List of Kentfield Hospital's Reviews
My husband was supposed to receive "rehabilitation therapy ," after being in the John Muir Hospital for 3 months, recovering from Covid. His care at Kentfield was horrible! They were under staffed. My husband was well enough to advocate for himself, he had to tell the nurse how to correctly use a particular piece of equipment to scan his bladder. He also had to tell them how many pills he was supposed to get...many times his medication was 3 hours late. The night staff would stand outside his room at 2am and have loud conversations. The 3 weeks he was there his physical therapy was never consistent, the occupational therapy was consistent for about a week. One night a nurse came in and demanded that he have an iv line placed in his arm even though he didn't need one.The doctors at the hospital were good. We particularly liked Dr. Mason, she was very caring and listened to our concerns. Two days before discharge staff came in at midnight, 3 hours late with medication and proceeded to tell my husband that they were moving him to another room. They told him someone is in the ER and they needed his room. My husband told them no, that he needed to sleep. They told him that he wouldn't have to do anything ,that they would be doing everything. My husband refused. So at 4 am a staff came in his room and started packing up my husband's belongings, my husband yelled at the staff to get out of his room.At 6 am they decided to move him down the hall. The staff started to turn off my husband's oxygen (which he obviously needed) My husband got upset and firmly told him not to turn the oxygen off.I contacted The Clinical Supervisor about this and he made excuses and saw no fault . He told me they needed the room.I got to the hospital the next day and his old room was empty all day.Not a good experience. Thank God my husband was strong enough and smart enough to refuse the bad treatment.
Very attentive staff.
Awesome!! Very Excellent work and miracle recovery happening at this rehab, due to the great doctors and staff!!! I'm so Grateful for the care they've given my brother!! Thank you so much!!!
All the staff is amazing. From the C.N.A'S , Nurses and house keeping. I have not met one rude person. They are knowledgeable and have great communication.
I like this hospital. The way we are being taken care of, the portion of the meals are good and how much they care about the patients and support us and show us love.
I was stressed transferring from my home town hospital to Kentfield, but the staff here made me feel welcome immediately. They've been courteous and professional,
My husband was a patient at Kentfield for 4 months back in 2014. Though there were some minor errors that were unpleasant in his caretaking, overall the doctors, nurses and support staff at Kentfield were very diligent and communicative. Overall, compared to other facilities in the Bay Area, I would highly recommend Kentfield as of when we used their facilities. Also just to note, my husband’s case was extreme and tragic. It took me years to accept what happened to him and that it was simply un-fixable. Kentfield was very understanding and warm with our situation, and worked with my husband to the best of their extent. I am grateful.
My after care that I needed landed me in Kentfield and my stay here although only six days , I was able to watch a hospital with people who are not only professional they are also caring, there positive attitude lifted my spirits and there attention to serving, they made sure all my needs were met. The facility was always spotless, the food here was fresh and very tasty. So housekeeping and kitchen staff thank you , and to my Doctors, my awesome Nurse’s,Respiratory & Physical therapists and CNA’s you are all truly a cut above the rest, I am grateful too you all, I recommend Kentfield Hospital. jonathan Jimenez
In September/October 2020, my mother was diagnosed with West Nile Virus(WNV) encephalitis. She was intubated for respiratory failure due to WNV infection-induced neuromuscular dysfunction. She was not able to be weaned off the ventilator due to WNV infection-induced neuromuscular dysfunction. She could not move her body, neck and upper/lower extremities. She was hospitalized at Kaiser Permanente Hospital. She received multiple antibiotics. But mother did not get any treatment for the WNV infection since there is no FDA approved treatment for WNV infection. Dr. Chet Chea asked us if our mother received steroids and we said no. At Kentfield Hospital, Dr. Chet Chea was asked to consult for the WNV infection. My sister Josefa, asked Dr. Chet Chea about possible treatment of WNV infection with IVIG. Josefa my sister had researched and found a physician in Mississippi who had experienced with treating WNV infection with IVIG. Dr. Chet Chea Informed us that there no FDA approved treatment for WNV infection and that He would look into ongoing clinical trials. Dr. Chet Chea asked Josefa if our mother had received steroid treatment and my sister said no. Dr. Chet Chea contacted Dr. Arturo Leis at the Neuroscience and Neurological Recovery in Mississippi. Dr. Leis recommend did not recommend using IVIG since our mother contracted the WNV in October 2020 and by the time she was transferred to Kentfield Hospital in on November 10, the window period for targeting the virus is probably over ... her body likely has cleared the virus. Dr. Leis recommended high dose steroids(methylprednisolone) for treatment of WNV infection-induced neuromuscular dysfunction. My mother was treated with iv methylprednisolone 1 gram once daily X5 days, followed by tapering iv methylprednisolone x5 days l, and then a course of oral tapering prednisone.Prior to receiving steroids, my mother failed multipleventilator weaning trials due to neuromuscular weakness. After she was put on high dose steroids, she had improved strength and mental status, and was eventually decannulated (removal of tracheostomy tube). She was able to go home , instead of going to another nursing home. Before arriving to Kentfield Hospital my mother had body movement but was very weak. During her stay at Kentfield Hospital her progress declined and ended up with several infections. My mother was unable to communicate with her nurses and doctors. My mother could only speak Spanish and was not assigned a Spanish speaking nurses. The only saving grace at Kentfield Hospital was Dr. Chet Chea and some of my mother nurses, CNA's that were excellent at doing their job. I give all the credit to Dr. Chet Chea for my mothers progress and the fact that she is home with us. He was the only doctor that actually listened to us and asked us questions. Not only a excellent doctor but a great human being that has compassion with patients and family members. He was the only doctor that listened when my sister informed him of a physician in Mississippi that had been treating WNV patients. Dr. Chet Chea reached out to Dr. Arturo Leis about my mothers condition and a treatment of high dose of steroids was given to my mother. My mothers progress is all due to Dr Chet Chea who worked alongside Dr. Nurse Practitioner Charla. Me and my family give some credit to Kentfield Hospital for consulting with infections disease Dr. Chet Chea because with out him this progress would not been possible. He has been a guardian angel to my mother and to us. A big thank you to Dr. Chet Chea!!!!! The four stars are due to Dr. Chet Chea and the nurses,CNA's!!!
There is no communication at this hospital. Every time we call it’s “can you call us back in a little,” we call back and then we get transferred to 4 different people, hung up on multiple times, and basically ignored. Once we finally are able to get someone they are always so so rude and seem annoyed that they are talking to us and give us absolutely no information and tell us to talk to someone else, again. If you are in charge of someone’s care at this facility, but aren’t allowed in due to COVID, good luck, you’re going to have one heck of a time trying to get any care information about your family member.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
