Dr “No.” More concerned about saving fifteen cents than patient’s needs. She is physically uncomfortable hence somewhat inattentive. Rushes out without checking if patient has any further concerns.
Okay. Just feel I have to warn you guys. This doctor was the worst I have ever seen. Dismissed all my concerns. Made me feel like I was faking. Turns out I have a condition called frozen shoulder, a common condition. She couldn't take the time to do the few necessary simple tests to diagnose, and sent me away with no help. A few weeks (and lots of pain) later, a pt moved my arm around for less than one minute and told me what I had, as confirmed by the pcp that replaced this incompetent and uncaring doctor.
Glad for yelp reviews. I switched from PPO to Hmo this year and boy hard to find "normal" quality doctors. I didn't get good service at Dr. Shida Saam's front staff in Irvine so asked for another but received a whole envelope with instructions to provide "premade stamped envelopes" for them to mail things. How archaic. I used to sign on portal with Hoag and got all my lab pdf. Dr. Saam said they could only print out result as well. These doctors are outdated and get client inflowing mainly due to the good ones being booked. Thanks to other reviews I'm cancelling. My intuition tells me gonna be an unpleasant visit.
There are a few things that I was disappointed about w/ regards to Dr. Doan, one of them being the fact that she doesn't do ANYTHING electronically, each script/lab has to be picked up in person. A few responses that she gave me when I went to see her were not what I would expect from a doctor, and the receptionist wasn't very friendly when I recently called.
Love her, she is the best and her staff is stellar. Thanks Lorraine for all your help!
Cash only during COVID!!! No electronic whatsoever. Everything is paper. Very punishing. Long wait time. Condescending. Buyer beware: If you are obedient and enjoy being dismissed again and again, stick to this doctor. Would recommend you do your research and contact your insurance for a change in Primary Care Provider. Look up reviews before committing to her as your PCP. Change to a different provider will save you time and headaches! If you get assigned this so-called doctor, please contact your insurance and change immediately. She doesn't have a heart.
I should have been leary when I made my new patient appt. They said they would mail my New Patient Package. I asked if they would email it and was told they do not use email. My initial visit was horrible. I arrived early, yet waited about an hour for her to see me. After she went over all my current doctors and meds, she informed me that she does nothing electronically, they don't use computers! All scripts need to be picked up in person. And she told me that if I left self-addressed, stamped envelopes she would mail all referrals, scripts, etc. How archaic is this? Then she started to walk out. I asked what about the issues I came in for, like low blood pressure? Her response, "your low blood pressure is probably due to the meds you're taking" and left. Really? I am definitely not going back.
She takes times with her patients. She is caring, thorough, understanding and knowledgeable.
I had been a patient of hers for years. I needed a letter saying I was free from any disease for a visa to live and work in Spain for a year. Her nurse told me she couldn’t because what if I pulled an Amanda Knox or did something, Doan would be liable. Seriously? I did see a therapist after my brother died so I found her refusal discriminatory. I didn’t even get to see Doan, she told her nurse to tell me. I went to my old Primary Care doctor and had my letter within 5 minutes. Never saw Doan again. She doesn’t seem to like her job.
Personable, caring, efficient plus staff is very good with communication.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
