Carla Wells, Md's Online Review Report Card

I saw a post on Reddit about someone having a bad experience with Dr. Wells because she didn't feel cared for. I can see how she may not be for everyone but I have no doubt in her ability to provide proper care. She may come off cold but I never once felt like she didn't care. As annoying as it was, she ordered an extra glucose test for me so we knew what my baseline would be. Her threshold is also higher so I had to do the longer test after failing the first one. I did end up with gestational diabetes the second time I tested so it ended up being the right choice. Most importantly, she was there the day I went into labor even though she had PTO. According to my nurse, she prefers to deliver her own patients which I'm learning is not the norm. She came in to check on me the day after also. If you're looking for an OB to feel like your friend she may not be the best fit, but if you want someone who takes your care seriously, she's the right person,

Horrible experience!!! Could have had a just fibroids removed but this was NEVER discussed. After my surgery she told my family that she would come out and tell them how it went. She left them waiting in the waiting room. These doctors only want to perform surgery. They DO NOT give you the less invasive options.

It’s been 3 years since Dr. Wells delivered my baby and I still look back so grateful she was my doctor. I see negative reviews here and don’t think they are 100% fair. At the end of the day, Dr. Wells is an EXCELLENT clinician. I was a high risk pregnancy and my son was born healthy. My C-section scar is barely noticeable. For me, the most important criteria would be to have a skilled physician taking care of me, not how long I waited or how rude an office staff member was. I whole heartedly recommend this doctor.

I didn't have to wait long to be seen by the doctor even if it was my first time in her clinic.Her medical assistant was also friendly and not in.a rush.Dr Wells was very nice,and made me feel at ease right away. She was also very gentle which was very much appreciated.

Dr wells Is an AMAZING doctor. She may look like Sandra bullock. But can sandy B do circumcisions nurses and other doctors RAVE about? Nope. As a “high risk pregnancy”, Dr. Wells put thought into EVERY decision and every test, med, prenatal to ensure I had no issues for myself and my baby! She Delivered my healthy baby boy, with such ease and made a first time momma feel secure and PROUD! thank you dearly.

Carla Wells was my OBGYN 8 years ago when I was pregnant with my son. It was an awful experience. One that still traumatizes me to this day. I don’t know why I haven’t written this before. I can confirm that even that long ago her staff was rude. When I first made the appointment when I found out I was pregnant her nurse was extremely judgmental. I didn’t know it at the time but I had hyperemisis gravidarum. I was so sick that I couldn’t take care of myself and when I told her nurse the reply was “well Dr. wells doesn’t give time off just for nausea!” The day of my delivery at Hoag she was so upset that my baby wasn’t coming out fast enough she said “I can’t sit here all day watching the monitor. You have one hour to deliver or I’m going to perform a c-section”. The Hoag nurse then calls her an hour later because I was crowning. When she got there I started to push and again when things weren’t going fast enough she actually said to me “Do you know how many red lights I had to run to get here?” The Hoag nurse told me she had never encountered a doctor like her. They both argued about my delivery. The nurse kept telling me how good I was doing because she could see how sad I was. Wells was heartless and cold. It makes me so sad that my first pregnancy was so horrible all around. I wouldn’t recommend her. I don’t know why she hated me so much.

Highly recommend Dr. Wells is a very friendly doctor. Listen and Answered all my questions. I felt very comfortable with her. Her front office staffs and back office staff were very nice and professional as well. Would definitely recommend Dr. Carla Wells and the friendly staff.
