Timothy Chen's Online Review Report Card

Dr Chen is very good, he points out things re: my mom's prescriptions that I have not thought of.  I especially like it when he gives you a copy of your labs and go over it together so you understand what the numbers mean. He is attentive and listens. I like his nurse , she is nice too. When I contact them on My Chart they respond quickly.  The only thing I would complain is that he is always running late but idk that may just mean he takes his time with patients and don't rush them.  Their phone system is a little frustrating , the "patient navigator " are not knowledgeable and confusing at times and phone automated system goes in circles. Wish they will just have someone answer the phone at each facility rather then call the call center, and also if they could have billing specialists to help explain your charges as a HMO with relation to your insurance and referrals

Dr. Chen has consistently displayed a lack of attention to detail and poor communication skills in my time as his patient. At best, he conducts appointments in a rushed, dismissive manner, and at worst is downright disrespectful. Don’t let his high rating here on WebMD deceive you, other sites have him rated at 1 or 2 stars and from my experience those grades are accurate.

I am not a patient of Dr. Chen, however, I have relative who is under the care of Dr. Chen. Unfortunately this relative deals with severe ADHD & PTSD as a result of Level 25 stroke back in 2011. The stroke coupled with their ADHD can make working /communicating with them often very difficult and frustrating to both parties. Dr. Chen has been able to provide the care and knowledge to them to make their life so much more comfortable. Dr.Chen demonstrated his professionalism where other doctors did not (They would literally look at my relative ask them a couple basic questions then write the prescriptions—that were not effective—and send them packing). Dr. Chen is passionate about his work as demonstrated through the care of his patience. God Bless

My dad had a heart attack and ambulance took him from Franklin General to North Shore Hosp. Sadly, Dr. Chen does not have priviliges there. But I did call him to advise him of situation. He was nice enough to speak the doctor at NSUH who was treating him. He was nice enough to follow up with us to see how dad was. We are seeing him next week. What a nice committed doctor. Highly recommend him and I know my dad is in good hands.

I just read another review about Dr Chen's office and the "confused staff". I am sorry that this patient had a bad experience with the doctors office, I can't say I feel the same way. I have called into the office several times over the last two years and I am always very appreciative that Dr. Chen himself always responds quickly to my questions. Additionally he has called me personally to go over what I would call routine blood work results. I am very satisfied with the care I receive here. The waiting room can sometimes seem extremely busy, however the wait is never very long as there are several doctors, and various testing areas that patients are waiting for. I highly recommend Dr. Chen!

Very Caring

Dr. Chen is a highly skilled and compassionate Physician, that is part of South Shore Heart, who is made up of a unique group of doctors and staff. It is nice to know that if needed you have a highly skilled doctor always available.

Helpful when needed. Dr. Chen seems to run ontime. Haven't had any issues like person before me stated, am surprised at the rating. Only thing I will say is that when the office was empty and I went for bloodwork, they made me wait the 10 minutes I was early.Considering there was no-one in front of me, that was a bit odd.

that will probably not pass on the messages you leave for this doctor that is only in once a week. If you need to speak to him in an emergency forget it. He also does not return calls from your regular doctor-probably because his staff never bothered to write out the message that he called. This place is like a factory and it's too bad he is affiliated with them here because he does seem to be a smart and caring doctor. I just can't recommend him based on the way this office operates. Go somewhere else.
