Dr. Grouse was superb when I needed her most. Through breast cancer & regretfully a hysterectomy she assured I had confidence! It worked! I will now be returning to her nearly 12 years later!
I had several negative experiences with Dr. Grouse over the course of the 10+ years that she was my doctor. She delivered my first son and there were complications and I was extremely disappointed because she did not disclose the source of my infection and I later learned that the cause was negligence on her part. I would not recommend Dr. Grouse to a new patient.
Dr. Grouse took care of me during my first pregnancy and she was wonderful! I knew I was in good hands and she provided a lot of emotional support when I needed it. She is super dedicated to her profession. Although her own surgery coming up, she still came to work and was always professional...I will always be grateful to her for her support during my first pregnancy.
Dr. Grouse has an assistant/office person who is NOT a nurse, but who acts like she thinks shes a doctor and a gatekeeper. She repeatedly gives WRONG medical information (unsolicited) and refuses to get a doctor or nurse on the phone. She did that more than once during a high risk pregnancy. When we let Dr. Grouse know about this and suggested that other patients might be unhappy if they miscarried because of this persons imaginary MD degree, Dr. Grouse basically told us that since this person had been there at the office for a long time, she wouldnt be getting rid of her and that was that. On other occasions, this person refused to give us our medical records and told the other office staff not to give it to us even though its the law. Luckily, one other office staff member had the brains and the backbone to stand up to her and we got our records and got out of there! Having to wait 45 minutes to over an hour for every single OB appointment was also a big pain.
Excellent doctor..even though wed go prepared with notes we found that she would answer all the qs before we even had the opportunity to ask them within the first 5 mins of meeting her!Very thorough, professional and extremely helpful. Highly recommend.
Dr. Grouse is very personable and competent. I would be happy to recommend her. However, I found her office manager, Janet, to be rude and condescending. She does not listen to symptoms and makes it extremely unpleasant to make am appointment.
Dr. Grouse was horrible!!! I never saw her but saw her nurse, Carmen for my prenatal visits. One visit that I did see her, I had preterm contractions and when I told her about them she disregarded me as a first time mom. The contractions led to dilation at 26 weeks and I was sent to the hospital for 5 days. I was given Terbutaline which caused me to shake, Magnesium Sulfate, which caused me to loose all control of my limbs and vomit and Procardia for 2 weeks. These are all offlabel, non FDA approved medications for preterm labor. I was never consulted on the side effects and had no obstetrical consultation in case of an eventual preterm situation so that I could research my options. I did not know at the time that the FDA warned physicians that these drugs are potentially dangerous and might not be effective. My son now has autism and I have health issues. Dr. Grouse also had me wait until she had lunch to deliver my baby, although I was already dilated and had been basically in labor for weeks already. This caused respiratory stress to my son, as I was given oxygen because his oxygen levels had dropped.
Dr. Grouse delivered my last two children after helping us through a very difficult miscarriage. My youngest are now 8 and 9 years old. Her staff were always friendly and helpful, and remembered me by name years later. I left the area for the past two years and recently moved back, and am looking forward to seeing Dr. Grouse again. She was the most compassionate doctor joining us in our tears and our joy. I highly recommend.
Competence that eases your mind, caring, attentive compassion that is always there; intelligence and the this must be done right attitude that gives you, the patient, the kind of confidence you need and want. Theses comments are from a patient who refers others to her without hesitation. Excellence you can and need to be able to trust!
I agree, Dr. Grouse is an amazing OB/GYN!
Dr. Grouse delivered my first baby last month. Ive been seeing her and her wonderful staff antepartum and postpartum and they are all wonderful and very knowledgeable. Whenever I had a question, be it about paperwork or something pregnancy related, they would always see me right away. I was extremely nervous about pregnancy and delivery and Dr.Grouse made me very comfortable, especially the day of. I would definitely recommend her!
Dr. Grouse delivered my first child. She was rude, uncaring, and unresponsive. She was already at the hospital for a scheduled Csection, and although I was having many complications, didnt bother to come in to check on me. When she FINALLY came in after I had been unsuccessfully pushing for several hours, she determined the baby was not in the right position. She quickly helped to turn the baby and left. Unfortunately, because I was pushing for so long in the stirrups, I suffered nerve damage and was left with a paralyzed leg. She made a rude comment about me not going without the epidurral as I had hoped, and that I was lazy because she used the vacuum on my last push. Furthermore, when I was sent home with a walker, because I was till paralyzed, I fell and broke my ankle. When I called her office, not only did she not return my calls, but her staff told me I was irresponsible, and what if I had dropped my baby.It was only after my husband spoke to one of her associates and they feared a law suit that she called back. My complications were unnecessary and due to her lack of compassion. I wish I had known what kind of doctor she was before I had her deliver my child. It is supposed to be a wonderful experience, not one with so much sorrow.
Dr. Grouse is not very nice. and she has her staff doing her work of diagnosis. for past 6 months i am having sores in my mouth and i found out that it is related to my menstural cycle and what i hear from the office is in 17 year theyhave never heard of this type. They need to do proper clinical study before rejecting any patient concern. I had gone for my nuvaring 3 month followup and her comment was why do you need followup.. I will not recommend her to any one.
Dr Grouse is an amazing obgyn. She is very experienced and really knows what shes doing. My Csection was so perfect that I just had to take pain killers for 1 day. It is true that visits are short and Dr Grouse had advised to get a list of questions which was perfect for us. She always answered questions and was etremely pleasant. She is busy because shes good!
I had her as my doctor during 32 weeks of my pregnancy. I had to transfer to another doctor because of her unacceptable demeanor. As a patient, I feel I have rights to understand my healthcare options and management; right to be part of decision making. I found Dr. Grouse very difficult to approach. She is condescending when I question my care. I spent hours waiting in the patient room for her, and found her always in a rush with me. I never could get my questions answer without her sarcastism and belittlement.
