Kim T. Lam's Online Review Report Card

I will never see Dr. Kim T. Lam again. You may end up doing a procedure you may not need and detrimental to your mind and health. It was my first visit with her but I've been with the OCWMG group for many years. I loved my prior doctor but has retired. I didn't feel right with her diagnosis and luckily, I went with my gut feeling. She can't tell the truth when I asked her about it. Things just doesn't change from 1 day to the next and make it seem like it was not a big deal then try to minimize it.I can't trust her.

My appointment was cancelled because of their mistake scheduling. I called back to reschedule my appointment and I have to wait 1 month longer ??? I don't understand how they work. The doctor was okay for first couple times, but then she is lacking her enthusiasm about her job...

I came to Orange Coast Women's Medical Group as a new patient and saw Dr. Kim Lam for my annual check-up and pap smear. The front desk was very professional and kind. Although Dr. Lam was friendly, I was taken aback a few times during our visit. Firstly, she had disclosed another patient's experience with pap smears and was laughing casually about it. I was extremely nervous about my first pap smear and this already made me feel more anxious. Secondly, when Dr. Lam said "let's talk about birth control", I let her know that because of my cultural and religious background, I am practicing abstinence. She immediately laughed and said, "Oh you're old fashioned!". As a young woman navigating the health care world, I was completely shocked that a doctor specializing in women's health would make an unprofessional, judgmental, and completely inappropriate comment. I felt very uncomfortable and judged. I understand as a women's doctor that it is her responsibility to educate young women on practicing safe sex or contraceptive options. However, a comment stating that I am "old fashioned" is completely out of line. Instead of asking open-ended questions to better understand me, and therefore provide her recommendations, she created a barrier in which I felt nervous in sharing information or asking questions. With many doctors and other health care professionals in my family, I am aware that cultural sensitivity is an extremely important aspect of providing quality care, something Dr. Lam lacks. I am extremely disappointed in her lack of empathy and cultural sensitivity with her patients and unfortunately would not recommend her as an OB-GYN doctor.

I am glad to find Dr. LAM as my OBGYN. During my pregnancy, she took care of me and make me feel so secure and relaxed. Every single appointment is helpful. She is talented, calm and experienced. She always gave me good advice and recommendations. My contraction lasted 17 hours. I was super tired . But when she came couple hours before delivering my boy, she made me feel positive and instructed me how to push and breath. My baby came out in natural birth . I recommend her as your OBGYN to everyone!

I have been a patient of OCWM Group since 1990. Last week Dr. Lam was on call and delivered my grandson. He was delivered after 2 hours of her using suction on his head. It was horrifying. All of the blood in his tiny helpless body ended up on the top of his head. He was lifeless when delivered. NICU team saved his life. He spent 7 days in NICU. A perfectly healthy full term baby that should have been delivered via c-section. Instead she put his life in a completely unnecessary risk. I have terminated my 29 year relationship with this group.

When I was in need of a gynecologist I decided I would just take my chances and look for a doctor by searching the Internet for reviews.I feel so fortunate to have chosen Dr. Lam.She is a knowledgeable and compassionate doctor who is genuinely interested in my health.Her office staff has been wonderful and I couldn't be more pleased.

I really like her!! Shes my new gynecologist and i trust her with my health!! Explains different procedures and recommends the right things for you, very friendly and approachable!!

This physician was not comforting at all. She laughs if she feels the questions you are asking are comical. She made me feel that she didn't take my seriously as a patient. I felt very judged and as if she felt I was not competent.

I cannot say enough about Dr.Lam. My OB retired and I was moved to her. Not super happy about re-establishing a relationship after delivering 3 kids with this group. I have read that they spend their time on their computer and rush through the appointment. I say otherwise. First of all your chart is electronic. They have to review your prior appointment and course of treatment to move forward. Second-Dr. Lam saved me. She clearly knew I was in a bad place and spent almost an hour with me for a normal annual visit. She has taken the time to get to know me and what has been going on in my life and made recommendations to really help me and put me on a better path. She is really amazing and worth giving her your health.

They don't listen to their patients , they are looking at the computer the whole time. No patient doctor relationship Over prescribing . They don't return calls .
