Bart Barrett's Online Review Report Card

This is an update of a previous positive review, this doctor should be removed of his license. Patients be forewarned! Unethical practices, explosive, abusive, unstable doctor. I really think this Barrett has lost his mind. I had an upcoming surgery so I called the office to get an EKG and bloodwork. I made it very clear that the bloodwork needed to be in my hand by the following Thursday for the upcoming surgery on the next Monday. They indicated that there was “no problem“ and made me an appointment. I arrived at the office, the EKG machine was not working. The unit itself took all the information but it was not printing. I had to take a screenshot of the EKG. The following week I began to get nervous; as of Wednesday hadn’t received any word nor had I received my lab results from Dr. Barrett’s office. I called and was told that they would find out what was going on and get back to me. Thursday morning I had received no information so I called the office and left a message on the service. Barrett called me back and started screaming at me how dare I “demand“ anything from him or his staff. I was in shock. I was literally stunned. If it wasn’t his voice I wouldn’t of believed it was him. He is legally and ethically bound to provide my lab results and not only was he refusing he was being abusive! That is what I told him. He lied and claimed that he was not the doctor on call and that he “wasn’t working that day” yet I have recorded proof that he was in fact the doctor on call. Further he told me that his office doesn’t “offer EKGs“. Interesting. There is an EKG machine that I photographed and documented history of the staff making me an appointment for an EKG. Barrett refused to listen to me, he told me he wasn’t obligated to do anything for me and he HUNG UP ON ME. I started freak out because I was having surgery in a different state, my surgeon was relying on the information, and the surgery was on Monday! I called the service again, Barrett refused to return my calls. When the office opened I called and he got on the phone and screamed at me and told me he was going to hang up on me and told me never to call back. I did call back, he was illegally withholding my medical information. He also advised the staff to hang up on me, which they did multiple times. I was in tears, absolute panic. This was an unconscionable and purposeful effort to deny me of my medical information by Dr. Barrett, and at his direction, his staff. My husband called the office then and Barrett got on the phone screamed at him, and hung up again. There are multiple ethical violations here, the least of which, and any doctor knows very well what the protocol is for releasing a patient, and Barrett failed miserably. He and his staff have continued to charge me his medical fee on a monthly basis in spite of his having refused to provide medical services to me. I ended up having to go to another lab on an emergency basis to get the a whole new series of lab workups. I did not have my surgery specifically because of Barrett and his abusive refusal to legally provide MY medical information. Ironically a few days later, and apparently realizing he royally effed up and is looking at a lawsuit, he emailed me a contrite email saying that my results had been “lost“. Nice try Barrett. Any child knows that what Dr. Bart Barrett and his staff did is not only unethical, harmful, and immoral, it is also illegal. I will be posting all updates, as well as publicly available information on any lawsuits, results of said lawsuits and formal complaints and the results regarding this situation. This man may have been a good doctor once, but it is time for him to go. I don’t know, and I’m sure we will find out, what other patients he has treated this way. His staff too will be held accountable, and they might rightfully go after him for putting them in a position to follow his hysterical and illegal demands. This is completely unacceptable for a physician, who is legally and ethically bound to certain standards and laws.

Easy to get to. Friendly staff. Extremely helpful.

ILOVE Dr. Barrett and Brandy. They have been so helpful whenever I needed it, like getting rear ended and they were able to get me in the next day. However, their front office staff is very uneducated and drops the ball. Their system was down so I was unable to get a referral after my appointment on a Tuesday. I was told I would get it by Friday, which did not happen. On Monday I called and they said I didn't need a referral for an OBGYN. None of the offices will schedule me without a referral. When I login to my patient portal I'm assigned to a OBGYN not in my network. I called the front office when Alyssa answered and I explained the situation how the front office dropped the ball multiple times. She said it's not the front office and threatened to hang up the phone call and admitted to having attitude with me. I am beyond shocked this practice has this type of person working for them. I will be finding a new doctor because of this experience.
