List of Grace Kasamatsu Md's Reviews
Dr. Kasamatsu is fantastic. She sees all 3 of our children and adjusts quickly to each one. She is honest and forthright in helping us to understand her recommendations.
We had to call 911 for our son because he collapsed in our home. While he was at the hospital, I contacted Dr. Kasumatsu to let her know what had happened. She communicated with me during his ER visit and after telling her what the ER Dr. had said, she recommended that we see a Cardiologist and asked if we could get our son there that very day. We said yes of course, and she even helped set that up. We are forever thankful for Dr. Kasamatsu! She said that we could have brought him in to their office, but seeing a Cardiologist is exactly what would have been recommended. Thanks again to Dr. Kasamatsu, you were there for us during a very scary time. We are so fortunate to have Surf City Pediatrics, but especially you, for your concern and care! We highly recommend Dr. Kasamatsu!
Dr. Kasamatsu is a wonderful, caring doctor who genuinely cares about your child. She is very patient and doesn't rush off to see the next patient. She attentively listens to your concerns and also talks directly to the child. My kids love her! They like that they can call her 'Dr. K', too!She also has an amazing office staff (Lori) who squeezed us into her schedule earlier this year when my child came down with flu symptoms. She immediately tested him and prescribed meds that made him feel better almost immediately! And don't worry about leaving a message for her nurse about a concern, question or prescription refill! I've left a message at 4pm and got a return call that same day!! (Cheryl &Another great thing is when my child was really sick, I was able to make an appointment on Saturday!!! Unreal!

Dr. K is an amazing doctor. Both of my kids have gone to her since birth.
We love Dr. Kasamatsu. She was recommended to me by my OBGYN when I was pregnant with my first child. Dr. Kasamatsu is caring, friendly and most of all remembers my kids without having to look at her notes. Her office located in Huntington Beach is clean, staff is friendly and is open on Saturdays. I have nothing but good things to say about her.
Dr. Grace Kasamatsu is an excellent doctor. She remembers you and cares about your child a lot. When I had my first son at Hoag, he had to be transferred to CHOC within 24 hours of being born because he had a subdural hematoma from birth trauma. She checked up on him constantly by calling the nurses. She belongs to the Greater Newport Medical Group so she wasn't at CHOC to see him but just the fact she called almost everyday to check up on his status showed that she cared. When my second son was born (thankfully with no complications), she informed the nurses at newport hoag to be sensitive to my constant questions and worry because of what I went through with my first. I thought that was nice of her because she knew I was worried. I wouldn't want to go with any other doctor for my kids.
She was quick to jump to a diagnosis of reflux and tried to really push medication for my newborn baby. She didn't look at other possibilities and missed that he does not have reflux, but was having issues with breastfeeding(a fast letdown)and gas, which have the same symptoms. She also kept pushing that the baby should be on medication, which isn't necessary. Not happy with her and switched pediatricians.
Expect to stand at the front desk with a receptionist refusing to acknowledge you for ten minutes, then sit in the waiting room for a half hour, then wait in the examining room for 45 minutes -- with your child or children bouncing off the walls. Why they need the patients to arrive so long before the doctor is available is beyond me, as is her inability to care what a nightmare this is. No way is the average wait time just 25 minutes. I've never seen her within an hour. But management skills aside, she's a great doctor.
Unhappy with quality of service, especially the office staff.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
