Alan R. Schenk's Online Review Report Card

My mother has been seeing Dr. Schenk and he has not helped her. He forgets what he says to her from the previous appointment, has changed her meds so many times. Poor communication. And her pain has gotten so severe he won't address her pain. I've encouraged her to find a new doctor.

Front office staff very professional and very friendly. Blanca was so kind and empathetic. Dr. Schenk is very knowledgeable.

I took my 91 yr. old mother to. Dr. Shrenk was totally inconsiderate of her age and and dementia He was short with her, did not give her the respect or courtesy of someone her age and condition I could have overlooked his bedside manner, if he was an outstanding doctor, however unfortunately his medical skills were no better.

I needed a Reclast shot for my osteoporosis treatment. I sent detailed doctors files prior to the appointment. They did not review the files before. I was asked random questions and was given what seemed like a general check up, then asked to get more labs done. All they wanted to do was schedule another appointment and I still wouldn't know if I was approved for the shot. It felt like the doctor took advantage of me, was not efficient, effective or respectful of my time.

I’ve been seeing Dr Schenk for several years. Always kind and reviews my test results but the last 2 times i saw Nancy. The only thing she kept harping on me was to lose weight. I’ve stopped going there and will see my regular doc for my blood work

Several visits, no treatment -- but always a BIG push for the NEXT appointment. No consideration of the patient's time -- long waits every visit; and when he would finally show, he had not even spent a minute to review his notes. So the "consult" would be him reading the notes, you repeating everything from the last visit, and him putting it back into his computer as the "new" notes. Seemed like he was just trying to milk the insurance co. -- so just stopped going. His staff kept calling.

I was unable to find many (any) Rheumatologists in South Orange County since my condition is not chronic and require special intervention. Dr. Schenk's office willingly accepted me and scheduled a prompt appointment. Staff are excellent and promptly respond to calls. Dr. Schenk's demeanor and explanations are above average. High recommendation!
