Jay Patel's Online Review Report Card

Knee replaced almost 3 years ago. I would rate my overall experience as 99% successful. If you are in need of a knee replacement, I would highly recommend Dr Patel.

From our first meeting in April I felt relaxed and confident that I had made the right choice. I had TKR done and could not have gone any better. His entire support staff is outstanding preop to post op. Will get my second knee by him too.

Dr Patel replaced my knee. He is excellent - before, during and after. best recovery. Had another knee done in another city and still not good. I highly recommend Dr Patel.

Dr. Patel gave me my life back. After a prior unsuccessful surgery with a different doctor, I was afraid I’d never feel good again. I was 32 years old. I received a total hip replacement with Dr. Patel and within a week, I felt better. Would recommend a million times over.

I used Dr. Jay Patel for my hip replacement nearly a year ago. St. Joseph's Home Health sent over a nurse to my home who was not the most competent. She snipped my sutures but did not remove them. I was told they were self-dissolving and they were not. When I say Dr. Patel, he had his office nurse remove the sutures. Almost a year later, I removed yet another inch-long suture which had not been removed. It's a miracle I did not have an infection. I also complained of remaining pain in my hip (and my constant limp) and he said it would go away within a year. I wish I had used another orthopedic surgeon as he doesn't go out of his way to address his patient's needs very well.

Dr. Patel is beyond awesome. He did hip replacements on both of my hips. The first one was in 2013, and I didn’t have to take any pain medicine after. The second in 2018, I had to take pain med for a week. However, I drove again after two week of in-home physical therapy. I lightly did Zumba after .3 weeks, & Yoga after 4. I’d never dreamed that I could walk again without pain. Yet, after both surgeries, I can do Zumba better than a teenager, (or so i think). Further, his staff are very professional & respectful. They address me as “doctor” because I’m a shrink. I thank God for Dr. Patel who is a miracle worker!

Dr, Patel is not a talker. He's a doer. He'll answer all your questions, but he's not going to waste a lot of time on chit chat. He did my hip replacement, and I couldn't be happier. I would recommend him highly.

Dr Patel did a hip replacement for me and I was completely out of pain and could walk in a day that was in2012 and I still feel great I researched him prior to seeing him and the research about him proved to be as positive as indicated thank you dr patel

i just had hip surgery with dr. patel ! The man is someone i consider to be a genius surgery went well, and i have ONLY him to thank for it. He is not one to chit chat or waste time, he's there to do his job and move on, i didnt go to him for his wonderful personality, i went for skill instead. SO glad i did. "he is the cream of the crop'

He may be a good doctor, but he doesn't have people skills. He didn't sit down once while I was there. Listened to bits and pieces of my "story" and sent me off for x-rays. Wasn't concerned where my pain was. When the x-rays came back, he stood in front of the monitor and said, "looks good. You're fine." I asked, "what about my pain." He said he would give me the name of a back specialist if I wanted. He spoke out a name and left. Never sat down. If it was a simple issue, he would probably be okay. But, if you have a complex problem that you want a doctor to hear you out and understand what is going on--so they can explain to you what is going on, forget about Dr. Patel.
