List of Hoag Urgent Care Huntington Harbour's Reviews
This facility has always been amazing, even during 2020 when they were overworked, understaffed, and overwhelmed they still took care of me with great skill and care. Today really stood out though. Even though I mad my appointment for the following day (oops) they got me in within 10 minutes. Mario (the x-ray guy) and & Dr. Andrew Nguyen are amazing. Mario took care of me during vitals for the scan, and rebandaged me up after. He was thoughtful and friendly, kind and efficient. You can tell he loves his job, gets along with his coworkers, and cares about the patients. Dr. Nguyen was so fast, so thorough, and looked me in the eye when we were talking. He listened, asked for clarification of important details, explained what was going on, and what to do moving forward. He asked about what I did for work and how that may affect my recovery. He even went so far as to call the radiologist once he got the results, and the pharmacy to have my prescription ready on the way home. Truly I am grateful I got this team today.
Rib injuries *hurt!* I didn't think they could do anything but diagnose and help with pain, but that was all I wanted, and I wasn't disappointed. I got x-rays, a diagnosis (costochondritis), and advice for pain relief in less than an hour. (I was the only one there; it was nice.) The staff and N.P. were kind, courteous, and thorough.
2023 I had a shin contusion & hand & face abrasions. When I arrived, there were three people ahead of me waiting for treatment at noon. They took me next since I was urgent. Care was excellent. PA Megan reviewed my medical history, assessed & completely discussed the injuries & prescribed treatment. The waiting room was empty when I left. Christmas Eve, 2022 Treated for post-covid (day 13) extreme nausea. The PA assessed my symptoms & prescribed treatment. While the wait & treatment was about 2 hours, I was non-urgent. 2018 Teenage daughter nearly severed her finger tip on a Thursday evening. Staff was quick and effective. Doctor carefully assessed the injury and expertly repaired the cut.
I woke up yesterday morning feeling sick. So o decided not to wait to 9am for my Doctor, I went to this location. They took me immediately (usually when you go to a doctor appointment they let you in the room for soooo long not here, in 15 minutes I got my result and my treatment. The team there are very nice. Definitely recommend this place!
My wife ( under my insurance) had fallen and we went to Hoag Urgent care for X-Rays, etc. They X rayed the concerned limbs and declared in their report that there was no fracture. However, we informed them that she is an Osteopathic patient and that she should have an MRI as well. Somehow, they bungled the order for the MRI order and only one of her limbs was MRI'd. When we finally got that bureaucratic mess unraveled, the second MRI revealed a fracture. She needed surgery. The PA at the surgery center spotted the fracture right away from the Urgent Care's own X-Ray and she couldn't understand how they didn't spot it right away. This revelation was 10 days after her fall. So, bottom line, if you want to be absolutely sure that you are receiving the most capable care, Hoag in Huntington Beach is not your best choice. Extra star for facility condition and parking.
I'm maybe been sick for a week. Monday, I had a video call with a wonder NP and was prescribed some meds. Was advised to go in, if symptoms didn't get better. Today I made an online appointment checked in from home and was seen almost immediately after arriving. From receptionist to the NP, everyone was amazing and so friendly and helpful! This was the best experience I have ever had I do recommend this location.
What a joke my daughter was completely mis~diagnosed and was made to suffer all day without eating. incompetent and a lack of basic medical skills the PA ordered an ultrasound turned out all she had was GAS!!!...$$$ that's what they got we got a hungry child... don't go there ever
This is a great urgent care. Hoag is pretty on point when it comes to patient care and I appreciate that they honor appointment times. I'd recommend making an appointment because the walk-in wait time can get long. Dr. Motamarri and the nurse who treated me (Aaron) were both excellent. Special shoutout to Aaron who was very empathetic and encouraging with what I was going through. There is one thing I don't like about the urgent care set up. If you are a walk-in, you have to verbally tell the front desk person why you are there. This can be embarrassing to share since other patients are within earshot. Perhaps Hoag can change this to a written or electronic approach where you check in on an iPad and select your symptoms there.
Very professional and caring. I went in with a horrible bout of food poisoning and they took great care of me. From the front desk to the nurses to the doctor they were a great team. I see many specialists and I wouldn't hesitate to use Hoag Urgent Care (the HB Harbor location) again.
The best urgent care i have been to so far. As always I have never been dissapointed by Hoag and its affiliated facilities, so same with this one. I walked in randomly for a UTI, was told to wait for 1 hour but surprisingly was called in for vitals with in 15 minutes and then gave sample and had consultation with a PA in another 15 minutes. So the total time for visit was 30 minutes. Fast enough! Awsome staff and awsome facility!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
