List of Hoag Hospital Irvine's Reviews
Came to Urgent Care because my dad had a laceration. When we got there on a Friday at 4:30p, there was probably about 5 people in the lobby waiting to be seen. 3 hours later still in waiting area and there was about about 40 to 50 people there. By the time we got out it was 9:30p. Loooong day!
You will die waiting for help at this hospital. The is no emergency care here. Its stressful, uncomfortable, and a waist of time. We have been here 5 hours and still haven't seen a doctor
You will die waiting for help. We have been here 5 hours in the EMERGENCY ROOM. Some one needs to explain the meaning of emergency to this hospital.
Had a knee replacement several years ago. All went well and the nurses were nice and all. It was an out patient procedure but when I received the bill they charged me for a private overnight room for the tune of $3,000 plus billed me twice for the same pain pump. They said I received the same service as I would have if I stayed overnight. They would not remove the room charge. Reply to "Response from the owner" - You reply is nonsense. I had three calls with your billing dept. Every time the response was the same, "you were billed for a private room because we had one on hold for you in case you needed to be admitted" I explained I was not admitted and left the hospital as an out patient. Never saw the room.
Exceptional Care and Compassion in the ERI recently had the opportunity to receive care from Dr. Ahmed A. Elrefaie at Hoag Hospital's emergency room in Irvine, and I am compelled to share my overwhelmingly positive experience. From the moment I meet him at the ER, Dr. Elrefaie displayed an extraordinary level of dedication and empathy that truly set him apart from other medical professionals I have encountered. He went above and beyond his responsibilities by personally reaching out to all parties involved in my case, ensuring that everyone was on the same page and working towards a common goal. His commitment to clear and effective communication made a significant difference in the coordination of my care.In today's fast-paced medical environment, it is increasingly rare to find a doctor who demonstrates such genuine compassion for their patients. Dr. Elrefaie's heartfelt concern and attentiveness made my experience in the ER much more comforting and manageable. Not only did Dr. Elrefaie exhibit exceptional professionalism, but he also brought a personal touch to his interactions with me. His presence truly made the ER a more welcoming and reassuring environment.I am honored to have met Dr. Ahmed A. Elrefaie and to have been under his care during my time at Hoag Hospital. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking top-notch medical care delivered with warmth and understanding. Dr. Elrefaie is a shining example of what makes the medical profession extraordinary special in ER , and I am grateful for his remarkable dedication to his patients.
This is forTheir urgent care because that's where I was treated. Unbelievably fast, on point. And they gave me all the paperwork necessary to be seen by a specialist. Homerun for me.
Hoag Irvine. They used to be good. Absolute worst choice Nurse's are incompetent and floor Doctors just there for payday. Goto Kaiser for emergency or Mission hills. Don't get caught dead at this zombie factory.
For many years was voted one of through top hospitals in the nation
If I could give hospital a zero I would...just go somewhere else. From the waiting room to the way the workers look at you its awful.
I came in on Friday March 10th because I was in afib. It's not an uncommon occurrence for me, but I was very scared, and I have horrible anxiety when it comes to hospital settings. I was seen by Dr. Dang. Dr. Dang took the time to sit down with me and explain that I would not be cardioverted, but needed to have fluids for my dehydration, and also needed to be seen by a cardiologist and possibly be prescribed blood thinners and a calcium blocker on top of my current beta blockers. I told Dr. Dang that I would wait. But then was overcome by anxiety and tried to leave. I was taken to a room in the ER (the nurse on duty was also very kind and patient). But I kept insisting that I could drink fluids on my own and I was leaving. Dr. Dang returned to the room, almost immediately, and again explained to my why I needed to stay. He didn't force the IV fluids on me (I have needle anxiety) and instead let me drink water. My heart was monitored. Dr. Dang came back after meeting with the cardiologist, and took the time to sit with me and go over the results from the cardiologist. He was so kind and so patient and treated me as if I was family. I'm so grateful for this experience. I've had bad times with doctors who have had (in my opinion) overly inflated egos, who have forced treatments on me, and not listened to me. Dr. Dang was the exact opposite of what I've been traumatized about in the past. Both his professionalism and kindness deserve to to be praised. The nurse (I wish I had her name) was equally as kind. Thank you to everyone who was on staff Friday March 10, 2023. You are all very much appreciated. Your kindness means so much to me.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
