Mohamad Barakat's Online Review Report Card

I was with the Medical Group for 20 years and I was very happy with Doctor Eleanor Quan. The first 16 years were great. My doctor was a lovely, warm, and a very smart.Woman..She gave me great care and I always knew that if I needed her, she was there for me. In 2018 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer for the second time and it came back with a vengeance.. She made sure I was being taken care of by a Great Surgeon, and a very good RadiationOncologist Within six months my tumor was gone and I was able to have my surgery . All was well until Covid started spreading very quickly. One day i got a call from Dr Quan telling me that she was leaving the group for Personal reasons . I was sad but she told me she would leave me with Dr. Luke Chen. For the first year or so I did not see him in person due to Covid. I talked to him through Facetime. Luckily I was doing well. I finally got to see him and he was very cold and business like. I tried to deal with that, but I never had much faith in him.. I saw his PA and she was very good, but I knew I would have to stay with Dr Chen. Sometime in 2021 All of Pacific Shores was acquired by City of Hope. When I went to see him be acted strange and when I asked him if I was going to stay with the group. He just said he didn't know. He was very upset and so was I . I finally got a letter from My insurance and they said City of Hope was not going to contract with our Medical Group. We were given other Oncologists that we were go to. Again I was upset, at the last minute we were able to stay. That lasted another year or so and we were asked to leave again. This was very upsetting. Dr Chen didn't even let me know himself. I called the office staff and they were confused too about this change, but we're very kind about getting my records. I was very lucky because the group I transferred to is excellent. And so is My Doctor. I would never refer anyone to this group or Dr Luke Chen. He may be smart but he has no bedside manner.

Best Dr Ever Dr Barakat is all you ever wished to have in any Dr: Professional expert in his field, caring, detail oriented, a Dr who has studied your details and comes to the appointment having reviewed all your tests and charts. He takes his time to make sure he has covered all the issues at hand and explains his recommendations. Also, his office staff are on time calling me for my next test/appointments. I have been going to Dr Barakat for the last two years and I highly recommend him should you need his expertise.

While the doctor was capable and knowledgeable, office staff was inept. Had to reschedule and the office staff attitude seemed indifferent to my needs

I would recommend Dr Barakat to family and friends, my visits with him always goes well. He makes sure all is going wells with me and runs test to make sure all is well also.

I am the health care power of attorney for the patient I accompanied to the visit with Dr. Barakat. Having accompanied her for the last four years to all of her doctor appts (which have been numerous considering her health issues) it is always a pleasure to find a doctor who listens patiently, who explains thoroughly, and exhibits compassion and concern for what the patient is dealing with, in a kind, friendly manner. The patient was nervous and concerned, but left there feeling less so as a result of Dr. Barakat's calming manner. What an outstanding physician!

Dr. Barakat exceeds expectations. He is very knowledgeable and patiently answered our questions. We are very grateful to have such a caring doctor.
