List of Assad Darawal's Reviews
My wife has coverage through both Medicare and Medi-Cal. We recently moved here and were looking for a new PCP for her. I called the main Desert Care Network # (of which Dr A is a member) and was told that Dr. Assad Darawal (in Indio) was the ONE doc in the network that took medi-medi patients. I called his office last week, confirmed explicitly that the doctor accepted both Medicare and Medi-Cal, and made a virtual appointment (via FaceTime) for March 7 at 4pm.At 4:08, no one had yet called, so I called the office and was immediately put on hold. Six minutes later, still on hold, I hung up & called again. This time I got a person & was able to explain that we were waiting on a FaceTime call from Dr Darawal, and they confirmed who we were. The woman then said she saw that may wife had medicare, & did we have a secondary insurance as well? I explained that yes, we had Medi-Cal, and that we'd provided that info already in the extensive new patient packet we'd been asked to fill out. She said that Dr. Darawal did NOT accept Medi-Cal. I explained that calls to both Desert Care Network & their own office had confirmed that he did. She seemed sure that he didn't, but said she'd put me on hold and look into it. 10 minutes later, no one had come back for me, so I hung up and called back (it's 4:27 at this point).Rang a long time, then an outgoing message saying no one was available to answer, and to call back some other time. No way to leave a voice mail. Tried again. This time I got a new person, explained my situation, and she said that Dr. Darawal DID in fact accept medi-medi patients, that she wasn't sure why I'd been told otherwise, and that Dr. Darawal was running late because "he had a meeting." I explained the runaround I'd been getting, that no one had called us (it was all ME calling THEM), and asked for a callback very soon or we'd have to look elsewhere for a PCP. They never called back. What I expect from a doctor, or ANY professional office/business, is :1. clear, accurate, and consistent information (like RE: what insurances they accept)2. that they do what they say they're going to do (e.g. call you back).3. that if they aren't able to answer their phone during business hours, that they'll have a way to leave a voice mail, rather than the patient having to just keep trying back and hoping for the best.It was actually a relief that their incompetence was SO clear, so I felt very good about my decision not to have them be in charge of our health care. Patient beware.
His staff is so un professional they do not know how to schedule appointments i have been trying to see him since june .i had to fill in papers ,then he never called me ..made an appointment again for sept 21 he never called .so i called and they have switched my appt until sept 29 appt was at 3:15 waiting waiting ..untill i called at 3:45 the ladies tell me that they have been trying to reach me cause i need new forms again since i am considered a new patient.why didnt they said that when i call them on the 21 of sept they are rude and do not care if we need to see the dr...called my insurance to get a new dr..and file a complaint ..

He is a good doctor and their response is fast and very helpful.
The best doctor in the coachella valley he will find your medical problem and will help you feel better
I have been seeing Dr. for many many years he has taken care of my wife and myself. Thank for your help
I've been with this doctor for over like 5 months now and him and his staff are very kind they responded to all my questions and he is also quick and shows that he cares about his patients.
Waiting time is ridiculous!! Will not be coming back.
This doctor and his staff were very kind to me and my family. The doctor himself was very thorough and answered all the questions I had and was very knowledgeable about my rare disease. (Which is hard to find in the Coachella Valley) There was a bit of a wait. However, it was well worth the wait. I'm glad to have chosen this doctor for our primary needs.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
