons, I only had one bad experience (In 2018, my husband took our infant son into urgent care, and the doctor seemed very dismissive of his concerns. Have not seen that ER doc around since.). Otherwise, the nurses, receptionists, doctors, pediatricians, OBs, and lab techs have been very caring and competant. They have always returned my calls and inquiries promptly, even during the COVID madness. Just took my son into urgent care again last week, and the doctor he saw was very caring and tolerant of his rambunctious toddler self. I am grateful for the care my family has received over the years!
I've called them over a dozen times over the last couple of weeks just trying to schedule an appointment. Each time I tell them that it is quite urgent that I am seen as soon as possible and every time I am assured I will be receiving a call back by the next day to make my appointment. As of this writing I have yet to get a call. I really can't say they deserve even one star as I just can't seem to even get to step one in the first place!
I was only trying to change my appt. with Dr. Plantz to a phone conference because I moved 3 hours away. He was only going to go over a cholesterol test - for which originally he forgot to place in the first blood testings. He denied my request to change this appointment (same time but only to a phone session) and never returned my first call. He just expected me to show up. REALLY!!! IT IS LIKE HE THINKS THAT I AM NOT TELLING THE TRUTH THAT I MOVED. I am so frustrated with his arrogance. I will be reading my own blood test this time. Ugh!!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
