Richard Gill's Online Review Report Card

I have never felt so disregarded and small.  Dr. Gill said that he will not talk to me unless I first authorize him to do the full scale of Xrays, pictures, etc. I explained to him that I emailed his office the current X rays and am reluctant to do more unless absolutely necessary on a few teeth here and there if need be. I shared with him that I was a cancer survivor, and my oncologist didnt allow me frequent Xrays.  Dr. Gill did not seem to even listen or hear me. He ordered his assistant to do the full range of X rays, etc. For the next hour and a half (!!) his assistant was taking Xrays, pictures, etc.  Once he finished, Dr. Gill said to his staff member that he does not have time to discuss anything. He wants to go to lunch. I offered to wait for him as long as needed so that he could eat. But he refused to talk to me anyway because he had another patient after lunch.I was in disbelief! I asked if he heard me when I said I was uncomfortable with X rays taken again and did not authorize it. But if he did it anyway, he promised to consult me and give me a quote. He seemed to neither listen nor hear me. He passed by and left for lunch without even looking at me... He never consulted me that day or later.  He just used me to make as much monies as he possibly could from my insurance for X rays his technician took.I will be sending a formal complaint to the American Dental Association as well as my insurance company.  The doctors like Richard Gill should not be allowed to take advantage of unsuspecting patients and see them as personal monetary enrichment. He does not have a place near great doctors who CARE about patients instead of using them as ATM machines. Shame on you, Richard Gill !

Extremely pleasant experience! Front desk staff were very polite and efficient. Everything was quick, dental exam and cleaning were both gentle and thorough! Not always a fan of going to the dentist, but had a terrific experience here. Very comfortable

Great Dentist! Easy to talk to and gentle on the teeth. Gave me a great exam. I didnt have to wait very long before they were ready to seat me. the man at the front desk had it all figured out and was ready. He was great and was able to help me out with my insurance information. Easy to tell that everyone was working hard. The hygienist was gentle as well and gave me a great cleaning. Plan on going again soon. I would recommend this dentistry to anyone.

Very Knowledgeable and helpful dentist with a staff just as competent. The Hygienist Grant cleaned my teeth and gums great and Dr. Gill adjusted my nightgaurd. Afterwards Dr. Gill sat with me and talked to me to make sure my concerns were adressed, then gave me a sample of a cleaner.  The office seemed in good spirits and followed Covid protocol even though I wasnt concerned about covid, it made them look very professional.

I feel like you must hold a certain bank account balance to be treated human here. At first they are kind then they tell you you need a million things that urgently need to be taken care of, then they ask your insurance coverage,  then they tell you they dont cover anything,  everything is expensive,  you might want to find someone outside if Encinitas.  For my first treatment appointment, I unfortunately was held up and was unable to make it at my scheduled time, but I still made it in only an hour after at 2pm. When I made they appointment I was told they would handle all the urgent things first. After several shots to numb my mouth and half my face I was made to wait. Finally Dr. Gil came in no greeting, cold as a mortician and without warning begins to drill at my teeth. After 20 minutes of drilling he managed to complete only 3 fillings. His assistant says hell be back he has to step in with another patient real quick.  Then not 30 seconds later steps out and steps back in with excuse #1, well it looks like you got off easy and began talking about not being able to do the extractions because I apparently needed to warn them 20 minutes ahead of time if I wanted gas! Confused, I said I didnt want the gas...then she continued with another excuse that he didnt have enough time. Then as i walked to the front to reschedule my urgent extractions,  I was told that they had to stop because i was too sensitive?!? Never once during the procedure was i asked how i was feeling, nor did i mention i wanted to stop because it was too much.  She then changes her story again and said it was because I went in late. From the second they told me that the paperwork was extensive to process to be approved for my procedures I knew these people were not for the well being of their patients, but for the wellbeing of their own greedy pockets. I ran out of there as soon as I could, feeling completely uneasy as if i was about to be raped with my eyes open. Nice cover,  I heard the same conversation in the next room about how much extra the patient will have to pay because nothing is covered sounds like a cop out for lazy greedy people. They must pay for reviews or make fake profiles. I strongly advise you go elsewhere. Money hungry butchers with no hearts here.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Gill.  I showed up for my first appointment knowing I had multiple dental issues.  I was not expecting to have them resolved the same day, but that is what happened.  I spent 4 hours in his office getting broken crowns replaced with temporaries, a filling and a referral for other issues. On my return appointment 5 days later, my temp crowns were replaced with permanents and I had some other lessimportant issues fixed. I was very happy to have a quick resolution to these issues rather than several followup appointments spanning a month or so. He walked me through all the procedures I needed in advance using the technology he has, which was far more advanced than my last dentist. His staff was professional and the entire experience was better than Ive had with other dentists in the area over the years.

Really enjoy coming here, believe it or not for dental work! My sons and boyfriend come here too and same feedback always running on schedule, very accommodating, friendly, and great and professional service each time.  Had Ninh for a deep cleaning the last time. He is terrific and friendly. Also the Xray Technician is a very polite and well mannered young man. Dr. Gill is always great and friendly. And Nate is a very personable and efficient office manager. Great job team Gill.

Went for an extraction, he wouldnt do it, they were to give me a referral which never happened.  Wanted to get a teeth cleaning, they refused.  Offered to give me an estimate for a deep cleaning, never followed through.  Finally got it for $400: with my dental  insurance!  Terrible experience...

Hands down one of the most friendliest,  kindest group of Dental professionals I have ever encountered.  I recently moved from the Northeast so I needed to get many new Medical professionals.  Within the Dental arena, I feel like I scored a homerun!Grant, the Hygienist, has been very thorough and gentle in the 3, 4 times i have been in to clean my teeth.  I have never experienced any unnecessary discomfort while under his care.  I have full trust in Dr. Gills assessments and so enjoy that he takes the time to explain carefully  what needs to be done. Delightful office! An amazing staff and they ALWAYS provide very fine background music!

Amazing! Best dentist experience My experience with this dentist office was truly something I am deeply great full for, First! I was having a unexpected problem like some of us do from time to time and out of no where i was hit with a very painful bad tooth problem that was starting infection and spreading fast. And my reg. Dentist office was close over the weekend and only gave me pain killers to deal with the pain and pretty much out to hang! I was in a bad spot!A friend reached out and passed on this office information to me, told me just call and they have an emergency line and will they will call you back! Within 15 mins they called heard what was going on and made an appointment to see me the next day. Now keep in mind i live in los Alamitos south Los Angeles area and this was a drive for me about a 1 hour 45 min drive so this was a big leap of faith on my part to just hop in the car and head down south. During my 1st visit:When i showed up they had filling out the paper work they began to go to work for me taking Xray and pin pointing what was happening with my mouth they also understood right away the pain that was involved and made me feel at ease, within the hour they had me with antibiotics ready for pick up and appointment with a oral surgeon Again amazing recommendation, but the min i showed up they took control and gave me peace of mind. Check up and cleaning:After my surgery i had four wisdom teeth pulled and a broken tooth that one of the wisdom teeth was pressing up against and broke with the assist of my bit and a bad crown job done by my old dentist office. Needles to say the surgery went well. The dentist wellness group call me back for a check up on how i was doing and also when i had a concern with my mouth during the painful rehab they answered my calls with little to no delay. After the appropriate time passed they wanted to see me and do a checkup and cleaning so again made the trip down being impressed with everything so far. When i arrived they starting on the cleaning of the teeth, from the start they asked do i have any concerns with my mouth and then pointed out why my concerns and what they found connected them and made a lot of sense making me feel super involved and more educated in taking care of the at home remedies for my mouth. The cleaning was involved and they broke it down in steps on how there treating my mouth, i definitely felt takin care of and will never go anywhere else.  Thank you so much! Dr. Gill and to Your office it truly stands out, and is the best i have ever experienced.
